    Omg you two. First of all, #soulmategoals #financialgoals
    But I really love watching you! And seriously, Tasha, your style is amazing. Are your tops new? If they are, can you link them?? We would all purchase (and maybe you could link and make money off the affiliation?).
    My whole point is that I love you folks! I have cleaned up my finances but also reevaluated my time/money philosophy. My little family is going to Hawaii for Christmas and New Year's and I spent a mere $175 more per each person for our round trip tickets to have better flight times and a single layover under an hour!! I bought my time, which is worth way more that those tickets.
    Thank you so much!!

    I’m glad you mentioned time blocking! I would get nothing done without it (although I know it’s tricky to actually start). I time block “white space” too for that flexibility because even with a great plan it never goes as planned. Meaning you can plan for it I guess. 😆

    • @OneBigHappyLife
      @OneBigHappyLife  5 років тому +3

      I stand by that 100%. There are times when you need to bring your A-game, for sure. And it's important to learn when those times are. But frankly, for oh so many things, B- work is more than enough. Striving to always produce an A in everything is a recipe for burnout. Not to mention the Pareto principle which says that 20% of our effort leads to 80% of our results. So you can always burn through the other 80% to get that last 20% in that one endeavor or you can accept B- and get more done.--Tasha

    I think this is so unfair that you said you should always be perfect when you're a surgeon. I felt left out... I always relate to your videos but this time I feel really bad :( I'm a doctor at the beginning of my career and I'm really struggling to believe that I'm at least good enough to do my job and now you're telling me that as a doctor I should be perfect or not at all. Doctor are humans too... I'm not planning to be a surgeon, but I think that good enough performance in medicine is OK too. I don't believe it is in any way possible to be a perfect doctor, mistakes are unavoidable.

    • @alexianedidrick251
      @alexianedidrick251 5 років тому +1

      If you had a bad health issue would you go to an average surgeon or the best surgeon you know? Of course you would go to the best, we all would because we all want to have the best outcome possible. Yet we also know surgeons are humans and can make mistakes and that's fine what is not okay is negligence and approximations when someone's life or someone's quality of life is at stake...

    • @OneBigHappyLife
      @OneBigHappyLife  5 років тому +6

      Hi Nan, unfortunately there are times when as close as possible to A+ work is what's expected-- and rightly so. I couldn't do B - client work as a lawyer. That's a recipe for my clients losing millions and me losing my license. And the information we give here on OBHL? 100% A+ info. We strive for perfection in the information we provide. Our B- work comes in the execution. So we don't hire a video team and graphic designer to make the video look like a full television production. We sit in our dining room and shoot our own stuff. B-. For many doctors and surgeons the stakes are even higher because people's lives are in your hands. Not to mention that if you keep making mistakes you risk losing your job and your license right?
      Having said that, I do want to talk about your feelings of worth and your ability to believe in yourself. Here's the thing, that doctors really must strive to not make mistakes is just a fact. It's the nature of the job. But thoughts you are having about what you are capable of or what's possible for you, those are all thoughts you are having--limiting beliefs that are keeping you from moving into growth and action. I suggest considering speaking to a therapist or life coach to help you overcome those blocks. Because you were born enough. Now you just need to believe it and take action.--Tasha

    • @nanwindow1417
      @nanwindow1417 5 років тому +1

      @@OneBigHappyLife Thank you for your answer. I'm guessing you don't know that much about medicine and that's fine, because that's not your thing. The truth is... where I'm at many doctors are average and below average. I consider a doctor to be an average doctor when they strive to keep people safe and refer them to better doctors when they feel like it's beyond their competence. I really feel like "fake it till you make it" is a common thing in healthcare. Only people from the outside don't realize that... Hence the many lawsuits against doctors, when you make an obvious mistake and someone finds out they're like: you must be stupid and should lose your license... But the truth is, mistakes are a common thing, doctors see each other's mistakes daily and you just try to forget that a lawsuit can happen anytime. The stress of it is beyond me so I'm considering doing research jobs or working for a pharmaceutical company because I just know I'm lacking loads of knowledge and I'm not well prepared to face stress daily. I thought thinking that good enough performance would be fine would relieve some of that stress... well I guess not everyone should be a doctor;)

    • @nanwindow1417
      @nanwindow1417 5 років тому

      @@alexianedidrick251 Yeah you're right and we should never make important decisions when we're not sure about the outcome, but it's possible to just be good enough and refer a seriously ill person to another doctor (for example when you are a family doctor). One person just cannot be perfect, of course we should try.

    • @ichephren
      @ichephren 5 років тому

      As someone who has been both a lawyer and a doctor I would have to agree with Nan. The reality of medicine is that there is an infinite amount of information for physicians to know. Medical training is also imprecise in that you just cannot learn everything you need to learn during training. Every doctor no matter how expert has areas of lower competence. The way we compensate is by relying on each other for consult and constant never ending study. What Nan is feeling is extremely common in medicine especially where most practitioners hold themselves to such a high standard. I do agree though that if this is preventing you from functioning you may want to get therapy.
