Tips Do not try and cinch it tight right away as that can cause the horse to become aggressive when cinching. Another is to get a more even saddle as those type of saddles really make you sit back as it's angled, which can throw the rider off balance and make the horse have a less than fun time. Another thing is to work on softer cues, even green horses don't need to be kicked to give a turn cue. If you train a horse roughly it'd only be that much harder for them to actually listen to you. Here's a good video addressing cues and sitting positions and how improper positions can actually cause the horse to basically fuck up and be more frustrated. ua-cam.com/video/ojJiPvEkcjI/v-deo.html
A disgrace to the equine community calling yourself a trainer. And I feel gutted for this horse and any other horse that is in your care. Should be called out for abuse. And even worse some people agree with you saying great work. Sickening. @RaleighLink14
I thought the USA is a land of horsemanship, not apes trying to force foals getting ridden with a way too big saddle and rider, shame on you to let this happen. Not better than the biglickshit.
Instead of kneeing the horse in the gut when doing up the girth, you should consider teaching the horse to "shake legs". Teach him to lift and give the right leg and you hold it and gently stretch the leg in front of him (don't yank it). Put it down, have him do the other leg. This has two effects - eliminates the horse's "bloat" or the air he sucked in while being girthed, and allows any skin under the girth to be stretched so it does not get pinched, and sore. The horse quickly learns to "shake legs" on command. All I have to do is stand in front of my horse, say 'shake' and I get the first leg, and so on. And...he knows after that, we're ready to go. So, it's a good, smooth saddle up process - and good for young horses so they don't learn to fear having a saddle slapped on them (many people "toss it on", rather than properly placing it like you did).
Wow. If that’s an adult horse it’s sure stunted. Chewed off tail, kicking it in the gut right at the beginning? Trotting cantering around thinking you’re gaiting on a first ride? Every rib visible on his body? How could you think this horse has enough food?
My problems with the video: -thin horse - very small for rider - not old enough to be ridden - horse looks sad - you have no clue on what your doing - and you should work on muscle building. Shame on you for putting that horse through that
1st). Who taught this kid (light bright Zach)how to cinch up (I assume this guy holding the camera) Kicking a horse in the stomach is not how it’s done. Terrible. U need to be slapped for even putting this thrash on UA-cam. UA-cam ought to file charges. Self proclaimed horse trainers. How many dislikes can u receive on a ch before UA-cam starts taking money from you.
Literally was kicking his leg up trying to get strength to tighten it up. You made it seem like he was putting a full thrust to the horse stomach. Literally barely touched his stomach.
Horse looks kinda young and if this is his first time you should have done muscle building first. So many bad things use this video for the “don’t” parts of training
Hi! Just found your channel, just a little tip. Try not to kick when your riding, instead apply steady leg pressure. Also improve your posture when your riding, and next time you train another horse, try to build muscle and gain a little weight on your horse. Thanks!
@@singlefoothorsetv6 Bruh, don't be defensive. There are assholes on your comments but what David says is true. The horse is young and how you train today is what it'll take with it through its life. I know how it is to be a young person training. The patience and empath will come later but for now, a little gentle goes a long way. If there is no trust with the animal, you may get what you want but at what expense. I appreciate your channel and the time and work you put into uploading. Keep up the good work.
poor posture on rider, no helmet, yanking the bit and kicking, along with a standing martingale. Horse doesn't have much choice. Proper seat and posture and cues from the rider will go a long way in good training. Did you walk the horse and hose the horse down and cool him off - you may be proud of how much "sweat" on the horse, but no good if horse ends up with heat exhaustion.
You are both cute but this is not good horsemanship! I would never let either of you near my horses! Clearly this wasn’t the first day of training, horses don’t gait that week day one!
@@kaylabrown4699it's also pretty easy to tell when a horse is uncomfortable (kicking at the girth area? That's a major red flag!) It doesn't matter if the horse is gaited or not, wrenching the girth up like that is extremely damaging to the horse. This just screams bad horsemanship. Not to mention the horse looked in pain/uncomfortable at least the whole video
First of all how old is that horse because if it’s a young horse you have no business to be riding that animal if it’s over four years old then go ahead you can ride him or her but if that horse is under 3 to 4 years old you have no business riding it
So many red flags in one video… jesus christ.
