Thank you my friend! Residual dirt/rust got into my cab after a pricey tank cleaning, fuel valve change, and tune-up (essentially making the tune-up a waste of money). Followed your advice and tips and it worked like a charm! All the best from Canada.
Great video! I have to work on an old Vespa today that will idle ok but die as soon as you take off. Never worked on one before and this gives me a great place to start.
Very good and informative-Thank you I have a 'Flat Spot' and it won't tick over or rev unless you open it up quite a long way-it cuts out at low revs so i'm hoping it's just a carb clean needed and I will follow your advice-Thanks again-Alan from the UK
Thanks mate great video. I was servicing my 2014 px the other day, after cleaning the air filter, I maybe oiled it too much and didn’t let it dry. When I put everything back together , she won’t start😂 What do you reckon may be the reason? Thanks heaps!
@@EddieEloff It seems my carburetor have a problem but I am a novice on those and no where near a shop to fix it. Would you recommend to get a new one and change it ? Last question, hope you don’t mind, I find your video very instructive, and looking for help. The compression is low, what can I do to increase it ? Thanks a lot. Charles
@@themetropolitains Its hard to say. Not sure the symptoms. new sparkplug check gear oil dirt or rust in tank change points condensor Those are 2 port engines. I will look at putting a vesspa px125, 150 or even 200 engine. Do a convertion. so much you could do. Look at sip scootershop road trip on youtube. they all running tuned 200 engines.
You one of those Dutch guys? Maybe South African (which is still a Dutchy too)? Anyway, I got a mate called Carlo and he's a Dutchy but we all call him "Dutchy." Nice bloke, really.
Think about it. If the scooter stood for Years guarantees its leaking under the carb then take it out, replace gaskets. If you are doing maintenance or unblocking. Why take it out. Chances are you will damage something. Imagine you have dirt floating somewhere and you get blocked jets every 3 days. Every time you strip and replace gaskets. After 2 weeks of finally sorting out the problem, you would have a pack of used gaskets. It's not healthy to strip and pull the carb out every 5 min. So the bottom line is, there a time and place for everything. If it's not broken don't change it.
I know guy that strip his engine at least 6 times on a weekend because of a air leak... at the end of the day he killed about 8 scooter engines. He would ride home from work and seize engine. This went on for about 6 years. Now he rides a honda. Till this day I still don't know what he did wrong.
Thanks Eddie. Easy to understand and I followed your instructions and cleaned the carby of my PX no fuss. Cheers from Australia.

Do you know how to clean a VNA Vespa carburator ( 1958-1960) ? Thanks
About the same. The original carb has a breather I think. Next to the main jet. Few differences but the same concept.

Why dont you take out the hole thing and then clean it like it should
