"I've done behavioural tests on him" really means I'm trying to get an excuse not to keep him but i want to keep him so bad. Also, you have the space and the resources to take in a stray. Come on Matt, please keep him!!!!
Nah it's important when you have young kids. Kids do silly stuff like getting near the food bowl or taking it and dancing with it (a legit situation I ran into) and dogs (especially those coming from a tough spot) can react negatively to that. It's pretty natural. I wouldn't want some random person grabbing my plate while I'm eating and causing me to wait/chase them around. So you need to either teach your kids to 100% respect the dog while it's eating. Or to test it to make sure it won't go badly when it happens.

If an owner doesn't come forward then keep him. He is a beautiful, good natured dog, and it's not like you don't have the resources or space. Besides, how often does an animal pick you, rather than the other way around?
Believe he will keep it. But it’s clear some loved the dog and all he is gonna do is try to find its owner in return is the right thing to do. He is a vet and knows best how to handle everything
@@triplehfarmsllc7348 Then lets see that - I agree. SCAN THE DOG!
@@TiaraPoodles not everyone chips pets I’ve got 300 acres fenced in my bloodhound and Belgian both run and they aren’t chipped. But he will try and find the owners if the person wants it back anyways but i don’t know what you mean by “Then let’s see that”??????
You have a big enough yard, and he clearly loves everyone in your family and needs a family to love him and is great company for your dog
Oh, he’s yours. Perfect personality and demeanor. Matches every member of your household perfectly. This is how we get our babies sometimes…they come to US. I pray he stays with you.
The best ones find us. 😍
The new place is cool but this house has a great backyard!
“This is how we get our babies sometimes…they come to US.” Ill remember that
Who is we? Stop stealing babies lol
@trav3510 trav3510 what do you mean?
My old dog Fred showed up to my families house right when we were about to leave for school and it so happened to be the last day then summer break. His paws were super shredded, and he was pretty warn out. We ended up keeping him, he was the sweetest thing in the world. I miss him
"The one dogs good by themselves." I told my wife and kids that once. That's how we ended up with 6 of them now.
My husband told me no more dogs, we now have 4 2 pit mixes and 2 shepherds. All spoiled rotten.
Lucky bastards. The missus keeps wanting Chihuahuas! They're not even real dogs!!
We’ve got 3 Great Danes and one German Shepherd runt puppy...dogs are awesome!
The wife had a Chihuahua rat terrier mix female. Then we ended up getting a pitbull Chihuahua mix male. I didn't get him fixed in time and they ended up having 2 sets of pups 2 pups each time.
Lol
Lol my dad said the same about a kitten she was not staying lol 15 years later he was building her casket she did of cancer he never left her side.
Matt says we are going to have to take him to the vet. Matt YOU ARE THE VET
As soon as he said they’d have to take him to the vet I just sat here like _”hmmm that shouldn’t be hard considering you’re a vet & own a vet clinic”_ this dog honestly picked the perfect family.
Name him Ranch! He’s white like ranch and “demo ranch” get it Matt. Haha demo ranch! Come on you know you like it.
Thats a pretty good one actually
Thats to perfect
His kids already named him, Buddy!
But Ranch is a good idea too..
That's what I'm saying it's too perfect not to have him named ranch .
This comment is underrated
I can see it now. Mere opens her own channel of "don't tell Matt" and she just keeps adopting stray animals.
make this happen
Lol
Mere adopts entire family of cute raccoons- "don't tell Matt"
He found his forever home.Bless your souls. Congrats 🎈 on the new family member
💕
You all need to sell "Don't tell Matt" dog beds, collars and food bowls.
You be a thinking, dog merch, i bet it would sell like crazy.
I'd totally get that for our dogs!!!
They should put you on the payroll. That’s a brilliant idea
“he doesnt look great but he does have a good personality” if only the women i meet cared about that 😂
Dude, that is too funny....ditto. Lol.
But Matt still wants to dump him?
