INGREDIENTS:
Red Velvet Cake:
180 grams (1-1/3cups) All Purpose Flour
8 grams (1 tbsp) Cocoa Powder
1 tsp Baking Soda
1 tsp Salt
200 grams(1 cup) Granulated Sugar
240ml (1 cup) Buttermilk ( or 1 cup milk + 1 tbsp Vinegar)
120 ml (1/2 cup) Vegetable Oil
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
1 tbsp Red Gel colour
1/2 tbsp White Vinegar
Cream Cheese Frosting:
225 grams Philadelphia Cream Cheese Block
150 grams Unsalted Butter (Room temprature but not dripping soft, it should be firm enough to hold its shape)
300 grams Icing/Confectioner/Powdered Sugar (Sifted)
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
1cup = 240ml
tbsp = tablespoon
tsp = teaspoon

This is a fabulous Red Velvet Cake. So moist and yummy it just melts in mouth. I just had a query regarding the red color you have used. Which shade is this from Americolor or Wilton. I fail to get this beautiful bright red. Also can this recipe be used for making Red Velvet Cupcakes? Thanks again for such a descriptive video!

if I add 1tbsp vinegar to the milk since I don't have butter milk, is it sufficient? or i have to add another 1/2 tbsp vinegar to the batter as per your recipe?

I made this cake and it came out Delicious every single time. Just perfect. Super moist and yummy. I added 12 grams of cocoa and reduced the amount of sugar 20 grams. It's delicious

Could you kindly clarify the amount of the ingredients? I am confused about the amount of flour and sugar. 180gm flour and 200gm sugar? Sounds confusing to me. Plz ans.

I tried making these cake yesterday for my birthday...It was just awesome...It was better than the one we eat of bakery...I made some changes of measurments like
..I just used 70 ml of oil in it...I used 1 cup:-200ml
I used cream cheese whipping cream frosting
But trust me the cake comes out super moist and delicious

+iesh warya baking powder is not needed in this recipe baking soda is the leavening agent here..

Hi. I'm planning to make this cake for my husband's office party. I have a doubt. please advice. How long will the frosting hold in room temperature?
And after decorating it, I think it has to be kept in fridge to set well. So once out, will it melt or?
+asha8517 cream cheese frosting is meant to be refrigerated as its a perishable item but in an AC room the cake should be fine for 2hrs or so.

Adilicious Hi, I made the cake and it turned out very well. My husband's colleagues loved it and finished the entire 2kg cake. yes, I tripled the cake as he wanted a BIG cake. my cream cheese frosting started to melt, so had to keep it in fridge whenever possible after frosting. The frosting was loose and not thick. Don't know why. But still it was a hit. Thank you. I have tagged you in insta. Take a look.

Tried it, turned out awesome! BTW I substituted Whipping cream instead of cream cheese for the frosting and it worked out just fine :)
Hey, so i had this doubt. I can use whipped cream instead of creame cheese? Doni need to do / add anything or i can just directly use it
aakansha dantre Whipped cream works just fine as it is! I have tried with the powdered one you have to make as well as Amul terra pack ready one. Both work great. Maybe they need a little time in the fridge to set, but it’s all good after that.
Oh mam it turned out great .TBH for the first tym my cake turned out good .no matter wt cake it is it bcms too hard or liquidy but this turned out gr8...

Hey! I tried this. Could you please tell me why it was very soft? Like it was already soaked with sugar syrup. Why so? It was crumbling as well. Any way to avoid that. Or to reduce some ingredient?
Hi Aditi, this recepie is excellent. My question is.. Can I skip red color and cocoa powder (add equal amount of flour or cornflour in place of cocoa) and get a sponge cake which can be used for pineapple or any other cake?

I tried this cake. It was soft, no doubt, but extremely greasy and oily. It also had a dense and doughy layer at the bottom even though I baked it well and tested it with a toothpick.
