Thanks a lot - despite conditions, I enjoyed that bass session; and I would swap what we are going through at the moment for sitting out in the sun without much happening!
Another cracking video rods.. Some nice bass there mate... Not much showing here locally to me.. But still got to get out en give it a go... Keep the vids coming mick I always enjoy en keeps me sane seeing I'm back on furlong again... Deffo thumbs up mate 👍👍👍👍
Thanks again Andy👍 I've only been out a couple of times myself during this lockdown, since local fishing isn't good where I am at the moment and my elbow keeps playing up. I've got plenty of unused old footage, but I'm reluctant to put it out without adding fish caught to it! Though I might have to review that policy, if things don't improve soon! Keep going - its probably better to be out trying, whilst still allowed to, than sitting inside thinking about it.
@@rodsangleuk6283 yeah I'm lucky where I live in burry port, 5mins walk en I'm on the beach.. Fishing not been the best cause of all the rain water coming down the estuary.. The joys of getting old mick I'm 50 and its hard work carrying your gear down but got to be done.. Keep safe and well look forward to the next video.. All the best rods👍👍
Interesting to see your fishing on 27/08/2020, it was a neap tide to me, but in this case neap tide seemed to be fishing well as long as right the wind and wave height come in at the right time, another lesson to learn. Well done.
Thanks Rod keep the videos coming.Like you i find Galloways hit and miss but i have had more species there than dungie a first for me this autumn an Allis shad.
Those first two sessions were hard going, I know what it's like, I've had three sessions on my local estuary recently & I've only managed one Dab!! It's all the fresh water in the estuary I think. That last session was a blinder though, lots of schoolies with a couple of chunks thrown in for good measure, well done, great effort as usual!
Thanks Paul. It's also hard going digging bait at the moment - I'm not finding much locally, never mind catching anything! Will be out soon though, if my elbow's not playing up and the weather's OK. Best wishes.
Wow what a days fishing , considering what your previous two visits were like , it definitely pays to be patient. The weather change defiantly made the difference 👍
Excellent video but coming from you I would be very surprised at anything less. Those first two sessions definitely lacked fish but at least the weather was kind! That third session was marvellous in all respects. I do so want to drown a few worms. I wonder how long it will be before we can get out? Stay safe and stay healthy. Cheers. Ken
Very enjoyable viewing Rod. Have watched dozens of your uploads👍 A question from a novice beach angler. I haven’t seen you fish any larger elasticated baits like squid and mackerel. Is there a reason?
Thanks for watching @Lackeys leap. I do fish big baits, if there's a good chance of catching something decent and I'm targeting a species in particular; if I know that they are there that is. Those videos will come at some point - but there are plenty of videos already out there of others doing that and blanking or just catching the odd fish - I'm trying to avoid that. I come from a coarse match fishing background - I wouldn't be fishing boilies for a carp that might not be there, or not feeding, if I could catch 30lb of roach on maggots instead.
Another great video, thanks Rod. Quick question for you: I'm thinking if buying one of the Ridge Monkey seat buckets you have there. How do you find it generally? Any downsides? At 35l, I'm thinking the XL should offer plenty of storage. Thanks in advance 👍
Thanks Simon. I have two of these buckets - one with and one without the Cozee seat. The reason I got mine was that it is more comfortable to sit on for me and less strain on the knees, being higher up than a Shakespeare beta type box or chair. It's sturdy enough and the backrest is great ( and the fact that you can remove he seat to put on a seawall etc. ), but over time the pins do come loose - I've lost one, but a nut and bolt easily fits to replace that. I tend not to overload mine - being something extra to carry by hand, but am pleased I got them and I know that my camera gear is safe inside should it rain.
@@rodsangleuk6283 Thanks for the reply. I have a Shakespeare box for the reels, tacklecetx, but am going to get a trolley to transport it to save my back. The bucket would be to carry bait, hand towels, flask etc and would become the main seat as I'd leave the box on the trolley throughout the session. Sounds like the bucket is the ideal solution I'm after. Thanks again.
@@rodsangleuk6283 sorry to hear your not 100% mate hope your OK soon... En don't rush on content make sure your OK 1st... Look forward to seeing your vids in the future.. Stay safe en well mick... 👍👍
Outstanding. Learnt more in twenty minutes watching this than hours of other videos. Great angling!
Glad it was helpful and thanks for watching!
I’d love to see a video of you arriving at your mark carrying all of your fishing gear. The amount you carry amazes me.love your channel, great work.
I'll remember to try and put that in sometime. Thanks for watching Kerry.
A masterclass in bass fishing Rod. And lovely to see some footage of a warm summer evening... I've forgotten what they feel like!

Good video Rod good cod venue
I know it was one of the best around but haven't heard anything coming out in the last few years tbh have you?
Thanks Mark - it was once, but now a bass venue, if you hit it right!
Can throw up some nice sole in the evening there.
There should be some potential to catch one if conditions are right. I live in Yorkshire now they seem to catch them up here

Thanks again Ken - you're not missing much. Might be different where there's open sea, but estuaries aren't much use at the moment.
Hi Rod whiting flounder and small bass at tankerton a nice day
Thanks for letting me know Simon and I'm glad you had a good session - I hope to be back at Whitstable and Seasalter within the next few weeks.

Hi Rod, your third session is a stuff of dreams for most anglers, which size hooks were you using?
Thanks for that - from size 2 to 2/0.
