Why on earth was this song only played on two tours... it is soooo perfect for a live tune... and it even is about "entertainment" such a great underestimated live song!!!!
It was a favorite for me too -- I love the live ending, where Neil goes nuts with the fills, and Ged & Al bang out those triplets over the persisting synth-string chord -- till the final "ba-duh-dunt!* I think the problem was that by this point Rush had an overstuffed archive of great material (good problem to have). They've spoken in interviews about how difficult assembling a set list became in the later years.
Well, they had a very serious problem as a band. TOO MANY GOOD SONGS. I made a list once. 21 songs were their classics and another 48 that I could listen to all day long.

My friend and I are both 44 years old. We still consider anything from Presto or later to be ‘new’ Rush. And we’re willing to die on that hill. Music-wise, being a teenager in the 90s was a series of peaks and valleys, but generously speaking - we had the luxury of viewing the whole of pre-Grunge pop music by a more objective standard than those who lived it (of whom I’m envious). The small but notable advantage here is that we could take in essentially anything, even the mid-career ‘adult contemporary’ period of a prog rock luminary and process it on its own merits - free of the peer-pressured expectation to reject it as having wandered astray of that for which said luminary has already been accepted and shall not be permitted any creative liberties, henceforth. In other words, I love this album.
@@NerdPowah Well you can blame Rupert Hine for that, lol. But, I agree, the songs from Presto & RTB had more energy when played live. Neil Ludwig’s kit sounds great. I only really liked the Wal for the stuff Geddy used it on, but I don’t think it did the other songs any justice. But, this is just my opinion. And, Alex’s PRS guitar sounds great as well. They all really sounded great on this tour and the Presto tour.
appreciate the upload...great sound with the headphones on! I wish you caught more 'full stage' footage so we could see Neil firing on all cylinders during the chorus cycle as it transitions keys!!!!
Saw them this tour in Charlotte, North Carolina while working at Blue Ridge Assembly in Black Mountain that summer. Also saw Vapor Trails tour 2002 San Antonio, Texas. Both were excellent concerts 👏
I was at the opening show in Hamilton, they didn't quite have all the bugs out of the lighting. Spotlights were shining where they weren't for the first couple of songs.
it may have something to do with the refresh rate of the camera and the lights on the fx units being out of sync making them look like theyre flashing more than they actually are
those are the legendary 2290 delays :) Nothing like them, before or after really. You can see them at work on the A Show Of Hands live video as well. Alex used these live on every tour from Hold Your Fire up through Test For Echo...a good 10-year run (cut short by the hiatus, but also from the switch over to the G-Forces for delays on the Vapor Trails tour). The 2290 really is an absolutely wonder! Each unit has only one delay line, but it stretches the capability of that one delay line to the absolute limit, not only with dynamics (which weren't unheard of at the time, but quite advanced in this unit), but also with its modulation, realtime panning capabilities (dry, delay, or both, even in opposite directions!), L/R phase-flips, etc. I hope to get one someday (or two). I do have the TC 1210 chorus--which Alex used even longer, even up to the very end--and I can't ever picture myself parting with it. The TC "classic" era was a thing to behold!
In every bootleg video I've seen of this song, I'm always left to wonder why the camera is never on Alex at the beginning of his keyboard solo? Always a letdown... 🙁

MSG!!!
a night i will never forget
LOVED them playing this one
BLOWN AWAY by xanadu too
The Presto album absolutely slaps in a live context. This song is brought to life THAT MUCH MORE.
Totally agree! So much better live
Agreed. The studio versions just don't have that punch. Plus, Rush always sound better live!

Presto is a freaking masterpiece.
@@seangdolan greatly underrated Rush disc.

Bad ass show, Primus opened that tour, oh how I miss those days.
They just play really really well on his tour, great as always 😊
🇨🇦 proud 💯
I saw this tour in Lubbock, Texas....they have all been so uniquely excellent...
Neil nearly drops his stick then smashes the cymbals, legend!!!

Imma no lie, saw Rush on this tour twice. I came for the 40' bunnies! Which I will continue to watch on the Tom Sawyer vid. Thanks for posting!
My dad was right next to this camera man apparently, I'm so jealous
Playing keyboard with my nose......ALEX GOT THE MOJO BABY !!!😊😊😊

This is great
Awsome! I saw this tour in Cleveland
Sentimental ease to the fullest
Think this the only Rush song you actually hear Alex singing
Fantastic! The camera work is ok BUT ILL TAKE IT!!! RUSH!! The best ever!!! Doc David
hey they zoom in on the important parts, better than most camera work in live albums imo
I love the Poodle-Cocker-Spaniel era of Geddy

Alex is killing it at 1:28 you get to see how he's strumming his guitar.
Neil looks like a Ninja Turtle xD and he almost didn't catch the drum stick lmao
Can anyone explain Alex’s top 2 rack units “the TC electronics effects processors” lights are flashing and going crazy, I’ve never seen this before

Geddy was, like, 30 years ahead of the game on yoga pants!
Presto have a few really strong tracks!
This is the second half of a medley that started with Xanadu on this tour...does anyone have the whole song live on video?

Alex kicks tail..
Cell phone cameras didn't exist in 1992. Is this proof of time travel? 🤔
Only the nerdiest of nerds had handheld camcorders.
