I can remember Amtrak running through my little Indiana town when I was a kid in the '80'S it would scare me to death how fast they would go by if I had to guess how fast they were going I'd have to say at least 70 to 80 mph
Amtrak trains could be lengthy during the years they used the Material Handling Cars. One of them here - 17 cars. They were still using old Santa Fe El Capitan cars here.
