I have zero sympathy for car dealers.
I agree let them sit 😊
Dealerships have been overvaluing their inventory and helping people to apply for expensive loans which are over the MSRP appraisals. The banks allowed these criminals to get away with it. And now we are supposed to feel bad for them?
The consumer crazy enough to sign for it knowing the monthly payments are $200-$350 higher than they are willing to pay are just as much to blame .
I did used vehicle inspections at a GM dealer. If a trade in needs more than $2-4k in parts, labor, and recon it often gets sent to auction or the budget lot. High end vehicles don't sell well on budget lots. Most need tires, brakes, have leaks, need body repairs, etc., but yeah if they're at auction it probably needs over $2k in repairs to pass a GM inspection or has an intermittent issue that couldn't be fixed for a reasonable amount of money. If a used vehicle is being sold on a GM dealer lot it will often have no known serious issues. Most dealerships can't afford bad reviews these days.
Wow. I can't believe how expensive used vehicles are with such high mileage.
$35K for that clapped-out Denali? Nope.
theres a sucker born every minute
and imagine the buyer will then mark it up further, also with a high interest rate loan
Needs a cam
91K miles. WAY out of warranty, and GM has electrical problems with age. Who wants to pay to have bundles replaced?
It’s starting vechicles are not selling and more layoffs coming people are not buying just like the housing market .
35, 000 for a burnout truck with almost 100,000 mi is absolutely ridiculous All that thing is going to be is a money pit going forward replacing parts getting towed for breakdowns complete joke😂
It will be broken down long before that loan is paid off.
If it's a dealers auction someone will end up buying that truck at 45k with a half blown transmission. That the dealer will refuse to fix.
GM leather is crap, just like the rest of that POS , GMC truck
@@marshallforeman2051
That GMC pricing is criminal
An 8 year old truck with 90k miles with torn/cracked seats and balding tires for $35K is ridiculous! Crazy expectations on the part of sellers!
and that's wholesale
As a consumer i wouldn't even pay 20k for it
Better than 50k, but I agree. That’s just ridiculous!
@@StopTargetingOurKids in my brain, thats like a $12k-$14k truck. I paid $15k for a 2017 model w/14,000 miles in 2020 right as the pandemic hit. Did most people put something in themselves that made them crazy stupid with money?
@@StopTargetingOurKids JMO But I would hate to pay 10k for it. It has seen its best days with 90K Miles on it.
These auction prices seem 20-25% over RETAIL to me. Guess it's a good thing I'm not in the market for one.
Just because they work in a big business, doesn’t mean they are smarter than you.
I bet it’s just an inefficient manager letting them go out dirty.
Not cleaning it is part of their arrogance.
I was talking to a Spanish dude at a job the other day. He paid 23K for an F150 with 200K miles on it. I feel bad for him. His payment is $700 at 14% interest. That's a death sentence.
Omg poor guy from Spain got scammed.
Damb
Might be his free government money for a long arduous journey...of so....WE got scammed
Don't feel bad I know people with 24 25 interest rate
Please do not feel bad for people and lenders who are in deep self dug hole😅
Escalade has a bad Carfax. Previous accident, some don't sell .
These used cars just disgusting inside for that kind of money.
Screams “NO maintenance done here!”
I’m so thankful for my one owner senior owned 06 corolla. The interior is clean just like a nice living room. And I love light dove grey interior because if you DO get a spot somewhere you can see it and clean it right away.
I just do not get the "Put on a Phone Call " , at an auction. It should just be a no sale . Lower the reserve next time .
Or don’t have any
It's the auction's way of asking the seller "are you sure?" As Brandon has proven in these videos, first money is best money. Each subsequent week usually brings lower bids.
I look at these prices and chuckle because they don't get a dime of my money., not at those prices, not now not ever.
Bought a Subaru just prior to the pandemic. Almost 100k miles already but bringing it to 200k.
Huge fan of the channel keep up the great work brother. Love the Willy S Jeep, Believe it or not when we were in Iraq, hummus were the same way. Not adjust at all, And before we received up armor in 2005, We actually used to have to load the floors with sandbags to protect us from the IEDs. It was like driving in a sardine can.
Escalade rear facia does not match…I will bet that it had rear end damage.
I saw that and thought Brandon would say something
Our local dealer Stephen Wade claims to have over 1000 used cars for sale. He also has New cars for sale. He's HURTING BIG TIME...
I wonder if they will sell on the used lots for above those prices? If they don't maybe there will be a meltdown.
It seems like they are all living in their own fantasy world.
