The best and most direct route to the Golden Gate Bridge is Golden Gate Transit (leaving Sales Force) for about 3 dollars, I think. It doesn't matter what route; they all stop just before the Bridge at the toll plaza.

It is a pleasant hike from the various bus stops that go to the Presidio, but a few miles away from the Bridge. MUNI Route 45 (pick up at Kearny & Market) stops at the Presiado's Lombard Gate. MUNI Route 30 (also pick up at Kearny & Market) goes to Sports Basement in the Presidio about 2 miles distant from the bridge, but a nice hike along the Bay waterfront.
MUNI Route 43 goes to Presidio Transit Center; best place to pick that up is in front of the Academy of Science Building in Golden Gate Park. From the Presidio Transit Center, it is about a 3-mile hike through the Presidio to the Golden Gate Bridge. Wear good walking shoes, in any event. (To get to Golden Gate Park, pick up at Sales Force Transit Center, MUNI Route 5, get off at 6th Street, and walk into Golden Gate Park and to Academy of Science Building.
"Presidio-A-Go" is a direct free bus to Presidio Transit Center, best pick up in front of Hyatt Hotel (Market & Drumm Street).

I'm new to the US/San Francisco: How can I pay with my digital Clipper card? Do the buses have a reader for that where I can tap on?

Yes, there is a card reader just to the right of the driver. It works with the plastic clipper cards or the one one on a phone.

Can you tell me how to get to the golden gate without using Golden Gate Transit? Its just simply the fare too expensive to reach the golden gate.

Nice video, as I am planning to travel SF later this year and doing some research, so is Golden gate transit safe to take? Is it punctual? I am an Asian and a bit worried of Asian hate crime rising, thus would like to know more thank you

You can also take the 28 which is a Muni Bus line from Fisherman's Wharf or at the terminal of the 49. It doesn't take you across the bridge but it brings you right in front.

Muni is quite safe. Lots of Asians ride is daily. There are many neighborhoods in SF that are predominantly Asian and we have a lot of Asian tourists as well. That’s not to say it’s not possible to run into the wrong person… but I haven’t yet experienced this and neither anyone I know. There’s been a few instances on the news but those are quite rare and not quite a reason to avoid this beautiful city!
The 49 bus runs every few minutes so you shouldn’t have a problem catching a bus.

Hey, my friends & I (Southeast Asian) just went there 20-22 Sept. We didn't take the exact routes in the video, but spent two days taking the bus & BART train all over downtown. Due to different personal schedules we stayed at different hotels and I actually spent some time exploring solo. Occasional slight delays but never had to wait > 10m for a bus. Never felt unsafe, came across _a lot_ of Asian tourists and locals (including kids & families).
Train stations have prominent staff & security presence if you need help. On the bus you can talk to the driver if you need help. Ofc general safety precautions are always wise (save emergency numbers & apps, follow your instinct).
Some parts of the Tenderloin and Lower Nob Hill are a bit rough, tourists-regardless of origin-are advised to avoid walking late at night. (No personal experience with this; fwiw I did walk some 2 blocks from the Union Square 7-8pm and it was fine.)
      Wish you a nice visit!
