This one was the worst movie I've seen this year. This was a painful watch. Loving the original so much, made this one so much worse off. Do you agree? Have you seen anything worse this year?
The trailers were enough to keep me away from this. The first Crow was lightning in a bottle, and Lee is immortalized in that role. You can't top that.
I’m a massive Crow fan and have been since the original release back in the 90s. I wish these Hollywood types would learn that the only way the Crow needs to be written is as expansions of the universe and as completely separate stories from Eric’s. That film, much like the original comic, is sacred. Both are projections of grief over the loss of a lover and the loss of a friend who so desperately wanted to bring the author’s pain to its end. Eric’s story is written, ended, and should never be changed. The City of Angels crew understood that. If we could get another movie like that one, un-butchered by studio interference, I’d be happy. Now, here’s how I’d fix this movie. Number 1, change the dude’s name from Eric to anything else. He isn’t Eric Draven. Stop trying to rewrite his story. Number 2, change the main character and his partner’s story a little bit. Fuck it, keep the addict aspect. Have them meet in rehab, have him help her get away from the main bad guy’s “street girl” job and have her help him get clean. Once they’re recovered members of society, have the tragedy happen. Big bad rich corpo bad guy comes back with his gang of fixers to end the Main Characters for being whistleblowers to his whole “pleasure ring” operation. Number 3, flesh out the villains. Make this villain with corruption powers a Weinstein/Epstein type. I’m talking island and everything. Flies politicians and the wealthy out to do unspeakable things. Hollywood won’t have the spine to do it but make the lower minions be the ones who treated main girl awfully when she was forced to work for the big bad. Have them be the ones forcing her to recruit other girls and have her have to deal with awful, over the top, villainous mistreatment as she is forced to bring in person after person to their cruel fates. I mean, with that formula, you could still maintain the attitude of this movie’s Eric by making his Crow journey being about forgiving himself for being unable to stop the big bad’s gang from ending him and his partner. The Crow leads him to each gang person one by one, working his way up the food chain, building confidence until he’s so stupidly good at finishing people that the final fight is cathartic and frenetic. You could even add in the big bad guy’s immortality bit as a twist at end. And the whole “pure love” thing could defeat the big bad’s connection to the devil. Maybe even have the Crow be the one who carries the big bad’s soul to the afterlife as it leaves the main character to die to return to his love. And make these fight scenes the highlight of the movie. Make him know how each gang member treated her awfully and make him inflict that same treatment upon them. It’s a journey of vengeance for Christ sake. Number 4, cut Chronos entirely. The Dead Cowboy is metaphor for Eric’s eventual acceptance of dead and his purpose in unlife. This character should have just built confidence in himself over time. That’s my best shot to fix this garbage heap of a film. Great video. Really enjoy your style. Can’t wait to see where this channel goes.
Thanks for the well though-out comment! You've definitely had some time to think about this, I can see. I agree on cutting the Kronos character and making more of the focus the vengeance and not the build-up to it.

If you think this is bad,
Wait til you see Megalopolis 😁
I actually can't wait to see that. It looks insane, and not sure if that's in a good way.
or joker 2 lol
Total garbage 🗑️ and please DO NOT compare it to the original because it has nothing or even close to the original
Lol, great review! I knew this movie would be crap and I'll never watch it, but Skaarsgard's body is perfection!

From the review scores I think you might be right!

I only finished it because bill was hot throughout the movie , I was also frustrated with it too.
I enjoyed borderlands but I couldn’t sit through the first 10 minutes of the crow 😂
The romance between Eric and Shelly was so passionately electric I was flat out jealous, why can't I have that? Oh, right, cause I live in Canada.
I still love Bill
He unfortunately seems to be a good actor stuck in bad movie hell.
He looked like a "Sound cloud" rapper reject!!! It is a total insult to The Crow!!!. They should have just left it with Brandon Lee!!!.
I fully agree!
I didn’t mind the crow
Shelly returned back alive in the past so does it means all the goons Eric killed are still alive ?
We don't ever get a proper answer. That's what I ask in the video as well. It's just so awful.
Man... I called it. Knew this was going to be a shitter movie.
It wasn’t dat bad
Wasn't good either.
Overhate
There's a lot of movies that have been unfairly ripped apart, but this one is not one them.
@thecinemasidekick I've seen bad movies this one ain't it
Yikes! Looks like I'll skip this one!
Please do! The first ten minutes was awful!
