    In today's video, we're taking an in-depth look at the new Glowforge Aura, the latest release from the Glowforge lineup that promises to revolutionize your crafting experience. Replacing the Glowforge Basic, the Aura seems more portable and compact - a size that competes directly with the likes of Cricut machines.
    The Glowforge Aura, despite being smaller, still requires an air filter or window venting system, much like its predecessors. With a reduction of 6 inches of printing space, it's worth questioning if the switch from the Glowforge Plus or Pro is worth it. That said, for crafters with limited workspace, the Aura's space-saving design could be a game-changer.
    It's important to note, the Glowforge Aura is only available for purchase in-person at select retail stores. This move by Glowforge presents a hurdle for online content creators who thrived on the referral system previously offered by the brand.
    Spec-wise, the Aura comes with a 6W laser, which is a significant step down from the 40W to 45W lasers offered in the Basic to Pro Glowforge models. For detailed specs and an on-hand review, make sure to watch the video.
    In this video, I'll be discussing all of these points and more, to give you an in-depth understanding of the Glowforge Aura. How does it compare to other Glowforge models? And can it really stand up to the likes of Cricut? You'll have to tune in to find out!
    If you're thinking about investing in the performance series of Glowforge machines, I have an exclusive discount code which can be found above. Unfortunately, I can't provide any discounts for the Aura model.
    I appreciate your support and look forward to your feedback. Let me know in the comments what you'd like to see in future videos. Whether you're a Glowforge aficionado or a newcomer to the world of laser printing, stay tuned for more Glowforge and crafting content. Don't forget to like, share, and subscribe!

    The Aura is not a co2 laser this is diode laser. These are two different types of lasers so you can't compare Glowforge co2 lasers to the new diode laser. You will need to compare Aura to other diode lasers made from other manufacturers to see if it's a good deal or not.

      @@nicolelamarca3111Yes - Diode lasers use a different wavelength, meaning they can't cut some materials such as clear acrylic. Also, diode lasers are much less powerful. (Compare the glowforge co2's 45w to this diode's 5w)

    • @logoidea4u
      @logoidea4u 11 місяців тому

      Is a 6w diode laser, no powerful enough, when the standar right now is 10w and above on a diode laser market, they are way better diode laser machines, faster , powerful and cheaper!

      I had been thinking that's what it had to be - CO2 lasers are bulky for a reason. I just wish they would be upfront about it. I'll admit, it was late, but when I went digging last night I could not find the wattage, or any other information on what type of laser it was.
      My other concern would be whether they are still keeping it Cloud locked. In the end, that was the deal breaker for the regular Glowforge, and why I eventually went for the Laserbox. And while I'm not happy that they stopped some of their support for the Laserbox when they went to xTool and the P2, it does appear that the P2 has corrected some of the other issues I had with the Laserbox - one part being Lightburn support. The company software is okay, but Lightburn is far more versatile, and yet still fairly easy with the basics - or at least was with the diode I had before I got my CO2.
      Swinging back to the Aura... I'll agree it looks nicer - less "industrial" than the enclosures Otur, and Creality(maybe?) have brought out, and the camera is a big plus for me... but in the end, it's breaks down to being a lower powered diode with a built-on enclosure and camera. I'd have to see a lot more before I'd consider it over the Otur, xTool D1, or Creality Falcon. Or the xTool F1, but that's currently in a class of its own, and I was kind of hoping the Aura would be its competition.

    I have both a pro and an Aura and like when the co2 units hit the street, they have some settings to dial in before it is great but that will come in time. Speaking of time, it is excruciatingly slow if you are used to a pro. If you have nothing to compare it to then the speed is okay."Worth it" is of course subjective but if someone can live in a 12x12 cut area and needs to cut 1/8" ply or some acrylic where a bladed hobby cutter just won't do the job I think it is well worth it.

      @@SamCanDo oh I get it. But in your video you asked if it was helpful. I replied with my honest opinion. It was very disappointing to have HSN launch it and they didn’t even go over specs or show much at all. I think this was a horrible choice of Glowforge to only do a 6W laser. Kind of a joke. I had ordered it but since finding out only 6w cancelled. I let Glowforge know and their response to me stated it was a conscious decision to only use 6w. I get your honest opinion. I think Glowforge dropped the ball in this launch thinking crafters will not know the difference of 6w vs 10w vs 20w. I appreciate the little info you did give though. I believe you are the only one that actually gave the specs. So Koodo’s to you for that.

    I feel like you don't know a whole lot about the subject. Diode lasers vs CO2 lasers are entirely different. The diode laser in the Aura is pretty small compared to what comparable priced diode lasers are coming with now and some things they do less (no clear acrylic or glass) but other things with the more powerful diodes are even surpassing co2 lasers even if they are significantly slower. At one point you even said you were comparing the xcarve and the glowforge. Those aren't even the same type of tool. The glowforge is obviously a co2 laser but the xcarve is a CNC machine. Sorry but I don't feel like you are qualified to inform anyone as to whether the Aura is "worth it" or not.

    Is a BS laser machine, is only 6w out put, diode laser machine, very expensive, you can buy a better complete 10w laser sistem , more powerful and faster!! The Aura machine is a rip off, is not a CO2 laser machine like the glowforge, no is not is a 6 w diode laser machine, right now the standard in the diode laser market is 10w and above, is a POS product!!
    Research a little bit more and you will find the amazing diode laser machines in the market, 10w and above, that you can buy with less than a $500 dollars, do your homework.
