i seldom do this kind of seat, because for me - yes - it´s not easy, like you said ;) it puts strain on my upper back, unless i use blocks. instead of that i used to do criss-crossed legs. my real favourite though is the full yogi seat, since i´m capable to do it. (btw this took up some years but being patient all the years instead of getting frustrated it´s so worth now) my spine and hips just enjoy it and it supports me to get in a really calm state of mind too, for example helping me with meditation...
