Office Hours with Chen Feng: Making WALL-E a Reality

The robots you know and love from science fiction are getting closer and closer to reality. Chen Feng, Assistant Professor of Civil and Urban Engineering at NYU Tandon, is exploring how we can use robots in construction and manufacturing - key economic sectors that can be improved by automation. In order to make robots like WALL-E a reality, Feng is developing machines that are aware of their own positions in space and their surroundings, and utilizing machine learning to improve their own perceptions.
