This Afternoon Play, based on the story by William Boyd, was broadcast during the Christmas season in 2001; I think there may be some discussion to be had as to exactly how ghostly it really is, much less how Christmassy - but it's been repeated over Christmas a couple of times in recent years so somebody in scheduling obviously thinks it fits the bill as a 'ghost story for Christmas'...

cliques favourites . Why , I really cannot comprehend. The epitome of the bland ,middle class scribbler with nothing to say. Well connected though obviously .Which in Britain is the main thing..!

I'm afraid I didn't actually make this radio play so I can't account for their creative decisions.

It's part of the story. He's in a bar.
It's in the radio adaptation. You could turn it down when there is background music to denote a party or bar scene etc.
