This was fun to watch. I lived in this dorm from 2002-2003 (I know, I’m old!) Not much has changed BUT its so much nicer to have two people in there. We had four in there and it was...cozy!
I enjoyed your clip. It brought back memories of my year (74-75) in Taylor Tower. At that time it was coed by floor. I lived in the room (501 or 503). The windows faced Lane. Four of us lived in the room, with bunkbeds. It was pretty tight. Two occupants would have been much better. It was a great experience. We took our meals at the commons just across from the south entrance. We spent many nights on High Street. I loved walking to the stadium for football games in the autumn to watch Archie and the rest of the Bucks. My favorite memory was meeting Coach Hayes. I was walking across the Oval on the way to the main library one cold January day. He walked out of the faculty club building and walked my way. We spoke and chatted for a minute or two and then went on our separate ways.
I have wanted to go to OSU since I was nine! I think that is definitely number 1 on my college list. My grandparents lived in Ohio, but moved where we are now in Georgia
I have been admitted to OSU for the class of 2022 but I haven't committed yet. I just had a few questions if you have the time to answer them. 1) Are all the dorms air conditioned? 2) How is campus life? 3) Which dorms would you say are the best in terms of social life and proximity to the main area of campus?
1. Unfortunately, No. Most (if not all) on North Campus are, but South Campus has a few with no AC 2. I LOVE campus life! I would live all 4 years on campus if I could! Everything is so close and you have everything you need on and around campus. 3. I LOVED living on South Campus because it is very open with lots of green space and it is near High Street (bars and social life) as well as the Union and the South Oval (which is where most if not all events happen on campus) North Campus is all buildings and replicates the city! It is definitely a preference thing however! I suggest going on a college visit to see it!
Marissa Nicole Thank you so much! I would have loved to visit campus. But I'm an international student. So it's close to impossible to do so. Thank you so much though :)
YAYAYAYAY! That's awesome!!! Don't be nervous, it'll be so much fun! The change was smooth for me because I was excited for it and I was ready. But if you're nervous it can be a little harder. Just keep an open mind and take everything as it comes. :)
Our ceilings were a material kind of like a cork board in a way so I tied the string of the poof balls to push pins and pushed them into the ceiling. Using command hooks on the ceiling and then tying the string to the hooks would also work!
There are many different types of dorm rooms. There are singles, doubles, super doubles, triples, quads, suite style, etc. And I have a super double which means I get double the room for 2 people. So basically a 4 person room but only 2 people living in it!
Not at all! Park Strad is going to be a one bedroom set up (if it is a double) and you'll have two beds parallel to each other and 2 desks at the end of the beds and to closets on either side of the door. the rooms are shaped like a shoebox, longer but skinnier.
Just seeing this now, but I MUST disagree with you here. Those "rooms" are really small suites, with a small bedroom that's not much smaller than some entire residence hall rooms. Add to that a living room that's easily the size of many residence hall rooms and you have lots of space. And to top it all off, a private bathroom, shared between just two people! I lived in Taylor Tower from 1981 through 83 (10th floor) 4 of us shared a room like this!. Now they only have 2 per room, which, I'm sure, makes a huge difference. We had to bunk each bed, which made things a bit tight for the poor guy up top! In my opinion, one of the best setups on the entire campus, residence-hall wise!
There are scholarships available. To my experience (not facts) there are a lot of full rides available but most of them go to programs that you are apart of (Young Scholars, etc.) so not many people get them otherwise. The athletes usually get all of them. I didn't get anything from OSU when I applied.
Well the desks are attached to the wall so we can't move them. So we have to have beds in one room and desks in the other or one person's room would have both desks and then that person can't sleep if the other wants to study. Also, the main door opens to the common room with desk so then you couldn't get changed because the main door to the hallway is in your room.
OK for one you are extremely pretty❤😍 and how did you get into Ohio state :GPA, act, sat, loans, fasfa,?????? if you van I will like to know all that and hopefully I can become a freshman 2018
OSU main campus acceptance rate for freshman is very low. Usually 30+ ACT scores, 3.8+ GPA, (idk about SAT, I didn't take it), loans and fasfa will come once you're accepted but in state rate is around $22,000 a year and out of sate is around $48,000 a year. I scored a 28 ACT and a 4.8 GPA and got in, so good luck with applying! I hope to see you at OSU soon!
I love it! I love how there's 2 separate rooms
I know!! That is my favorite part too! Thanks for watching! I'm glad you liked it!
I love how the rooms separated up like this! This is one of my three top schools I want to go to!
I know! It was great to live in!
This was fun to watch. I lived in this dorm from 2002-2003 (I know, I’m old!) Not much has changed BUT its so much nicer to have two people in there. We had four in there and it was...cozy!
That’s so cool!!! Yes the super double is so much better than putting 4 people in there!!! Thank goodness!!!
It was too much!

Wait I love this room which room style is this I’m hoping to go to OSU and am interested in this room. 😊
This is a quad (but actually a super double) in Taylor Tower!

Marissa Nicole thanks and thank you for the heart❤️
I have been accepted into OSU and I am currently trying to work up the courage to live on campus. The way decorated is very pretty, by the way :)
YYEESSSS!!!! LIVE ON CAMPUS!! It is all apart of the college experience!

