Pretty badass!!! Imagine something similar at pencil production line. Each pencil is pushed, gets sharpened and falls into the box in say 0.2 sec. Gets sharpened and not completely eaten by sharpener.
great video! i think the pliers were a better idea because your glove can get sucked into the contraption, further worsening your potential injuries... stay safe
Thanks for watching! Yeah, the glove in hindsight was probably a worse idea than no glove. I just didn't want my hand to slip and go right into the cutting blades, but the glove could've gotten trapped and made it worse. Turned out fine though!
@@currentconceptfrom an ex shop teacher, yes, glove is worse than no glove. If you're feeling particularly brave and strong of stomach, look up degloving in power tool accidents.
I’m kinda glad your 3d printing went bad. A 13,000 rpm motor with no throttle and that sharpener would have probably destroyed the shit out of that plastic.
few things that'll help increase that 3d print strength for future projects - use more perimiters (it's stronger than infill) - print hotter (like 220-230 for PLA) - use less part cooling those are the sorts of things that'll increase strength and layer adhesion. it still won't make your stuff indestructible though.
Sweet thank you! Yeah I should've increased my perimeter for sure. The higher printing temp - it makes it stringy for printing bridges, no? I guess I wouldn't have that problem with this print, since I didn't really bridge anything and had supports for all.
yeah, higher temps can be stringy. so best to use it sparingly on parts that can afford it. also things with overhangs can't really benefit from reducing the cooling since you'll just get curling and warping, so yeah those two are situational. i just love seeing 3d printing appear everywhere now, it's such a good technology for prototypes and the such. also i loved the video, very entertaining lmao who knew vaporising pencils could be so fun
Yeah 3d printing is so cool. Thank you for the tips!! I always like learning more about 3D printing. Im glad you enjoyed! It was so much fun to just watch those pencils disappear lol
Glad you enjoyed! Yeah im not sure how much it would change - I still need a good amount of torque, since I was pushing on those pencils pretty hard to get em to sharpen. If I go for more torque and less speed, it might just eat it no problem.
I would sharpen everything that fits at school. I done markers, crayons, erasers, chalk, flagpole handles, my teacher's pointer handle, paint bushes aswell as the handles, Birthday candles (out of the new box then placed back inside once sharpened). you name it, if it fits I probably sharpened it already.
