They weren't simply saying X player's origins are Y country, they were implying that they are not French. The song is exclusively about the black French players. The entire point of the song is to say that these black French players are not 'really' French, which is another way to say black people don't belong, nevermind that they were born in France, only white people can be French (they don't question Theo Hernandez who has dual nationality, Benzema has Algerian descent, Truffert was born in Belgium. However- as stupid as the chant was- it did not make one race better or worse than another. It did not say “whites are better”. Having said that, they also sang to Argentina many times and have laughed at them, but as we are used to because it is something normal for us, we did not make a news story about it. In Argentina we are not concerned about issues of racism because it has been overcome a long time ago. That's why we have no problem joking about these things. Now returning to the lyrics of the song, it is not racist to associate a French of black ethnicity with an African country since it is the continent of origin of said ethnicity. As it is a simple court song, many African countries were used so that they could rhyme in Spanish. I also understand that the issue of racism is widely used in European and American politics as political leverage. The 2030 agenda has hit them so hard that they can no longer differentiate a joke from a really racist comment, and since Argentina is very loved for its soccer in most countries in the world, France used this manipulation maneuver to dirty and denigrate us. I am from Asia. I read the chant lyrics many times. I still don't get what is the fuss/racist about it? Last month, the World Cup Cricket was held in the USA and Caribbean islands. The South Africa team has mostly white players, so did Zimbabwe team which until a few years ago had 9 white players out of 11. Nobody even cared or dwelt upon it.

My initial take on it was , that its blown out of proportion. Misjudged and wrapped up in the moment and crowd/group mentality - he has sang without thinking about what he is singing. The content itself was very borderline whether its racist or just a little bit nationalist, but then Argentina itself IS a particularly racist place.

Therefore, there will be a big number of the current French national team that were born in France. This is the issue because YOU assume that they are not French and the song assumes this/disregards they are French because of their skin. Again, would you similarly question that Youri Djorkaeff (of Armenian and Polish parents but born in France) and Zidane (of Algerian descent but born in France also) are French because they are white? The same standard must be held for everyone otherwise it IS discrimination/racism.
