What a great video. I watched your “why WHQ is so great” video yesterday. Such good vibes in both; love it. I don’t know who Gulthor is supposed to be but he sounds pretty great. You live in Asturias? Oh man, I am so jealous. I am a cyclist and while I’m fortunate to have some mountains very close by, I’d love to ride all over the ones behind your home. In 2023 my wife and I were watching Classica San Sebastián, Itzulia Basque Country and of course La Vuelta. The north of Spain is so beautiful I would love to live there. You are very fortunate.
Hey Dan! Thanks for the comment. It was so nice to see you liked my craziness 😀 Gulthor is a chaos warrior on one of the Heroquest's adventures, one of the early quests in the original game. If you ever play it, you will find him there! I am not living in Asturias -I am from Asturias, but I do not live there! I am in Malaysia now. My daytime job is teaching, so I work in schools here and there. But I do go back to Spain in the summer, which is when these videos happen! My brother is an Enduro fan, so he has plenty of places to cycle here. But if you are a road enthusiast, check out El Fitu, or if you want to try the mountains behind me, that would be El Huerna 😉 See you around!
This is my favorite video and not sure if I ever commented on it when I saw it. Just loved seeing your home town and watching you and your friend playing Warhammer again after all these years ❤ and all the swearing in Spanish about the game and rules 😂 classic!
best games are one with silly friends :D nice gaming set up too! very much 90s vibe with the pure green board. keep having great times, whatever the game or edition!
Another great video mate, with a bit more lighting, small touch up and a few more cameras.. you and your friends can probably live stream or make battle reports (explaining rules and small tutorials) of "Old world" once a month (granted friends are able to get time off to film, deciding which armies to match, someone to run cameras etc..) thanks to Pervida for helping out.
The issue is I need to be home to do that, but I live 10000 km away (6000 miles!) and it isn't feasible to do so at the moment. But, yeah: I would love to make battle reports like this. Crazy fun playing with Pevida and some other friends I have!
That's great to show the background of the battle. Almost every time I play, I have to go for something like that. Normally my friends don't do army lists, so I have to build something competitive between two armies, and assemble everything, the table and terrain and a bunch of crap. After everything is done and the battle is played, it was worthy. But it tires a lot. When I was a part of a Wargaming group things were a little bit more simpler.
@@rushthewash Yeah man. Most of the time, that's my reality if I want to play, there aren't many players around anymore, and the ones that do, just play the newer stuff, so you gotta do what you gotta do if you want to play older stuff. 3D printing helped me a lot also, being from a 3rd World Country, importing GW stuff is prohibited. Normally me and my friends play One Page Rules, Older versions of 40k, and I'm building some armies for Warhammer Fantasy 6th Edition/Armies Project. Good thing, the armies stay with me, The bad thing is that there are a lot of preparations to play, but that's part of the hobby. The name is in fact Romanian but I'm not. Cheers.
@V0IV0DE Well, honestly, I am facing the same issue at the moment, only that I do not paint or prepare whole armies to play with people here, but I do prepare board games. A big part of the experience for me is going to play with people bringing new stuff themselves, so I can check their minis, their conversions and paintjobs, and discuss the hobby in general. If I do everything and the other person comes just to play, it would be fine, but I would be missing something important for me 😞 You are a hero. This is a jealous hobby, and if people want to play other stuff besides WHFB, no wonder they don't dedicate to it fully. And if money is short, then there is even less chance of that happening. Keep doing the work you do: you are a hobby hero!
@@rushthewash With your Channel I hope more people will come and eventually you have to do less(in therms of list building, all the scenarios and other specific things). Happy new year Miguel my friend ❤ I absolutely frigging loved this video. So many cool things it was brilliant to see you and friend having so much fun and banta. Always enjoy your content but this was something else 🔥 Wishing you all the best in 2024 stew🤜
Thank you very much for your kind words. I am considering talking a little bit more about the place, as it is somewhat also related to my love of Warhammer. Some things simply come packed together, I guess. I am hitting the gym less than before, but it is one of the things I need to be more consistent about. Getting older requires being more disciplined in trying to take care of yourself. And to avoid doing silly stuff like drinking much! I know you loving the outdoors so much will definitely help you in your goals!

I never played any tabletop fantasy games beyond Hero Quest and Battle Masters...so why is 5th Edition so important to everybody? Sorry if I have missed something! 😅
It is the last Middlehammer edition, the distillation of the 90s era, the colourful paintjobs, tables full of green meadows and Imperial villages. It is the time of the articles in WD where the Tale of Four Painters happened, the era of Rick Priestley, Fat Bloke, Jack Thornton, Gary Morley, Trish Carden, the Perry Twins, Gav Thorpe, Mike McVey... there are many to name here, but it is the time many of us learned about a new universe, found out about wargames, and learned to play with miniatures. This is why old farts like myself here find it so appealing. It is a generational thing.
@@rushthewash Thanks, I guess we are at the same age but as I said, not much contact with WHFB...but I totally agree on the nostalgia effects those 80s/ 90s games have on us. I mean, I paid 20 Euros for the White Dwarf issue that introduced Battle Masters...😁
Hahaha! Close! It is the basement of my family house, which used to be where animals were kept (old houses had cattle and other livestock underneath where people lived, as a means to use the heat of the animals to warm the house too!). One of the corners there shows a half l-demolished bread oven, and they probably used this as a smoking chamber for meats some time ago, hence the soot on the walls. The house is old and was built on top of older structures. Who knows what this place was used for originally...
Who is joining me in Warhammer The Old World?
