    Stopped drinking sugary drinks and started MCT and fasting. Whent from a 42 waist to a 32 waist in 6 months. I have more energy and I can think on the spot. This really does work and I am in better shape now than I was at 25 as a soldier. I am 40 now and feel like I can do pretty much anything ;)

    So, I rarely leave comments on anyone page but I love your channel. Now that you and your wife have had a child at home maybe you could do a keto based meal prep or snacks video for busy Moms (or dads)? I have two little ones at home and I’m always looking for fun/healthy snacks that I can enjoy and my toddler can appreciate too! (Not that she’s eating keto...but she likes to eat what I’m eating!)
    Thanks!

    MCT cant denaturate because it has no 3rd or 2nd order structure. It cant desintegrate on pan as well because it has boiling temperature of 260 celsius. So its safe to cook.

  • @mmgibson1
    @mmgibson1 7 років тому +5

    Great that you mention coconut oil is superior for cooking, Thomas - it has a higher smoke point than MCT oil does, which means it will not cause scary things to happen in your frying pan that will set off the smoke detector and ruin your peace. MCT oil is useful because it is temperature stable and it will not turn back into a solid if you add it to a cold drink, so each has its uses, but of the 2 pure coconut oil is better for you. Unless you are prone to digestive woes from either of them, then they are not.

      I think like most supplemental kind of things that depends on the person. I mean I take probiotics regularly and some people can't. Another thing that people don't account for is the fact that a lot of people don't have any idea how to diagnose themselves. They don't pay attention to their bodies and they mistake one thing for another. I don't feel any bloating from any of this stuff in fact when I do these kind of things these oils on a regular basis my gut feels more pliable if that makes any sense I don't feel as bloated or as heavy I guess. I mean I've never taken more than anyone has said to take, a tablespoon or two a day so I don't know what would happen if you overdid it but yeah just my opinion.

    What about Avocado oil compared to these two?

    • @amgoo12
      @amgoo12 5 років тому +4

      Completely different thing. Long chain fatty acids with a lot of unsaturation (omega 3 and 6, which can behave as antioxidant and are great for forming cell membranes) Be sure to not fry with avocado oil, its best to keep it cold and use it for salads. as the unsaturated fat might turn into trans fat. Furthermore I would add that avocado oil is not worth the price, at least in europe.

    My problem with MCT oil is that you’re going against NATURE when you strip the Lauric acid out. Most ALL plant matter works best in synergy with various Phytochemicals thus providing the best benefits. If you 100% believe in NATURE as your guide and NOT corporate America trying to sell you something... Ask yourself, why is there 50% Lauric acid, 6% caprylic and 10% capric acids in coconut oil. Probably because it works BEST that way since NATURE made it that way. It’s nature in its PUREST FORM that cures. You cannot outsmart nature.
    Do you see cancer, diabetes, heart disease in wild animals that have not been controlled by humans? Do they have the capacity to extract Lauric acid from coconut oil? There are many things science will NEVER be able to figure out, if it could then we would live forever with zero diseases....science is an oxymoron!

    You are a bit tangled up, Thomas, regarding the distinction between fatty acids and triglycerides. A triglyceride contains, typically, three fatty acids attached to its glycerol "backbone," making it technically a triester. So, caproic acid is not a triglyceride, it's a fatty acid, but it could be a component of a triglyceride. The three fatty acids in a triglyceride do not have to be the same type and in general they won't be unless a lot of refining or synthetic chemistry is involved (to make Keto8, for example, which is made of "99%" caprylic acid). It's easy to get "triglyceride" and "fatty acid" tangled up. Finally, you might curb your enthusiasm a bit when recommending coconut oil for sauteing, because it has a low smoke point. Avocado oil might be a better choice.

      @@aprillittle595 caprilyic acid does not create an insulin or digestive response, so it is safe to use with IF. It can also help the cells utilize glucose without the need for insulin, according to other videos I have watched, which is interesting for those who are battling insulin resistance like myself. Still trying to figure it out for sure, no one really knows exactly if it breaks your fast or not, but you're safest with the shorter chains and caprylic acid seems to be the one that is utilized easiest by the brain and body for energy. Bulletproof Brain Octane is 100% caprylic acid and it makes me feel so good in too many ways to list. Hope this helps, like I said, still navigating it myself.

    Sir, its a very helpful video, but I would suggest you to breakdown your language to a more simplified one so that non technically also one can know the most out of it. Good video content though, keep it up.

    Love your channel. Viewer from Malaysia. Keto diet for approximately 3 weeks now. Does drinking coffee increase blood sugar and insulin in the body, kicking us out of ketosis?

    • @AdamFong
      @AdamFong 7 років тому

      Ok. Noted on that. I stopped cold turkey on milk with coffee and now on americano. Here in Malaysia, sugar is normally added to anything especially hot beverages. I was reading something about caffeine triggering glucose production and hence insulin also is produced in the blood. I understand that when insulin is produced, we burn glucose rather than fat. So I just wanted to be careful in trying not to be out of ketosis. Thanks Tae

    how about liquid coconut oil? It still has lauric acid but it's got more in the way of MCTs. Is that good to cook with?

  • @sonnywolf383

    This is what I know, the saturated fat in extra virgin coconut oil non-refine non GMO organic is ( medium-chain triglycerides) doesn't require bile to break down and read the following:
    This is real life real story ;
    I had Gallstones and have 2 friends had gallstones, they took (1 tbsp coconut oil mixed with 8 oz fresh green Apple juice) every morning before any food, their stones gone after 2 month I started May 25th 2020 hopefully mine are gone too in 2 month too, 2 days later, light urine, brown stool , constipation gone, bloated stomach gone, June 14th, no attack since May 25th, every now and then I feel movement in my gallbladder like something move in slow motion could be gas from bowel but no pain, hope it was contraction from gallbladder pushing the stones out. July 21st I got another ultrasound, all gallstones gone. there are few polyps measure up to 2 mm, doctor sent me the report also stated no more follow up needed:)
    ps* I also took 4 to 6 oz of celery juice to help enlarge the bile duck before the Coconut oil mix.. zero attack since taking this remedy and stones gone in 2 months. use my remedy I can provide you my ultrasound reports before and after used of coconut oil if you have doubt. I'm eating bacon, shrimp, super spicy Korean food, they don't do crap to my gallbladder

    Hi Thomas
    I have purchased mct oil costing £17
    Content is c8 =fifty two.3 per cent
    C10 =forty.two per cent
    C12=0.nine per cent
    Will the C12 being a long chain compromise the efficiency of the other two ie interfere with quick ketone production
    Really hope you can answer as l am waiting to begin my keto life!!
    Many thanks

    I’ve been watching your videos for some time now along with Dr Berg. Though you have much more nutritional science info you share, your videos are hard to follow because the pictures you use while talking are distracting. They pull the mind away from what you’re saying just enough to lose track. So I’m constantly having to back up 20 seconds and catch what it was you said before being distracted by some stupid image or video that is trying too hard to be relevant. For example the picture of gems in this video. Just because you say “gem” doesn’t mean we need to see a 3 sec clip of rotating gems. Please stop. You’ll get more viewers and and followers because your videos will be better to watch rather than just listen to. Hope you take a moment to read and profit from some constructive criticism. Man you’re smart on this stuff! Thanks for your videos!