@@feedmyneed6476 “wants”
I'm right there with ya, LMBO...TOO FUNNY!
matt: owns 500 guns
matt: owns a fleet of vehicles
also matt: we CANT get another dog
Buying new toys.. 👍🏼 Another dog that gets along with everyone 👎🏼
LOL 😂😂
HAHAHAHAHAHA BRILLIANT!!!!
Thank you! Was just going to say the same.
Mere petting the dog.. "don't tell Matt.."
He was really good while taking a bath. What an awesome dog!
That's an Argentinian Dogo. They ll protect your family 'till the end. they are so loyal and very good with kids.
Yknow they kinda look like a pitbull the head shape but slimmer version of one
I was thinking white English, but you might be right. White English is pretty popular in southern Georgia, Alabama, and Northern Florida. They were farm dogs to protect the family and livestock. Had 2 growing up and they were amazing.
Exactly what i said bro Dogo Argentino great dogs. Will die for you.
it’s a pitbull. obviously.
That's definitely an Argentinian Dogo, at least 4 to 5 inches taller than a Pittie. Great family and ranch dogs!! And it looks like this one has been properly socialized!!
That's a keeper for sure!
That dog doesn’t even want to go back to his old family 😂
I know haha, the dog looks like maby he didn't get abused but didn't have a great life either, kind of like a human on benefits haha he was just alive now he probably feels alot better, maby ,maby not , I'm not an expert haha
Story of my life, "doesn't look great but has a pretty good personality"
🤣🤣🤣
Lmao!
😆😆
The dog fits with the family, it's the father who doesn't fit...hyper hysterical and authoritarian!
They should name him Ranch so they have Demo-Ranch. He's also white like ranch.
Awesome..great idea.
Underrated comment
Yeah hope the kids read this, they might just
bump bump
Ong
If he barked all night, it's probably a good sign that he's used to sleeping inside the house.
Fun story, met a farmer in Mozambique, a stray dog came to him one day, he told it to "f-off" and all it did was wag it's tail and start following the guy everywhere, so they became friends and f-off became the dog's name
What a sweet Dogo Argentino! They’re wonderful dogs if well trained and he seems well socialized. He does look a bit thin though. Good thing he showed up at the right house!
I thought dogo the moment i saw it. That's a dog someone makes a DECISION on getting so i'm sure someone has to be missing this one. Wonderful breed though and this one has a fantastic temperament it'd be a blessing to any family they are with.
@Mel Hawk Typically catch dogs are given protective equipment in the form of collars or vests to protect their vitals when out on a hunt since they are obviously the ones going toe to toe with the hog. I really doubt they took this guy out hog hunting in just a dinky chain collar.
That’s not what it is
@@josiffexplosiff1 then what is it because I have one myself and I’m 99.99999% sure that’s an agentino
I believe I just watched an entire episode of you explaining how the universe has aligned for that gorgeous dog to adopt you!
Mere is going to post a pic of adoption papers for Buddy with the caption “don’t tell Matt”
That would be perfect lol 🤣
I vote to name him RANCH! He even has the same coloring, white with some faint darker specks
I like the name however I think you stole it since there is earlier comments saying the same thing
@@troybolette9307 Oh for crying out loud, broke wrench didn't steal anything -- he's voting in agreement for a name that has been mentioned several times.
@@carolsheehan9063 then give some damn credit
@@troybolette9307 fancy seeing you here
@@Jaycruiser01 do you feel proud of yourself I didn't say you were wrong
It's lovely to see a real nice family, I'm living vicariously through this channel
Our sweet Australian shepherd mix showed up with a choke collar. He had been shot in the paw, but was so friendly and adorable. He had been trained to sit and fetch and was already fixed. He ran up to my dad as if to announce that he had finally arrived. He was a part of our family for over 10 years.. He was a Buddy too. He's been gone for 3 years now. I miss him so much.
Please rescue another furbaby in your dog that you loved and lost . Your furbaby will let you know the perfect dog for you . Plus even tho your baby is gone another dog desperately needs a 2nd chance .please think about it
you made me cry....i have 6 rescues.......everyone of them was homeless, varying degrees of abuse/neglect.....they are living their best life & i am , too !.......they are safe in a big fenced yard, sleep inside, food & water.....LOVE!.....HAPPY LIFE FOR ALL OF US !
