Wow very scary 😧 pray everyone stays safe and all the critters find safety 🙏🙏 Thank you Captain Andy for the report and please keep us updated 🥰 Stay dry and safe and God Bless and Gods Speed 🙏. See ya 🤗🤗
It's natural and needed for healthy ecosystems. People just say it's scary because the foresty service puts out these natural summer fires which do much good for the habitat. It's been happening for thousands of years, long before we came along intervening in everything.
Captain Andy, Sad to see that!!! Georgia Forestry is top notch!!! Some Rangers from this district up here that are in Wildland Fire Division go to Okefenokee Swamp as needed to assist Rangers with Fire Suppression. Fella that lives close to me, operates heavy dozier grading fire breaks. He had a close call about 6 years ago when fire doubled back on his Cat driven by fire tornado wind. He bailed out of the Cat just in time but the Dozier burned up. Thank You for the video, research and information about St Catherine’s Island. The two fires at opposite ends of the Island raises questions about the possible cause. Was lightning in the area is always first guess on Wildland Fires.
Hated hearing about that. Georgia’s Coast and Mountains are the most beautiful part of our state. Thanks for letting us know about this Capt Andy and stay safe out there in the Sound.
Andy, thank you for good, accurate reporting. So sorry to see this, but nature rules. I did a lot of my research on SCI and your history of the island, and ongoing research was pretty spot on. Thanks again for that-so many people don't understand the island. I was last over there in 2012. I think I may have met you (you look familiar from a photo I took in 2010, me on shore on the bluff, you in a boat catching fish by the dock on the east side of the island, just north of McQueen's Inlet). Take care. I hope to get back over there soon, been going off and on since 1984.
I assume there is no fire fighting going on being it’s an island. Is there any areas that will act as a fire break or could this consume the whole island? There seems to be quite a few structures that could be in danger.

Thanks for rhe update Capt. I can't believe that they saved all the Lemures.
They surely did not. Lemurs are like cats, they hide with fear.

Very Interesting, thanks for sharing. Hope y'all are ready for a great Independence Day on the island.
THE ISLAND? THERE ARE MANY. Contrary to what you believe...SSI is a cesspool of an island.

Thanks for the comment! I’ve done some other videos on other Georgia barrier Islands. I hope to complete the Georgia coastline. MM
Hey Andy !! ""CONGRATS "" as getting close to 11K Subscribers !!! 🙃🙃😉😊🤠😎😮 Thanks for the updates & ""STAY SAFE "" yourself !!!
Oh man that’s terrible! So hard to get under control on an island

Suppression activity is on going by the Georgia Forestry Commission. Aircraft water drops as well wildland fire fighters are engaged there. MM
Lightning strike? 95f + degress doesn't help matters. Hope the lemers are safe.
Oh no, hope the lemurs are going to be ok😥
They are not native to the U.S. so they should not be there in the first place.
@@Hayyyward So they should immolate? Nice guy.
@@christinem9183 "immolate"? What word is that?
Hope everyone is safe. 🙏🏽
Looks like great Rattlesnake Country just got only better. *AND WHO COULD POSSIBLY BE AGAINST THAT?*
