This is super interesting, ambulances seem to be a like more cost effective to come by (where I am) but i hadn't considered them because of the roof height. This actually motivates me to reconsider ambulsnces over a shuttle
Look at the balls on you guys!!! Nice work! You are way younger than me and taking big freaking risks.....BRAVO!!! I just bought my first E450 shuttle and you definitely give my the "Just go for it" attitude.
Thank you for this comment, it made our day!!! So happy for you as you embark in the bus journey! Happy to answer any questions to the best of our ability if you ever need it! All the best!!!
We have been doing research on raising our roof on our ambulance that we just purchased. This is by far the easiest, cheapest, and quickest way to raise the roof! We are definitely going this route and are going to pretty much do exactly what you guys did!
Gosh you found this video! Best of luck and let us know if you have any questions happy to share our experience or any info. We are super happy with how it turned out!
So excited to see a new video pop up! Love you both and your creations and determination:) good luck on all the renovations and finding joy in all the small moments✨🌿☀️
So happy Zack can have that extra head space (mohawk space). Living in a small space definitely has challenges and I'm joyous stooping over is not a factor in your lives. Great progress on your ambulance build!!!
Thank you so much!!! Yes it ended up matching the exterior and blending right it in! Definitely a small roof raise but for us shorties it works wonders!!
Thank you!! More stable than any of the other methods we’ve seen since it’s a solid piece of wood! We waterproofed the wood from both sides, but it was extra since we tucked the metal under the roof on the top and on top of the wood in the bottom, it’s very very unlikely for water to get in only if there would to be damage to the roof itself!
Great point! We tried coming up with something for the bus but didn’t encounter rain enough in the road to make it a priority, sometimes we would take out one of our water tanks and collect it that way!

First, and so far only, roof raise I've seen on a Campulance. Nice. That's the biggest issue IMHO of an ambulance build. Nice solution.
Thank you so much Tom! Couldn’t agree more, so many of these trucks are great but too short. Very happy with how it turned out. Thanks for watching!

This roof raises is a whole lot more simple to assemble than some I’ve seen that weld metal all around but is it as strong?

Overhead bunker would had been a cool addition
Agreed!!! On the next one for sure!

Thank you!!!! It really was a smooth process which we couldn’t be happier about!!
Wow! That was brave! Then again, you always are.
Awww thank you! It certainly was outside our comfort zone
Awesome job! 🎉 The first i ever see! I can’t wait your next big idea! 😉
Thank you so much Angel! Excited to bring them all alive!
Looks good! From the outside I would have thought the vehicle came like that, you guys did a good job. lol my husband is 6'1" and would just fit

I would have put a bladder under the roof so that it could be a water catchment if boondocking and it rained you would have had water.
Great idea!!
What did you use for a moisture barrier to prevent mold in the roof raise, the wood touching the metal surface?
Sick! I love it!
Means the world coming from YOU! love and miss you guys, sad we didn’t get to see you :(
Love it!
Thank you!
This looks awesome! How stable has it been on the highway, and how waterproof is it? I'm thinking of doing a similar thing for my ambulance!

Very nice 😊
Thank you!
Why did you put the light bars back up does it make you feel important.
So we can repurpose them as outdoor lights
It's a little tough to hear your voices, the audio is a bit too quiet. As always, love to see the progress. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for the feedback Jake! And for watching our journey!
no one ever puts water catchment systems in their conversions.