I love ohio state!!!! Go buckeyes!!! Also your dorm is super cute
GO BUCKS!! Thank you so much!!!
I'm gonna be a junior in High School and I'm starting to really think about colleges, I'm considering OSU so I'm watching dorm videos 😂
Yessss! It’s never too early to prepare for college! GO BUCKS!
I got accepted and am so nervous about moving in. Was the change a shock or smooth for you?
YAYAYAYAY! That's awesome!!! Don't be nervous, it'll be so much fun! The change was smooth for me because I was excited for it and I was ready. But if you're nervous it can be a little harder. Just keep an open mind and take everything as it comes. :)
I'm going to osu in the future but rn I'm in 7th grade and I'm watching these so I will know what to expect for the future
How cool! You’ll be really prepared then!!!
Ya I’m in 8th grade and I’m hoping to go here!!
It has always been a dream of mine to go to Ohio state.. The only down part is that I now live in ky and I can't afford out of state tuition😪
Osu's tuition is actually really out of hand. I hate how expensive it is. I'm so sorry!!
How did you get the little poofy things to hang above your bed? Tape? Super cute!
Our ceilings were a material kind of like a cork board in a way so I tied the string of the poof balls to push pins and pushed them into the ceiling. Using command hooks on the ceiling and then tying the string to the hooks would also work!
I live in Ohio and I've always kinda wanted to go to osu!
apply!!!! Give it a chance!!!
I'm thinking of going to Ohio state anyway for me its a 20min drive☺☺☺☺☺☺
YAY! I hope you do! OSU is awesome!
which dorm is this? i go to osu and am interested in living here next year!
It is on North campus, Taylor Tower!
Did you get to see the dorms before you moved in?
No we didn't! You can look at the floor plan online, but we weren't able to view the actual rooms beforehand.
Oh, i just thought it would be strange if you didn't even know the layout. Thanks!
I wanna go to this school sooo badly
Make sure you apply!!!
Can someone pls explain to me how these dorm things work cause my sister goes to Calgary u and she only has a bedroom that's it
There are many different types of dorm rooms. There are singles, doubles, super doubles, triples, quads, suite style, etc. And I have a super double which means I get double the room for 2 people. So basically a 4 person room but only 2 people living in it!
Do you know how similar this layout is to Park-Stradley Hall?
Not at all! Park Strad is going to be a one bedroom set up (if it is a double) and you'll have two beds parallel to each other and 2 desks at the end of the beds and to closets on either side of the door. the rooms are shaped like a shoebox, longer but skinnier.
Marissa Nicole okay thank you so much!
OMG those rooms are tiny :O
They're not too terribly bad!
Every college is different so it could be tiny compared to another university!
Just seeing this now, but I MUST disagree with you here. Those "rooms" are really small suites, with a small bedroom that's not much smaller than some entire residence hall rooms. niceee!!
Thank you!!!
I have to wait to I finished school first
That's okay!!
and is it still academic full ride scholarships???
There are scholarships available. To my experience (not facts) there are a lot of full rides available but most of them go to programs that you are apart of (Young Scholars, etc.) so not many people get them otherwise. The athletes usually get all of them. I didn't get anything from OSU when I applied.
I am watching this in 2018
2019?! :)
what is that one white door beside the desk area?
I actually have no idea. loll. I have never looked into it or opened it!
My Drifting Desk open it!!!!
Does anyone else wonder what that little door is in the common room above her printer and the trash can????
hmmm. I never found out what that was.
is the dorms different for freshmans
It kind of depends where you get placed and in what hall because each residence hall has a different style of room in it.
okay thank you
strange to place an outlet that high up over the bed
There’s supposed to be bunk beds for this quad so there’s a high outlet for when the top bunk needs to plug in stuff.
How do u edit ur videos
I use iMovie on my MacBook Air
I HAVE THE SAME LAPTOP AS YOU ROOM MATE !!!!!!!!!!!1
How cool!!!
4 people used to live in these.
Yup! Crazy haha.
does your roommate vlog?
No she doesn't.
I don't get the point of sharing 2 rooms with 2 people. Shouldn't you just each have your own room then?
Well the desks are attached to the wall so we can't move them. So we have to have beds in one room and desks in the other or one person's room would have both desks and then that person can't sleep if the other wants to study. Also, the main door opens to the common room with desk so then you couldn't get changed because the main door to the hallway is in your room.
O-H
I-O!!!

Seriously, that chair makes you look like you have wings.
Hahahah! I am secretly a VS Angel!
Some throw pillows on your bed and chair would make it look even more pretty
I love love love throw pillows! I have TONS on my new bed this year ! hhaha. They definitely make things look prettier!
So cute ! 💘
Thank you!!! :)
Isn't that school u go to haunted it was number one for top haunted schools in the world
Catgal 768 I actually haven't heard of it being haunted!! I'll have to check into it!!
My Drifting Desk I watch most haunted schools in America and it says ur school is number on lol
Catgal 768 that one's actually ohio university not ohio state university (:
Thats sounds more like it!! I didn't think OSU was haunted!!
Just saw this...Cute!!!
Thank you!!
The difference between a guys dorm and a girls dorm...
Guys dorms are more organized... >.>
That's crazy!! I always thought girls were more organized!! But I think we're juts more decorative!! hahaha.