The only dog I’ve ever owned followed my brother and his friends home from school. My brother went home and the dog followed his friend well they had plenty of dogs and our family didn’t so they offered him to us. He lived a long 18 years. For a lab mix he lived one hell of a long life
Wow that’s amazing. Just lost our chocolate lab after 16 amazing years. Dogs just sometimes find that one forever home. Might have found his with Matt’s.
Doggo needed someone to take care of him. He picked a vet. Smart doggo! You are keeping him! 😊❤️
He is precious! He found you ‘ for a reason’! He’s is very well behaved! I hope no one ‘claims’ him, because he would have a better home with you! 💕
"...they would find a really great home for him."
*WE ARE A REALLY GREAT HOME FOR HIM!!!*
Plot twist: Mere found him and had him “wander” into the yard and kept food out there so he stayed, and told everyone “Dont tell Matt”
Thats hilarious!!
That's plausible.
Alternate title: 18 minutes of matt trying to convince himself he doesn’t want something he really wants
Agreed but how could you not want to keep that dog it’s behaviours seem great and that’s the biggest thing
…of Matt ACTING like he doesn’t want him. Lol
My stepmom is a vet too and we have 9 dogs right now and we have only payed for one ever, so trust me this perfect dog is great, I’ve have/had dogs that would have mean put down, or died soon but lived for many years in a nice home so this dog is great
This is one argument you aren't going to win, Matt.
He's so good with the kids and Demo it's like it's meant to be.
He's literally the perfect dog. If you don't keep him, I'll take him myself. He's a gorgious boy
I was just going to say that. If i lived anywhere near that I'd take him in a HEARTBEAT
"We ARE a good home for him!" awww! How cute are they!
My girl brought a tiny ball of orange fur home 2 years ago. I said "hell no, we don't need an animal."
Joe The Cat turned out to be my best friend. I'd kill for that cat.
I appreciate this old school type of off the ranch vlog, miss these.
Two dogs are great. They keep each other company, they can take shifts when protecting the property at night, they can pull a sled faster.
Clean, no injuries, not malnourished, no weird behavior... this is someone's lost pet. I agree with Matt, you can't just keep him, it's not legally or morally right. If they choose to get involved (which they pretty much already have by interacting with the dog) they should make an effort to reunite the animal with its owner. All these people in the comments going "buhh you should keep it", no! What if it was your lost pet, would you want some random person to go "welp this is mine now"?
I actually saw posters all around the Bastrop area for several weeks w/ a picture that looked just like him. Eventually the posters went away, but they were everywhere.
Maybe that family will see this video?
I could tell in the first 30 seconds that Matt already loved that dog.
I feel like this is a “don’t tell Matt” moment
the way the kids are in perfect unison at the beginning lol, so pure
Demo does need him, but he probably has a family looking for him.
What if HE isn't looking for his adoptive family?
Mere lowkey taking revenge on Matt for all those "don't tell Mere" times.
"don't tell Matt"
“He’s dirty”
YOU WOULDNT LET US GIVE HIM A BATH🤯😂😂
Sins he's dirty call him Harry
He really is a good looking dog. And he picked YOU guys! Can't argue with that
I love the vet saying we are going to have to take him to the vet all the time.
Should played in arms of an angel when he was trying to sell the back pack
That's what was missing 😂😂😂😂🤣
Since Meredith is in" losing her mind mode" perfect time for the demo garage build at demo hq..
Yes great sugestion
He already told us that he's building it
shhhhhhh man .. too soon
i mean she gets a new dog he gets a massive garage
noooooooooo....don't tell Mere!
Dude I hope you keep that Buddy! I only wanted 1 dog and we found a large white dog and 3 yrs later we still have 2 dogs and our big white dog is aggressive to visiting dogs, hates baths (bites) and clippings nails requires a muzzle. Finally after 3 yrs has decided he loves mom brushing his Fluffy hair ( he has more hair then my husband) & lastly he is very protective of my grandchildren, my daughter & myself. Keep the dog please.
