    I really like the painting a lot - bight and cheery colours. I liked that you used a more natural lighting today. It really showed the colours nicely. Thanking you as well for sharing your review of the Princeton Brushes. Hope you guys have a lovely day.

      Hi Anne, thanks for your comment! Actually we never use artificial light, as I have skylights in my studio and we prefer natural light. Unfortunately that means that when the outside light is low, cloudy or rainy for example, we struggle with our equipment (iPhone cameras!) to get it to pick up enough light. This video was recorded on a day when the sun came out! It’s very interesting to hear that you can detect the difference and thanks for your feedback, very helpful!!!

    I understand your son's fretting when he fell down stairs before the walking holiday. On my first trip to New York City, my fondest desire was to roller-blade (remember those?) through Central Park. I was so excited the night before that I couldn't sleep. I decided to go downstairs, but tripped down the stairs and broke my little toe. The roller-blades stayed home because it was too painful to put them on! I had to buy a pair of open-toed sandals on the way to the airport and I hobbled around New York City for 5 days. I never did get to skate through Central Park. Thank you Diane for that memory and for your lovely thoughts and paintings!

    I loved watching you paint this. The way you worked the brush for the sky turned out wonderful. But when you started with the horizontal stripes of such bright colors I was wondering where you were going. When the purple bled up into the yellow and you said it looked like trees forming I thought wow!! It does look like a grove of Aspen trees! Just before you started in with the ink I was in love. It reminded me of my grandfather’s ranch in Colorado. The yellow/gold looked just like Aspen trees in the fall on the distant mountains. The reds looked like the oak brush in its fall glory. And the beautiful blues and shades of purple formed the forefront that reminded me of the lake that sits between my grandfather’s pasture and those distant mountains.
    I like the whimsical feel you achieved with the ink and metallic gold too but my favorite is just before that. Although the sheep were a perfect touch. My grandfather happened to be a sheep rancher so that pasture/meadow would have been covered with them and wild flowers. 🐑🐏🌻
    I want to try painting this with only the sheep, a few wild flowers and maybe a fence added. 😊♥️

More coming up like that soon, and please have fun doing your version of this landscape! Best wishes, Diane.

    Try Kate at her Last Homely House channel. I was going to suggest the black-faced Suffolk breed for your sheep as I watched you remove the brown and, there they are in the final piece! Good show.

    Completely agreed on removing the white doodles, on making the sheep’s white & adding something to the red area.

      Maria, I know just how you feel! I have a whole room full of art supplies but my chronic illness and the fear of messing up often stops me from having a go. BUT when I do, I enjoy myself and often surprise myself. I hope you find the courage to just dip a toe in and try something small to start (I found Diane’s video painting little birds a fun thing to try). And remember you don’t have to show anyone your art, do it just for yourself and have fun. Much love to you from Australia xx

      @DianeAntoneStudio  Рік тому +1

      Thank you so much and welcome to the channel! Sorry for the late reply, I just found your question. Many people have found it easiest to start with this little bird video, which needs zero skill and turns out well: ua-cam.com/video/BA3nJDNx3Mw/v-deo.htmlsi=s1txI80ZkQzxKWZ7 and after that you can look on our channel home page for a playlist called Beginners and try some of those videos. Most of my vids are really easy and simple though, except for some of those I recorded at the beginning about 3 years ago. Stick with more recent ones in general for easier projects xxx Have fun, Diane xxx

      @DianeAntoneStudio  Рік тому +1

      Hi Liz, You don’t have to be on Facebook to do the challenges. That’s just the easiest place for people to share their paintings if they want to, but that’s not necessary, you can just do it for yourself. There are two ways to join in - if you join the UA-cam membership you can get the daily challenges in the Community Tab on the channel which I put there for members to see. Sometimes I put them up for everyone to see as well. You can join for $2.99 a month. Same deal on Patreon, same price and the challenges are posted on the Patreon members page on Patreon. Hope this help!