The newer Escalades, well ever since 2010 they use that AFM on the 6.2L lifters go bad. It's not a cheap fix. But if that was the problem you would hear it. Transmission are junk also. I have a 2010 I'm waiting for the AFM to go. Then I'm going to do a what I'll call a mild engine build, and a DOD delete. I love my Escalade. I'm just going to keep it. It's been going great @ 126,000 miles. I'm old and I'm not going to pay these ridiculous prices. If I get cancer and only have a few months ill trade in a couple of my hoopties and finance a new Vette 😂.
Lifter repairs are not expensive to repair as long as the person that was driving it wasn't r*tarded and they stopped driving it as soon as it started making a lifter no8ise. Lifter issues are rare as long as the oil is changed often enough. The vast majority of high mileage lifter issues is caused by 80 iq clowns that think that they can go 7000 miles between oil changes because they bought the fancy oil.
I have a 2010 Sierra denali 6.2 .. the denalis l9h doesn’t have afm and it’s available in the slt and Silverado ltz from 09-13.the 07 and 08’s aforementioned two trims are non afm 6.0’s.. and yes you want a 07-09 in the SUV’s if you don’t want afm.
GM sells over a million vehicles with AFM V8's every year. Even a 0.5% lifter failure rate makes it took like they're ticking time bombs. The vast majority of AFM lifter failures is caused by 80 iq clowns that don't think about getting an oil change until the oil life monitor starts flashing warning messages in the instrument cluster screen. AFM needs clean oil with adequate oil pressure to work reliably. The early lifter failures were due to engine sludge clogging the screen in the system that send oil to the lifters to turn them on and off. That's due to lack of oil changes. The other common issue was the early design having the bolts work looses over time and causing oil pressure to drop below spec for the AFM lifters. The 2014+ engines are designed differently so that's not an issue. Engines with lifter issues in 2014+ trucks (excluding the out of spec springs that went into 2022-23 engines) are caused by a lack of oil changes, low mileage defects that happen with every manufacturer including Toyota, and issue unrelated to the lifters that cause a lifter to become damaged (such as not having enough oil in the engine or an oil pump not making enough oil pressure). I work with a ton of guys that own GM half-ton trucks that are 2014-18 body styles or 2019+ body styles. A handfull of them have over 200k miles on their trucks and they never messed with AFM disablers or AFM delete kits. They're just the type of guys that change their oil constantly. They aren't going more than 5k miles without an oil change. Some of them still do the old 3000 mile oil change because that's the way they have always done it. Amazing what changing your oil often enough can do for a guy.
@@hochhaul these are the same lazy people who don’t cook at home and eat out everyday and are complaining about fatfood prices rising…I’ve never slacked on a oil change in all 22 cars I’ve had over the years, never past 5k miles either…if you can’t do a simple oil change maybe you don’t deserve a car…these also are the same people who complain about the timing chains going in the gm high feature 3.6L….there’s 4 cams and chains for each head, you want that oil fresh and filled to the top…amazes me how lazy people are, just look at car guys channels that go to auctions, look at the shape inside the cars at auction…a lot of them are trashed..
Those "dealers" are dumb. The are overpaying those vehicles. By June-August they'll realize that they screwed themselves - big time.
You’re mistaken, the house never loses!! There corrupt buddies in government will bail them out😉
Yeah especially that clapped out Honda. Worst generation of Accord in many years.
That old army jeep reminded me of M*A*S*H. 😁
The seats on those trucks get damage because people drag their asses getting out
Wandering how much that dealer will sell that $5700 Honda accord with 174k miles.
5,700 should get him about 13,900. It’s still under 200k 😂
I'm more curious at the dumbass that would pay for that.
They're still going for a lot in omaha area. Im in the market for a civic or accord and They're still way too high
My 2016 Accord Touring with 170k miles cost 8500 when I bought it in 2020. We need a massive crash in this joke of a market
@@wildrosecottage9844 they aren't worth 3000, particularly that generation of the Accord which was awful quality.
Funny how you pointed out the narrow distance between the steering wheel and the seat surfaces…Willys added a little length to the civilian post war CJ-3A version to accommodate the ever expanding American waistline. Fun fact: the CJ-3A was the last model to use the Go Devil engine that the wartime MB Jeeps did. Love that little motor!
As for the Escalade it would be a safe guess that the lifters are bad. Common problem with newer 5.3 engine. Just a guess!
That's what I was thinking it should have the 6.2 but they have the same problem.
They still want more for a vehicle than what I paid for my house. All they’re doing is trying to dump their junk for all I care y’all can go out of business.
@@TylerScowtruth hurts doesn’t 🤡😂😂
@@fivestarlimos I need your mom at my place tonight! No excuses
@@TylerScowhouses are relatively cheap in the Midwest, people that live along the coast believe that a small house beings at 400k

