Great video. There's one caveat to TTL flash. The TTL's pre flash can startle a few insects. I chased a long legged fly for 20 minutes and couldn't get a single shot. Turned off TTL and adjusted manual flash power, and was able to get several single shots.
Cracking images again - you never disappoint. I recently purchased a Godox V1 Pro speedlite, plus the accessory kit with the flat and domed diffusers to use with my OM1 mark II and 90mm f3.5 macro lens. I'm really impressed with it. Tilting the flash head slightly and using the two diffusers plus the bounce card, I find I no longer need to a large diffuser (I use a Kev Russell KR90 with my Olympus FL700WR speedlite). TTL works really well, better than my 700WR and because it uses a lithium battery, it's quicker on manual for focus stacking.
Another excellent guide to all things macro, nice and clear - plus, it's another chance to see your great photos of what seems to be and endless procession of crazy insects. Nice work!
Great video! I started with aperture priority when I first started with wildlife photography a few years ago. I think my breakthrough was understanding how shutter speed worked.
Thank you 🙏🏾 I think my breakthrough was finally getting a good understanding of the aperture because I used to shoot at f20 & up for every shot when I first started
I think when it comes to macro photography, Olympus is probably the best brand of cameras for that genre. Check out my macro photography gear playlist for more gear related videos, plan on doing more reviews in the near future
