The King and Queen Consort have arrived in Dunfermline in their first official engagement since the end of Royal Mourning for Queen Elizabeth II.
King Charles will formally mark the conferral of City status on Dunfermline.
The Scottish town was one of eight to be awarded city status as part of Her late Majesty’s platinum jubilee celebrations.

"I have to be seen to be believed." It's important for him to be seen by the people to the extent his and his wife's official schedule and energy levels permit in order to be accepted as the symbol of the people. In effect that is their job: to connect with as many UK people as possible in ways politicians, movie and TV stars cannot: celebrities who draw the attention to the people they serve at least as much as to themselves. That was the Queen's amazing skill: always to make it clear that for her, the star of the show was whatever soldier, whatever nurse, whatever street vendor, whatever local mayor, etc. she was visiting or was visiting her. The King and Queen Consort seem to be making a good start of following that model.
The King certainly knows how to relate to the crowd. He looks to enjoy it.
As the queen would say there is work to be done let get at it.

As an American, it warms my heart greatly to see King Charles' people appreciate him so much. Here in the USA, we're just a little bit poorer for only having mud-slinging politicians and elite celebrities.

Queen consort Camilla is wonderful! How down to earth she is, to tap on her husband shoulder casually, no matter what... I love this woman!
And she really takes an interest in what people say to her, often she engages in a real 2 way conversation, no matter how short a time she gets from the security.
