No offense, but you select a vinyl that is labeled as "permanent" (Oracle 651), then complain about it not coming off easily. It is not supposed to. Oracal has a vinyl just for this purpose. It is called Oracle 631. Maybe mentioning that would be helpful. But I still appreciate seeing your comparison. Helpful non-the-less.

I agree. I am a brand new cricut user. I absolutely despise the cricut vinyl. I have noticed that Oracle works so well, and I have not tried other brands besides these two. Thank you for confirming this I was not sure if I was just crazy LOL

Starcraft has been my favorite for months now! Much cheaper than Cricut but also weeds like a dream! It's also great in that you can reposition it easier than other brands.

I've only used Contact brand or Cricut transfer tape for Cricut vinyl. I've never had the problem you show here. I have not used the transfer tape you use before. I think the most important thing for me is the lasting power for the 'permanent' vinyl, like when put on things that are handled often, used outside, or on mugs etc. I will look to see if you have a video on that. Thanks for the comparison. It does seem to show that Cricut brand is much thinner and fragile. I have not used Starcraft, so think I want to give it a try. The cost IS important for sure! :)

Metamark M7 permanent is the best vinyl for cups ..i put mine in the dishwasher and after almost 2 years its solid as a rock. (cleaning the mug with alcohol and letting it totally dry is a must tho before application )

So, I had to find this video just to tell you how much I love, love, love the Pen Pin. That was the best craft item I've ever bought. This pen pin is a miracle weeding worker. I wish I would have known about this at the beginning of my crafting journey. This would have saved me from a lot of hiccups while weeding. Also, I love Seacraft vinyl the best out of all the vinyl brands. It peels so smoothly, easily and doesn't stick too tight to your fingers. Thank you so much for this comparison tutorial. It saved me from a lot of weeding mistakes.

Great comparison; i love the oracal; but will have to check into Starcraft now....also; you do have a lot of cut files; but disappointed to not find anything related to scuba or snorkeling; and bearded dragon pets.

I'm so upset because Cricut just had it's 50%off sale and being a newbie I bought a lot. I'll just have to be prepared to work a little harder and be a little more careful with the product but I think I'll be going with Starcraft next time. I did get plenty of their transfer tape so I'm hoping their product works better with that. I did order the giant masking tape from Amazon for future work. New member here... Live and learn.

I tried the masking tape transfer and it doesn't work at all for me, on any type of vinyl. It might have something to do with the humid climate I live in, but it didn't lift anything for me.
what settings do you use on the Maker for the starcraft and the oracle? Do you chose Premium Vinyl or Vinyl? Default Pressure?
Not sure this has been said. The Oracal did not remove the paint from the square sign. Go back and watch at about 21:56 when you are cleaning it. You can see the marks. When you place the vinyl, you covered them up. So, when you took it off, you thought it peels the paint off.

I just bought 6 sheets of Starcraft to try. I’m excited to try it. I need to go buy a new cutting blade. I think I’m going back to the original black ratchet blade. Help! I have ruined so much vinyl what are the best settings for my silhouette? I think it’s like the first version.
I've just started out I brought cricuts new premium vinyl for mugs but now I'm worried it won't be very long lasting, does star vynil stand well over time on things like mugs being hand washed?

Star Craft is my all time favorite and go to vinyl. However I have soooo much cricut and oracal to use up.
Oracal is good, but good luck finding projects to use that Cricut brand lol!

In your opinion what brand would you use for doing starbucks cups?
Great video because I struggle with so much of cricut's vinyl but can you do a video on the best vinyl for weeding smaller words. I have trouble with missing letters. I personally feel Cricut's vinyl is made of a cheaper material and for the cost you would think it would be better. But doesn't it depend if the vinyl is removeable or permanent vinyl whether it is easily removed? I know you said their is no such thing as permanent vinyl but I think removeable just means you have more time to pick it up and move it.
Starcraft is good on smaller letters, but really how you burnish and treat the vinyl during the weeding process makes more of a difference than the brand. Also, permanent vs removable vinyl, removable just means there is less adhesive on the vinyl than with the "permanent" formula. Hope this helps!
You can use a heat gun or a hair dryer to warm your vinyl, comes right up. Easy Peary. Wipe down with windex!Ta Da!!

I love the Oracal 651 for car decals
It appears that your third example isn't the same type of Surface as the first two examples. Permanent vinyl will adhere much more to plastic or metal than it does on painted wood. That's probably why in my opinion that it was harder to remove vs. the first two examples.
With the Joy, the smart permanent vinyl never did release for me, I ruined the whole sheet. (All Cricut Products.) help!
was there a reason you didn't include Siser? I used vinyl in our business for generating artwork to make silkscreens )light blocking) and also for banners and signs so typically used the 50 yard rolls thru our supplier - it wasn't until I started playing with crafting that I purchased various colors in retail stores. but so far what is readily available here (retail) is Siser. so I was surprised when you didn't compare that to Cricut and Starcraft since you CAN buy cricut locally but Starcraft has to be ordered.
The other 2 brands we mentioned other than Cricut has to be ordered as well. We do use Siser HTV, it's the only HTV we use, but we prefer Starcraft vinyl.

Only one spot pulled finish off sign so I'd say sign was defective not the vinyl product, bad powder coat I'd guess.
