If you put some african cichlids in there, they're brave fish and would swim around you, also they'll help the kois get brave!

Glad it turned out great for you guys. But fyi, Koi does not like turbulent waters. I think you might want to relocate them. They really like serene waters. Sad to see them stressed. Good luck.

Not sure I agree. Koi are carp and carp live in rivers. They like fast moving water actually.

Hi, Pond looks Amazing, what you do for filtration, how do you keep it crystal clear?

Hi. A lot of filtration. 3 biofalls, 2 skimmers, 2 canister filters and a lot of plants. So far so good at 3 months in after the build. Planning to built a bog filter area (natural skimmer) in the future as well. That should help even more. But as of right now it looks like whatever I have does the job on the 6000 gallon pond.

The poor fish look a little stressed. I hope you won't be doing cannon balls into the pond anymore now that the fish are back.

They are at the beginning (only 2nd year for some and 1st year for most). It's just a matter of time until they get more & more comfortable with us being in there with them.

Swimming pond company said no fish and no ducks in a swimming pond? Too much faecal matter they said. Apparently frogs are ok.

      Watch Greg Withstock's videos.
You do need proper filtration though, of course . See one of our latest videos, we just built an intake bay and a wetland filter which is the best most natural filter you can have on a pond: ua-cam.com/video/evYkflkOAp8/v-deo.html

@ST H Not for koi or goldfish. They survive in any temperatures. During the harsh winters here when the pond is frozen they go to the bottom and "hibernate". But the pond needs to be at least 3 foot deep. See here: ua-cam.com/video/2ltP3XAjoeI/v-deo.html
