Rather than use vaseline on Glad Wrap, you could put it on a clear filter (wait, I know).
Instead of screwing it on and off, you could use a Kase Wolverine adaptor to magnetically attach it to a Case or Freewell (or presumably anyone else's) magnetic base. Now the filter just pops on and off. If you wanted to get really sneaky, you could screw a SECOND clear filter on top of the first one, sealing the vaseline inside so there is no mess to worry about. Yes, you are putting two layers of glass in front of your lens, but if you are putting plastic wrap and vaseline on it, you aren't trying to get maximum sharpness in that particular shot.
And, you could use those adaptors for any other filters (Star filter, ND, CPL, Gradients, etc). Kase is the only brand I saw that clearly states that they make the 'adapt your threaded filters.'
I have several lenses that all have the same size filter threads, so this works pretty well for me. Of my 'portrait' lenses, the odd one out is smaller so a step down ring (with magnets) keeps me covered.
The wings mixed with the dreamy vibe were super cool un this shots. ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
Thank youuu!🙏🏼💫
Love your channel Faye! You should invest or ask a company to have you show off a PRO MIST filter. Your way works however you’re going to love PRO MIST
You are a great photographer and teacher! Thank you for sharing.
Thank you! Happy to hear you enjoyed it 😊
Amazing photos! The golden rays came out the best!
Thank you!! 😊
One of my fav vids! Love the dreamy forest vibes! 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you!! Happy you like it 🙌
Very niice! Amazing model and concept. Shooting around green area does spill a green tint to your model's face. Sometimes come in handy a reflector or a flash with CTO gel to emulate the golden sun light. I looove the last shots, I wished the sunlight hit the whole wings like a kicker light would, to give more 3d pop look. Lighting and location are so important, sometime you need to improvise... Thanks for sharing!
Definitely true! And that’s a very good tip! 🙌
‘Natural light’ almost always benefits from a bit of tweaking- reflectors/flags/ strobes can turn excellent into great- and can turn mediocre light into excellent… Just look at any movie production BTS…
Amazing work and shots 🔥
Thank you! 🙌
I have to say - the result is really sick. Everything is on the point. 100% top
Ahh thankyou! I really appreciate that😊

Ah thank you! Means a lot 😁
I think it’s awesome how you made a video on that Vaseline trick and actually use it now. I tried it a few weeks ago and got some nice results😊
Yaaay! Happy to hear that! It’s such a simple yet effective trick 👌
Awesome shots!!
Thanks a lot! 🙏🏼
Great video, deffo gunna try the Vaseline trick soon :)

Happy to hear you enjoyed it! 😊
Great video!!
Thank you! 🙏🏼
very nice idea keep it up or just try to integrate glass balls 😄😄
Thank you!! 🙌
Great idea.
Amazing shots and toning. I like to "ungreen" plants in my photos as well, it helps giving warmer tones
Exactly! 😊
This behind the sense. Was amazing I learned a lot I’m hope u will. Do more
Thank youu! Happy you liked it 🙌
Wonderful shoot 😍 Great work
Thank you! 🙏🏼
Good to see someone taking pictures with wings :)
just got home a couple myself can hardly wait until you get to shoot with them
How cool are they! You can create such a nice vibe with them
And using flash will look even better in a darker forest shot 😆
David Hamilton was the master of the vaseline on the lens soft focus. Though it was never really established how he exactly did it. I would say that using an ND with a light film of vaseline would be the way to go. Clingfilm just looks messy.
Thanks for the behind the scenes of your shoot. Good insights into how you approach things.
Thank you! Happy to hear that 🙌
Great Photos 😊
Great Video 😊
Thank's Faye😊👍
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it 🙌
Great Work! Nice Photos
Thank you! Appreciate it🙏🏼
such an amazing, love all your videos and your approach to photography! :) how many photos you take usually per photo shoot?
For this shoot I shot around 400 photos 😊
Thank you! 🙏🏼
Another great shoot and video (y)
Ah thanks a lot! 🙏🏼
I love your videos. Your explanations make it so interesting and easy to follow. You are not just showing the end product but you show how you get there. Great video. Keep them coming. Have a great day.
Thank you! I am so happy to hear that. I’m really enjoying creating them 😊
I really like how you shoot the model in the woods
Thank you! I love shooting in Nature 🙌
Great stuff! Have you ever used a LensBaby or similar tilt/shif/freelens approach as an alternative to the vaseline & cling-film tick?
Also I agree - from experience shoots can go completely off track for reasons outside our control, but as long as we keep in mind the creative purpose of a shoot, there are always alternative locations and ideas. A bit of extra research for fall-backs goes a long way.
Nice video! Thank you for interesting and useful content!
Thank you! Very happy to hear it was helpful to you 🙌
These dreamy shots with the vaseline were so good! Great work Faye! 🙂
Thank you! Appreciate it🙌
Great video. I really appreciated how you explained the important aspects of photography, such as lighting and composition. Your simple and understandable way of explaining helped me better understand these topics. Furthermore, your approach to photo editing is very interesting and useful. I take inspiration from you and look forward to your future videos.
Thank you for your positive attitude. I wish you lots of success in your photography journey 📸
Hey! Thank you so much for your kind words. I really appreciate that. I can’t wait to create more, I am very excited. This journey has already been amazing and so worth it. Thank you for your support 💙
Good thinking/planning and great end results.... where did you get the wings from?

