- [4K] The Big Dipper coaster is the world's first inline seating multi-launch roller coaster at the famous Luna Park in Sydney, Australia. Ride recently opened on December 26th, 2021. Another cool thing about this coaster is the very close proximity to an apartment complex.
The Big Dipper is a Hot Racer roller coaster ride. It was designed and manufactured by Intamin.
Ride was filmed May 2022 with permission from Sydney Luna Park management. Only GoPro attached to the chest is allowed.
Luna Park is the only amusement park in Sydney, Australia. There's also another Luna Park you can visit and that's in Melbourne, Australia.
In real life, it felt so much faster, and felt like it lasted for longer. Super fun. Every time it ended, we would line up again. SUPER FUN
Yes
sameeee me and my little brother would run get our photos then run back up and do it again!
BEST RIDE EVER
That’s awesome, reminds me of a human sized Hot Wheels track! 🔥
exactl what I tought lol
How ironic is it that the actual Hot Wheels coaster Australia had at one stage had yellow track instead of orange
I was lining up with my friend for this line and we were like, mmmmm, maybe, let’s just get in the line and see her w big it is and like, just see form the top level view, when we saw the track we were like, never mind, not today, nooooopeee.. I rlly want to go on this tho, my friends mum said it was absolutely fine and it was very fun and not scary, because he mum had been in it before with my friends brother, I took her advice, I lined up with my friend, and I can tell you what we said when we saw the track up close when lined up, litteraly, I promise this is what we said. “ nope not today, no way am I going on that, look, it looks like a rlly fun ride like your mum said, and I rlly rlly rlly want to go on it! Same me to it’s just a no for now, maybe when I’m older :]
So yeah, when you stand back and watch it form like the boomerang, it looks not big at all, when you line up and are close to the racks and on second level, close to racks as I said, it looks HUGE, I am not kidding, I rlly want to go on it but I don’t know how anyone got some advice?
@@OziDeLiim 12 and i went on it 7 times today
wow! beautiful video!! the colors, the sky! all is perfect! 🥰
Welcome to Sydney!
Are those residential buildings beside a loud rollercoaster?😮
Yes! And usually there is a LOT more screaming than on this video (though I'm not entirely sure whether the screams are coming from the riders or residents).
Rent should be free
Straya m8
@@Cinnahawk The park was there first I believe, anyone moving in knows what they’re in for
It’s an office building next to the coaster.
Resident buildings are a little further away and on the other side of the building.
I think these are the only type of coasters that truly terrify me just because on the fact of how they’re designed
I’ve been on this and the launches are insane and the positive Gs on those loops is a great out on nearly every ride😅
Actually have like twice
I've not ridden a roller coaster before. Should I go on it? I honestly would rather that than a drop tower
I didnt grey out i just got my head pulled forwards
Ok I’ve been on the dipper 13 to 14 times
@@HornetAviation i went on it and i didnt regret it
I rode this before and its GODLY. Recommended
Wonderful that they use design elements from the original Luna Park at Coney Island NY. GREAT JOB!
Luna Park Sydney was built by the same people and was originally in Adelaide and was moved to Sydney in the 1930s. There is one in Melbourne as well.
the first time i went on this coaster as we were going over the the first loop i got stuck leaning down. I wasnt going to go on it but boy am i glad i did
Seems like a great ride. It looks cool. But, it feels like it could be a little longer.
It seemed like it was over, right after the launch.
Other than that it looks like a fun time.
Park is very small so the footprint is perfect
@@spastroboy hey, Thankyou for your help and info.
I appreciate your time.
You comment makes sense.
So, i guess the ride fits right in, and it couldnt be any or much bigger coz of the size of the park.
Have a blessed week.
Glen
Went there last week it last bout a minute but if your not a big roller-coaster person then this is the perfect coaster experience IMO
@Leila Merritt Hi Leila, thanks for confirming what i said in my comment because that's what i thought when i watched the P.O.V video. I couldn't believe it was over so soon. To me, that's a waste of money.
That park is stealing people's money, and they are making money on that ride, lmao.
I hope it runs for a few more years because it is a cool ride, but if it breaks down, maybe they will put in a bigger and better coaster. Lol.
Since the ride is so short, they should let riders go 2x. Lmao. Thanks.
Stay well.
Glen
went on it! was more intense than i thought since i havent been on a roller coaster in a while
How intense would u recommend
Awesome ride..I love a good rolletcoaster
4 stars ! A breath-taker.
OMG. Maked me feel queezy just watching the vid !
One of my favorite credits, big dipper was crazy fun! Just wish it was longer
The Big Dipper launch coaster is beautiful
Only just occurred to me how strange it is to have a roller coaster called "The Big Dipper" in a place where you cannot physically see the asterism of the Big Dipper. But this whole park is full of references to the Coney Island of long ago, when the original Luna Park was the most famous amusement park in the world, and I suppose the astronomical referent that this name would have to a North American doesn't really matter. (There are also Big Dipper roller coasters in the UK, where they can see the Big Dipper in the sky but I don't think they call it that.)
Amazing ride, I was on a number of test runs before opening to public.
More of these rides should open!
I got on the Big Dipper and it gave me back pain and neck pain for two days but that maybe because in only 9
I like the single seat configuration
Interesting concept with that double launch.
Looks like a pretty smooth ride
No it’s not really, it’s kinda rough sadly
@@maw5320 what? No it isn’t
@@Taylor_swift_addict yes it is, it’s kinda bumpy bro
@@maw5320 Were you at the back row aswell 💀
@@swagmartin350 all of the seats were bumpy, it looks way more smoother than it is lmao
Good video 👍🏽
This intamin looks amazing
Wait… when we’re you there, I was there on Monday! I road it in the front and back & safe to say the it is a pretty decent ride (especially for Australia), although it was a little short
Me and my family just went to luna park, the one me and my cousin were scared of is the big dipper and were sobbing not to go on it, later on i decided to go on it and DUDE IT IS SCARY but fun, we told my cousin it was a great ride and she agreed to go on it, it was a blast and we went on it Twice
This was in Australia, right?
Milsons Point, Sydney
That looks like a planet coaster preset-
I wonder why i keep watching your MOA vids 😂
It looks so fun
Oh wow! I wanna go on this.
wait woah we went on the blue car!
Nice luna park very good
Welcome to Aus! Will you be visiting the Gold Coast parks?
I think I remember this park...wasn't it part of a VHS called Roller Coaster Thrills in 3D? WAIT--it IS the Big Dipper! They changed it super hard!
this is the 3rd big dipper. first was wood, then a steel one that went to dreamworld as the cyclone/hotwheels sidewinder/sidewinder/gold coaster, then theres this
which gopro do you use?
It almost looks like the rail is made of plastic like it was a square tube of plastic or even a hot wheels track lol
I went on the old Big Dipper as a teen in the 70s and swore never again. Adreneline is just not my cup of tea. So it's great to watch this video from my comfy chair!
We had an incredible time working the in the 70s. Initially the Dodgems and then Wild Cat. Testing the rides B4 each shift was GR8.
@@bondioneohfourthree7488 Cool! I remember them. And I worked there in the mid-80s but in a ticket-booth so no adreneline there.
Lol I saw this on my homework book 😂
“The worlds first” doesn’t really sound like my idea of safe but I’ll still go on it 😁
Thumbs Up for the Ukraine Sky writing.

