There's also internal differences in the exhale valve because of that system, gotta really dig to find that though. The A1 resuscitation system also had a long external hose that would clip in around the exhale valve and run to your "patient" on the other end, but I've yet to see one included with any of the A1's I've seen for sale online. Numerich Gun Parts Corp does have the tubes for sale on their website for about $12 though, just ordered one myself to go with my A1, along with a winterization kit.

this looks like one of those masks that the cut hl2 enemy called the combine camo soldiers wear.
I have this mask still for many years imm juust now looking to use it again but needed to replace the filters but i cant get them to come out. mine is also the m17A1 from what i can tell and it doesnt have a drinking tube at all nor does the front rubber piece seem compatible
Probably the M17 ABC, the original model. Make sure you unclip the filter covers from the outside first, as they lock the filters in place.
@@Weaponsandstuff93 finally figured it out and needed to use a flat head driver to pop them off
my first gen m17 is from 1965 and my m17a2 is from 1984 and also you wear the main strap on the carrier around your waist then the smaller second strap goes around your upper leg.
Wearing it that way is an official way of wearing it, it all depends on the situation
I'd love an M17, but I can never find them new old stock for a good price despite how long they were used.
Strange are you in the USA?
@@Weaponsandstuff93 Yes I am, it might be because I'm not looking hard enough, or I'm being too stingy and expecting a communist mask price for a western mask, lastly it might be because the reason that they were used for so long was that they were reused. My Dad was in the USMC during the Gulf War and was issued an M17. According to him, when his service ended, his mask was returned, cleaned, and re-issued to someone else.
@@techstormdarkvision3590 Yeah it could just be a case of them already going else where.
@@Weaponsandstuff93 This could also explain the high price and relative rarity of the m40, another mask I want to have at some point. BTW, I've recently come across a mask you may have heard of: the Avon FM53.
Just bought mine today for $40
Where
@@dancer1 it was at a ma and pas surplus store. They threw in a set of packaged filters for an additional 10. I hope they aren't expired because they were manufactured in the 80s
@@dancer1 might I add this was a few months before the pandemic and civil unrest so prices have likely become inflated
You finally got an M17, is it better than the M10?
A bit
I just got one of these at a local surplus store yesterday
Cool the A2 version?
@@Weaponsandstuff93 yes, i believe so
I quite like my M17 mostly because it scares people
How do I find out what year mine is from?
Should be a stamp on the left side of the face
My friends dad was in the Marines in desert Storm and they only issued him 1 pair of filters
No wonder they went to 40mm.
93 how to distinguish m17 and m10m?
This harness works very well with the mcu
I own the mask, can I sell it?
M17A1 mask with asbestos?
Remo Williams brought me here
If the external filters had a rubber covering could be interesting...basicaly a 40 mm / 60 mm connector and a soft filter that fits onto tge cheeck realy closely...
there is the m17 just plain and then the m17a1 with the resussitation tube and then the m17a2 the one that you have (i have the first gen)
Yeah the first one is called the M17ABC
well that is the one I have
Were these mask used in vietnam or was it just the A1?
The ABC was the version used in Vietnam
There is one of these with the chemical hood and Outsersts for 40 dollars. You think 40 bucks is good
Yeah seems an okay price, not that it will offer protection due to the age of the filters.
@@Weaponsandstuff93 nice, need to save 40 dollars now lol
Hey, a question what kind of music you heard?
?
I mean what is your favorite type of music
Pretty sure I answered that in Q&A video number one.
Weaponsandstuff93 thanks also keep up whit the content!
Mine is same year and maker too. Small world I guess?
If it have a white corrugated tube inside the mask, to the right of the drinking tube, its a m17a1.
I'll check that at some point.
Weaponsandstuff93 I had check my mask, I was wrong, its a black corrugated rubber tube with a kind of white plastic cap
Is this expensive? Im planning to get 1
If you're not in the US they'll probably cost a fair bit.
$700 new
I need it for my 6 color desert uniform
Yeah very Gulf War.
Do you have the hood for it?
Yes I have the green zip up hood as well as the Communist grey rubber hood copies.
I always wanted an m17 review, and i knew you didnt have one and was never going to get one soon. Then i went on youtube and skimmed trough the recommendations...
Does anyone know if the original m17 gas masks have asbestos filters because I have one from my grand father from 65 or 66
From what I've heard so this isn't 100% accurate, there is no asbestos in M17 filters but there is chromium.
Weaponsandstuff93 thx for telling
How much did it cost?
About £40.
I have the same mask i still don't know if its a m1 or m2
This one is an A2.
Weaponsandstuff93 thank you i have been wanting to sell it because I don't need in my collection anymore
Does anybody know how to unscrew the front nozzle it’s about as big as a half dollar if you do please let me know I need to clean it thanks
