    nice pretty satisfying result but a short montage/time lapse of digging part would be great in my opinion

    between the readily available excavator and detcord, always use detcord

    Nice Cobra system you got there, usually the risk is melting them not covering in gravel.

    Which explosive did you recommend for making the holes? 🤪
    BTW: Great short video 👍😁

      You definitely need a shaped charge for that. You may need a large rawl plug 🤔

      Yep I poured sand down the hole, but didn’t film that bit. I just wanted to crack the chalk and flint enough so it was easy to dig out. I didn’t want to have to clear it all from the grass. Worked a treat! 😁

      @@explosivescience9389 If you put old rags, blankets, tires, rubber mats, fishing nets(prety much anything ) ,steel plates on top it wont send stones flying like a claymore. Also water down the area so it wont make as much dust.A demo guy did a job near me couple years ago -same stone like yours ,except charge was greater. They watered down everything and put a lot of junk on top. There was barely anything flying away.

    1:22 This reminds me of an old Shadowrun RPG character I played years ago, who kept several meters of detcord, a couple remote detonator caps, and a roll of ductape on hand at all times while working because he felt the exact same way.

    I suddenly remember the beached whale they tried blowing into the sea. they had no idea on how much explosives to use so made a guess and added some. Huge chunks landed all over the beach and streets with a lot of damage to cars and a rotting smell for ages as a result.

    Keep an eye out for any big chunks of flint in that chalk face, dude. Any large pieces and I'll buy them from you 👍😊

      You wouldn’t believe how much flint we have here! It’s everywhere. I once did an explosion for a tv show with 5kg of ANFO. It sent flints the size of footballs 300m! We were all at a safe distance of 600m.

      @@explosivescience9389 I do a lot of flintknapping (it's been a hobby since the start of Covid, still learning 👍), and there's a big chalk/flint deposit not far from me, but it's super dangerous and full of dinosaur fossils, so I tend not to collect much from there.
      There's knappers out there who'd pay handsomely for a good supply of flint! 👍
      Also, don't breathe in the flint dust, it's really bad for you.

    So jealous, be it's fun going through airport security... Couldn't come round and lop half a tree down with a wrap of that detcord could you? Bit of geotextile and wire mesh maybe to stop the debris..?

    • @explosivescience9389
      @explosivescience9389  2 роки тому

      So I have a theory… airport security is not actually checking for explosives, they are only checking for drugs. Even after handling and setting of explosives, using my computer after handling them, then later that day getting swabbed in the airport… I have never been found with traces of explosives on me 🤷🏻‍♂️

      @@explosivescience9389 That would explain why the missus was pulled aside after going through the sniffer at Palma airport - it was the drugs not the playing cards... So, the taggant probably not detected by sniffing in that case. I remember the late, great Dr Alford did something interesting with PE8 and Petrol...nice future experiment? 👍
