- As you can see, det cord burns very fast. Our high speed cameras were only able to capture a frame or two of the explosion. I filmed this at an explosives training class I attended, May 12 in Tulare, Ca.

You all need to up your camera settings closer to 20,000 frames per second and you get some good visual on the burn of the det cord......

At the shop I work at we use det cord every day. It's pretty cool stuff. There are many different applications for det cord.
We use it to set off shaped charges for oil well perforating.

Not to try to be a correcting douchebag here, but for the viewers, there is a difference between deflagration-"burning" I guess you could put it as what most people would call burning anyways, and detonation. Burning by definition is subsonic, and detonation is supersonic. The PETN in the Det cord detonates. Awesome vids by the way!

Actually it's 23,000 feet per second. and the shock tub fires at 6500 feet per second.
det cord is wicked fast ,its deadly in its own way ,don't even need the explosives to do the damage ,

I kinda had a sense you might have been looking for that. There are some on youtube... like blowing up a computer stuffed with an airbag, or launching a paint can (empty).
lol. Nah. That's the extent of it. It's only because my brother got an airbag sent to him, and I noticed a metal cage lying around, and I asked him about it.

If you cant set off det cord with out screwing it up no more bombs for you. A private in the army can handle det cord.
An explosion is a fast burn. low order or high order it's all a burn.