Someone doesn’t believe inflation exists
$5,700 for that Honda with 174k miles is insane. I wouldn't even pay that.😂😂
yea but the tires were new LOLOLOL
COVID stimulus got dealers thinking folks have the money. Not paying rent, mortgage, credit accounts, getting paid more in unemployment, stimmy checks, ppp loans (fraud included), and the cheapest credit in American history was NOT income in the real economy. The dealer believes this car is not gonna stay on the lot long per the last three years based on unreal aggregate income.
Exactly its a joke 😂😂 my limit for any used car is no more than 50k miles and less than 10k price
I wouldn't pay 3000 for an Accord from that era. Total trash.
$7200 for a Honda with 175k miles. Used car prices are still high!!
It's not worth $3000. Worst generation of the Accord out there.
@@hochhaul That car is right on the edge of transmission failure.
If they are dumping cars the prices are not going down
I have an economics degree. What has happened from Covid on, has to say the least, made a lot of people who are way smarter than me look stupid.
@@keithbeck8170 yea cuz theres no existing model for this, crazy times
@@keithbeck8170 not sure about prices, but the lots in my city are jam packed with stock.
Cause there not dumping cars. This guy is the bottom of the barrell. He's at the junk auction. It's all the high milage junk dealers don't wanna fool with.
Leather in Denali need to be treated by detailing with leather conditioner to prevent stress cracking
The sad apart all of this is only regular people are getting ruined from all of this. The rich guys that won’t let the prices drop truly don’t care. They never lose money in the end. They just don’t gain as fast as they like. That’s why the prices are high and take so long to go down. The ultra rich just dont give a care.
Spot on
Well, maybe if we would demand they not be bailed out. Step 1 is to stop volunteering for service, military and police.
The reason prices don't drop is you. You (American Tax Cattle) continue to over pay for vechiles that you don't really need and are not worth it. You cattle have to have what's in and cool. Instead of continuing to keep your sedan running you had to go out and buy a truck or SUV, and not because you need the functionality, but because that's what the rest of the herd is doing.
@@Damitsallamen
@@Damitsall I bought a 2014 ford escape with 117k miles 4 years ago for 9200$ I don’t think I’m contributing that much to the pricing problem.
I don't understand why they don't clean up the vehicles either. Knowing the managers that I've known at franchise dealers it doesn't surprise me though. Not sure why you don't want to pay your lot porter an hour to do a quick wash and vacuum to make an auction car more presentable to get a few more bucks.
The Cadillac was owned by a Subaru owner who got a raise that's why there's dog hair in it
Brandon, get that side by side Defender! Use it for running parts and jumping cars (dead battery kind of jumping) on your lot. Oh, and wrap it with your company name/logo. It'll practically pay for itself! And that's what you tell the wife!
The driver of that Mustang Convertible had a heavy foot that's for sure. Look at the rear tires.