Another superb video. This and Batman have both been brilliant. Great style to your videos too 👌🏼
Thank you!! Really appreciate it 🙏🏼
🙌
Que coisa mais linda. Parabéns
I loved this so much. I’m just getting ready to start taking my first proper shoots (as in - not photographing my family) - I’m so excited 🎉❤
Yay! Thank you, go for it 🔥
Magical indeed loved the wings it gave the shoot Malificent feeling ! A good lesson when you could not get in was to drive around "sometimes its better to ask for forgiveness than to beg for permission" !
Yeah! Thought about that as well haha, but this was the only exit 😂 since it has a bridge you have to cross over :(
@@inyourfayes could of being like the scene in the film Roadtrip where the lads jump the old bridge only for the car to fall apart !! Take care
Great Video, love the colours. I have the R6, can you tell me what your thoughts are on the 85mm F2 please.
Awesome! It’s a good lens, but the focus it’s quite slow. Sometimes it even misses focus, I’ve heard it’s because it’s also a macro lens. So that has effect on the focussing. I would personally go for a different 85 mm from Canon. Or, Sigma is a good alternative as well 🙌
@inyourfayes Many Thanks Faye, hopefully canon will let us buy 3rd party lenses soon.
Wow. I love your shots. I hope i can shoot stuff like this one day.
Ahh thank you! 😊
Sooo cool.
Thank youu! 🙌
Beautiful
Thank you! 🙌
Heel gaaf weer!!
Dankje ☺️
Liked and subscribed. You have a majesticle channel!
Yay! Thank you, I really appreciate that 🙏🏼
Dope ❤
Thanks! 🙏🏼
Get the glimmerglass 1 from Tiffen, instead of using vaseline
I have heard a lot about it! Would love to try it👌
You did great. The weather & the forest ambience helped you a lot. Why don't you just add some artificial lights to create more dramatic shots?
Thank you! I could’ve😊
But I wanted to keep it relatable and simple for this video🙌
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
обработка супер! композиция, идея, исполнение все прекрасно!
Thank you!! Very happy to hear that 😊
Love the vaseline trick haha
Thank you! It’s so easy and helpful 😊
Those black wings are beautiful.
As a New Zealander, I'm afraid to go walking in the Australian bush in case there is a snake :) We don't have snakes here, so the sight of them moving is a bit scary for us.
we feel the same way about kiwi's...
I know right! They look so realistic.
Haha, I totally understand what you mean 😂
I didn’t really think about that, too focussed on the shoot hahahah
Hello, positive-photo lady 😁📸😎
Hello 😊
Did you use a mist filter to begin with?
Yes that’s right! Pro Mist filter from Polar Pro.
I linked it in the description 🙌
0:38 I thought she is a model too
I know right! 😍
i am not the bigget fan of the "dreamy look" but i like leaning from you regardless... ich freue mich schon auf das nächste Video
Thank you! Happy to hear that. Yeah that dreamy effect doesn’t work on every photo shoot, but I feel like it really added to the style I wanted to go for 🙌 Dankeeee
Gaaf!!!
Thanks liefje
0:36 That girl looked like another model lol
Hahaha I know right!! She looks great
😍👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻💕
Thanks! 🙌
@@inyourfayes 🤩👌🏻👍🏻
Only Pentax K1000.Only old school
I hate green in photos... the green is always so "booooom bi***es i´m here". Especially on wedding shoots =/
Most of the time i turn it a bit autumn like or a bit darker than normal to fit in.
Hahahaha I know right! Yeah autumn colours are always so nice.. one of my favourite seasons to shoot in for sure 😍
Next shoot Anime like photos please 🤩
That would actually be so cool!!
It's a joke how well the vaseline trick works
I know right!
Over-color grading the UA-cam video made the shots look normal or just okay. Maybe making the video less vibrant would give the shots the recognition they deserve.
Stop the 🧢
Good video but the Orange & Teal colour grading didn't suit it. You should ask that young lady guarding the entrance to the Redwoods to model for you in another video 😀
Hübsch und talentiert. Mach bitte weiter so!
