Join myself and the community on a model railway journey, from planning, proof of concept, building, operating and finally exhibiting.

I'm relatively new on this channel and I really like what I'm seeing. I do have a suggestion for a future video.
Reaction videos are pretty popular, but I watched a recent video from the Comedian John Oliver. He used to be big in the UK but he defected to the US.
But he did an analysis on how awful conditions are in the US when it comes to Rail Freight Operators. Just type in 'John Oliver freight trains' and it'll come up.
I'd really like to see your opinion on the matter and perhaps do a reaction video about how the rail freight industry differs between the UK and the US.

An idea that, to me is plausible: Heritage steam tours on the layout, for example iconic locos such as Mallard or The Flying Scotsman in various liveries. The steam locos will be 'travelling through the region on their way to Edinburgh/Glasgow/Manchester/London' and can be seen a number of times today as their route was changed and they had to 'double back' 🙂 or the journeys were short ones to learn the route.
That will 100% be part of the layout.

Would electric trains be permitted to be dragged on scrap moves, diversions and moving between operators on this model railway?
Absolutely. The FL 70 could be pulling a FL90 with a container train

Hi Richard. My advice as you are starting out. Forget Wharley and all the others, way too complicated!! Start simple, plan well, and take it slowly as you learn.