I occasionally flip cars and I detail my cars and I have gotten several comments from buyers that they bought my car because it was so clean especially the engine bay.
My dealer told me I get an extra $3,000 in trade value because there is never any smoke or dog hair in my trucks. I love my dogs but they stay home and look after the place.
The seats on the Denali have Haptic feedback motors. Less padding. Larger people slide out and damage the cover.
Car question. It will be awesome to know about motorcycle auctions too. Here in florida bikes are a big thing so if you have a chance it will be awesome to see one
Hey, have you heard about Ford dumping hundreds of brand new pickup trucks in MH Statesville, NC? I think that would be a great topic for your next video.

The Honda Element is the true toaster.
A Honda dealer told me Honda was fronting them the cars for free for 45 days in order to help them with their floor plan costs. The dealer said they were moving cars but not like it used to be. This Honda dealer is in central NJ. anyone else hear of manufacturers doing this for dealers?
How can dealers hold so many cars and still be in business ??? This is a sucker game for sure. I will not be in the car dealership ownership for sure.
Back in that Jeep was new we didn't have the big belly problem.
Which do you prefer, starving in the Great Depression or exercising ceaselessly as a WWII soldier?
Also, as pointed out before, the average man was 5'7". You didn't have trouble finding a driver. They were also young and single. My belly grew post marriage...

The seats are worn on the sides of those big trucks because people slide out of them on that side instead of using the step.
The Escalade rear bumper has been changed or painted. Clean up would have highlighted.

With These modern electronics every year, you will see more cars with complex problems, very expensive to find and repair, they will be traded in commonly. This trend started about 2014 or so.
Vehicles become too smart…and they get way harder and more expensive to fix. Modern technology is nice sometimes, but not with your car. The first car I ever drove had a mechanical fuel pump, it had an arm that rested against the cam shaft…it cost me 25 bucks to replace it myself; I want those days back.

What did I learn? If you're buying a car with leather seats, don't be fat.
I'm a mechanic at Hertz and last year they sent me to copart in pennsburg Pa to do a few recalls so we could send cars through auction. I could not believe how big that place was and row after row of cars as far as the eye can see.
Any idea what Hertz pay for the cars? I have heard rumours of rental companies getting a 45% discount. In 2002 I bought a 1 year old ex Avis GM lease car with 11000 miles on the clock for half RRP. When I test drove it it still had a sticker by the clock saying "Mileage must not exceed 15000 miles. Penalties apply". I'm sure both Avis and the GM dealer made a nice profit on it (or more accurately them as they had four identical ones).
@@MrDuncl back in the day when we were owned by Ford they were all leased vehicles or called program cars. Currently we have been outright buying cars from all over. We even bought from dealers lots. I'm not sure what discounts they get now. In 2019 I bought a 2018 Toyota LE with 20k for $16900 with my discount. I think them days is over.

I've seen SO MANY vehicles online and dealer lots that were asking premium money for DIRTY vehicles. Bunch of BS!!! Doing the bare minimum and over charging!!!
I keep watching these videos, but the truck I looked at in January has a higher sticker price today. And it’s a 2023.
I feel like now when the top goes down the price goes down. It definitely used to be the opposite.
That vehicle was probably in the service department for an oil change. And the sales department turned the service appt into a sale. Equity mining at its finest. As far as the trade goes. They probably took that in way under the money Or even on the money knowing it’ll do over the money at auction. No need to clean or spend any time or effort on it. It’ll do a gnote plus over MMr. That’s a platinum Escalade as well. Not just a luxury. Right color, right clock (platinums are not used for livery services that’s why the white is preferred over the black) and when your running the right stuff it makes very little difference in the money you’ll fetch if your detail dept shines it or not. But it can lose 500 or so in a week by not running it to get it detailed.
Brandon wants a brand new can am defender to ride Carolina adventure world and Hatfield McCoy trails 😇
How about the ones bidding just sit there until the price gets to a reasonable number? Then maybe people looking for a decent used vehicle could actually afford one and then the used car dealer can still make a profit too, the Honda at the start maybe 2000 and the con. Mustang 3500 at most with that mileage.
The Jeeps showed up in Europe not in the beginning. This country gets along with our neighbors for the most part (Mexico, Canada). It's cool that our govt is (normally) not willing to send U.S. citizens to armed conflict we have nothing to do with.
There didn't appear to be rust on the Jeep - that is a nice collectors item. The auction is held nearly every day of the year, good work ethic, sets a good example for the public, there is work to do.

Down here in Charleston South Carolina big signs at the dealership saying” all dealer mark ups are removed. “They’re running 0.9% also saying no payments for 90 days. Why? Toyota is price gouging just as bad as anyone and the quality of the new trucks are complete garbage. They jacked up the price of the new Tacoma by $15-20k and the new Tundra has had TONS of issues with engine failures and Toyota is playing games with owners, trying to accuse them of causing it when they are fully aware that there is a known issue with crank bearings failing.
