Great review as always. The only problem with rear access you always seem to be up against a hedge, we found when asked the length state it’s longer otherwise you are directed to a shorter pitch, this happened a lot.
Thanks Les and thats a good point. I thought if you add the awning to the back it is going to push you up to about 8 metres long too. Stay safe, Karina 😊
I really do think that these designs are the way forward. Anything that can encourage younger people or young families to take up touring is to be encouraged. Top review, but that goes without saying! :)

Thank you John, your support is appreciated. I like the Knaus too. We had a closer look at one at Dusseldorf in 2019, I likes to bed. Stay safe and take care, Karina 😊
@@steveb1856 I appreciate that there is a lot of floor space under the seats where you could bundle bedding but one of Swifts selling points for the Base Camp is folding the bunks up and carrying bikes and other activity equipment.

A pair of cracking vans, wish I was 30 again. Kind of van I hope my Daughter and her partner will buy and join Dad on site. They are into surfing, paddle boarding and cycling, this van ticks all the boxes. Best wishes to you Jules and of course Fudge.
The kitchen i liked a lot . The last cupboard door you opened out , i think that could have been a pull out pantry dont you ? Can you just have the bottom bunk set up on the side dinette or do you have to put both bunks up? Was specifically wondering if it’s possible to set the bottom bunk up to use as a sofa with a few extra scatter cushions and leave the front lounge area made up as a bed?
From memory you can just convert the bottom bunk of the dinette. You would be best calling a dealership to confirm this and go have a look when it is made up to see how it works for you. Karina

Hi jaylepp, that is a good question, the Bailey is more caravan like and a more comfortable space. The Basecamp is more adventure vehicle. Both offer an option of a specific awning. I personally would be considering the Adria Action and the Knaus Sport and Fun. There are reviews of all these on our channel. Consider the payload you will get on all these caravans and the size of the beds. The Basecamp 4 will give 4 berths which the D4-2 is two berth. The D4-4 does have a fixed bed but is a bit longer. I hope that helps if you are trying to make a decision. Karina

What's up with these new caravans. The plastic will fade within a few years and turn light grey, the front window is to narrow and to the sill is to high so as you back on the backrest you will have a very small angle of view (same as the four birth so you can't keep an eye on your kids or enjoy watching them play) the payload is only 16 stones(224lbs) add 2 gas bottles, air awning to the left and one at the rear, a couple of mountain bikes, a full water tank and I bet you are not far off the limit. No room to work with the oven door open or the cupboard under the oven. The 4 birth bunks are awful as are the stupid storage bags and it's not thought out at all. I'd rather spend 8 grand on a fully restored Castleton.
I like the idea. However UK camp sites aren't geared up for them. UK sites are set up for a side door and side awning. I can see a lot of disappointed first timers who purchase one and only realise the issue when it's too late.
Because most people do talk about width in feet due to the 8ft van but then the shipping length in metres due to several reasons around legal towing lengths and pitch sizes. Really sad that thats the only comment you could leave..but thanks for watching.. Karina