Hahahaha yess.. and the whole world needs to send all the money we can to Zelensky.. forget about problems in our own country.. give the money to the greatest comedian of all time. In fact instead of me paying my taxes to the government I will just transfer it straight to Zelenskis account. Hail the almighty Zelensky!! Give him more money everyone!!
@@카트지후 the Cold War never ended

Ah help I’m going to Luna park tommorow Sydney, I’m scared and I really love roller coasters but I’m particularly scared of this one ahh
I’ll tell you guys how it was
It as smooth as RMC raptor?
Is this park like a Royal Show
OMG I REMEMBER BEING THERE ON THAT DAY WITH THE UKRAINE IN THE SKY
Same bro
1:11 bruh moment in sky
Went in this 4 times
At first, I thought it was a hot wheels track
Looks like a way better ride than the jersey devil clones.
I went on this it was super scary! And fast
Big dippers great. It hurts your back and neck tho.
hey guys im going to six flags magic mountain for the first time, wish me like!
Wonder how many people have lost their dentures on this ride?
Dang can we get a short sentence on the ride?
I went there the same day as you, I notice the Ukraine in the sky
it goes faster than that
It looks like a hot wheels track 😂
launching with drive tyres is a... decision
I didnt go on lol
Damn at first I thought it was "Cocaine" on the sky, turns out it was "Ukraine"...sorry im too high
1:11 UKRAINE 💜💜💜
OK
will I die?
Nah it’s fine I went on it 9 times
Yes i tab another side and comeback, lmao

Any one see the ukrane thing in the air💀
面白そう!絶対に許さないからな!は?頑張れ!いつかお前の夢は叶う!
How are you know screaming haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
In Australia, the sky is literally filled with propaganda.
The cloud in the background says Ukraine!
Hell nah
LETS GO UKRAINE
Ukraine ❤
The Waffle House has found it’s new host
First
I honestly have to say this rollercoasters over rated. All the seats are incredibly jolty and feel like they arent secured on enough, If you wanna injure your spine and neck this is the place to go.
Ukraine is in the air
ukraine in the sky niceeee
"ukraine" in the sky make me laught. how on earth this can help?
By bringing people's attention to the atrocity that is happening there currently.
