Once in a lifetime seeing etna doing its stuff another great vid Steve 👍
It was certainly a memorable day! Thanks! 😁
The international language of bikers, we all love the freedom.
Another great blog Steve 👍
Hi Alan, thanks! Yes, we didn’t speak each other’s language yet we were speaking the same language. Such a nice moment 😁
Great vid steve, your timing couldn’t have been better. Safe journey home👍
Thanks Preston! 😁
Thank you Steve again, great view of Etna, and the smoke ring :), stay safe and dry :)🙂
Thanks Chris, I felt very blessed to witness those smoke rings! 😁
Another top class video. Just love these. Keep it going.
Thank you so much! 😁
💗💗💗💗💗
Thanks! 😁
I'm so glad you managed to capture the smoke ring at the start. This journey was just as nice in reverse
It was such a privilege to see the smoke rings and I’m so glad the GoPro actually picked them up in the end! 😁
Loving the trip, can't wait to get away on my bike this year
Hi John, thank you! So glad you’re enjoying it! Where are your plans going to take you in the bike? 😁
@@TwoWheeledDreamer Haven't yet decided. Depends on how many days holiday I can get by myself, I'd like to do Spain.
Another smashing video Steve, certainly makes me want to visit... Stay safe
Thank you, it’s definitely one for the list! 😁
I was a bit worried for you, mate, when you got lost in that town as all the parked cars seemed to be pointing towards you 😢😂
It wasn’t my finest hour!! Lived to tell the tale though… 😂
❤ Great video and perfect timing . We was up there last year and our phones went into alert sounds it was government warning Mount Etna was gonna erupt .. I’d never heard such an alarming sound on my phone .
Loved that road up Etna .. such a shame you have to turn around same day , but obviously understand why . Sicily is just beautiful, the beaches the people the food !!!!!! Safe travels bud . Really enjoyed this series
I followed your trip in Italy as well Mark, both trips have inspired me to do the same, possibly in September.
@@marksteen14 ah wow That’s cool .. best wishes for September mark .
Hi there, I’m so glad you’re enjoying the videos. What an amazing place Mount Etna is - it sounds like your experience was far more dramatic than mine! Ideally I would have spent a week exploring the island but just making it there in the time I had was a result. Such a beautiful part of the world 😁
@@TwoWheeledDreamer No definitely not as dramatic as that huge cloud , also we never done that cable car , my wife got too nervous after the alert . So we stopped where you parked and walked around and took photos then scarpered !
But I know we have to go back now to get the full experience!
Keep up the great videos .
Fantastic job 😊
Thanks Mick! 😁
Mate, such an epic trip. Inspiring! Even Etna salutes you in her own way. I’d want to do the same trip from here in Sweden, though I’d prolly take the ferry from Genoa at least one way.
Quick request when you get home, if you could do a list of the things you would have loved to have on your trip but didn’t bring and vice versa would be grand.
In regards to touring Eastern Europe I just came back from a week in the Baltic states. Very cheap unless you want to make it expensive. Most expensive camp site was 16 euros and a three course great meal with beer and coffee was 31 euros in the middle of Vilnius. Out in the sticks buying your own food and sleeping in your own tent the only real expense was fuel. Recommend it all (apart from the Latvian roads, especially in the east).
Hi there! I’m so glad you are enjoying the videos! Yes, the ferry from Genoa would definitely help when travelling so far from Sweden- it would be an epic trip! That’s really interesting to hear that about Eastern Europe, I’m starting to formulate a plan for next summer and that is looking like a destination (possible Nordkapp too). I’ll definitely have a think about things I wish I had taken: the first thing that immediately springs to mind is an Italian plug adaptor as I didn’t realise they used a different system to most of Europe! 😂
Amazing experience- smoke rings and being gently showered by a volcano is special . Italy has been kind to you so far 😊. Nice to see such super biker camaraderie. Also reassuring to get the same accommodation too. The bike seems to be performing perfectly too. Looking forward to next Thursday 👍
Hi Ken, it really did feel like a serendipitous day, when everything came together just perfectly! 😁
Back home myself after a 6 day tour and finally a chance to watch this Steve, my god she blew her top eh........
The mountain certainly performed for me! I look forward to seeing the videos from your tour Arch!
excellent stuff as always - you fit alot in a day! I tended to start early at 6am but by 5 I was pretty much done in although I usually did a firepot meal for lunch and coffee using a gas stove to keep costs down - I found the same as you that zumo was good for bigger routes but in town it was slow and outdated so I relied on apple maps on my iphone for in town stuff - going to change to Annakee Wilds in a few weeks but have to say after 10k on the annakee adventures they still have alot of life in them and the 2CT has been amazing - keep going and go for airbnb I think the camping is pretty harsh when youre doing long hours and as many miles as you do ;-)
Thank you my friend! 6am is an early start but there is something wonderful about getting up and on the road before most of the other traffic. That’s interesting to hear the Zumo operates similarly to the Nav 6 - Google maps always seems to win the day and I am definitely coming round to the idea that AirBnB beats camping every time! 😁
So Steve, mount etna erupted just for you , or was it just luck. I really enjoy your videos. Keep them coming Steve.
Thanks Brian! Mount Etna certainly delivered on the day of my visit; I was so lucky! 😁
Could have preserved the GS perfectly for future generations if caught in lava 😅
At 2,200f I don't think the bike would have survived to be brutally honest...
@@BibTheBoulderTheOriginalOne made of stern stuff the GS 🤣
@@Chalky29 Yes I know. I have seen lots of them after they have scaled the pavement at our local Tesco...which I suspect is about as far as most of them go...
My motorcycle immortalised! I like it!! 😂
It's like being there. How do you get your mind set for the journey home? I hate going home from such nice places. I guess just the love we have of riding perhaps
Thanks Terry! It’s always sad to be leaving somewhere so magical but I enjoy riding so much I’m savouring every moment of the journey right up until I get home again. As you say, it’s the love of riding 😁
is the nav 6 any good when in europe,
Hi Mick, it’s great 99% of the time; where it struggles is trying to find a particular address or tourist attraction etc. the sort of thing goggle maps finds easily. The actual navigation is good though…
Enjoying the series Steve, it’s a pity you didn’t have time for a second day on Sicily having travelled that distance.
Thanks Norrie, I’m so glad you are enjoying the videos! There just wasn’t time to stay longer but it gives me the perfect excuse to go back! 😁
