I've never had such a genuine realisation in my life, but genuinely - Polly is one of the greatest characters ever written. Period.
so glad I kept following this series. Ever since I saw the end credits of that first game I knew there was some real heart to it
At a party you didn't really want to go to, long after others went home, one girl smiles at you and asks to dance. Her bubbly and enthusiastic demeanor catch you off guard. Doesn't she know what time it is? Hasn't she had enough to drink? She is beautiful. What would someone like her be doing talking to someone like me? She must be stupid. *Do not* underestimate this girl and her goofy smile. The sparkle in her eyes are wondrous and bright, yet, for some reason, there's a small hint of something else. When you're young and unafraid, all you can dream of is someone who will look at you like this. But she's not like you. She *is* afraid. It's a choice to not let the night end. It's a choice to see what other people may still show you about life. She takes you for who you are, as you are. But why? You think. Her ghostly presence tells you. You can see right through her, and she knows it. Memento mori. Remember you are mortal, remember you will die. Remember all things end, and all people go. But the desparate glimmer in her eyes, small as it may be, screams as you. It begs you, please do not look at this with cynicism, we must not. These moments, these people, though fleeting, it's all the more reason to hold on to them as long and as fully as you can. We're all skeletons in the end anyway (assuming you have bones), why not ask that person way out of your league to the prom? Why not sit at that campfire with your friends and watch the stars? Why not just say yes to that poorly planned road-trip? But the girl is a phantom. It's in the nature of a ghost to be haunting. A yearning to hold on to the moments and the people you've lost. The haunting always stays longer than the ghost. So if she is to fulfil her purpose, that party girl with the bubbly smile will go home eventually, as will you. Another thought hits you. For someone addicted to these fleeting moments, she must too be painfully aware of the last call. She knows what time it is more keenly and consciously than you. Yet here she is, extending her hand with a smile as wide as the horizon. You're all she has, she's all you have, yet you both share the moment. C'mon, let's just dance one more time before the night ends. You can't do it without a partner after all. You wave goodbye to her and her smile, seeing them both fade away as she turns and walks off into the night. I'll meet you again ghost girl! Or maybe not. Take it easy? She never would. How would you say goodbye to someone like this? Oh, I know.

Just finished the ending, I gotta say it was a roller coaster of emotions rather than chaos.
So my speculation about the game is all a loop all for our repeated entertainment.
It was painful to see this Polly continue going so she can write her own stories meanwhile it all resets and the next Polly that we're going with will not be the same one. She want us to promise one thing and that is to carry her with us, they really showed us that the fun will have to end.
The devs really strike every of my core with this update, it showed us that nothing can last forever and also Polly's character development. She fleshed out more than other characters means they really put so much effort on making her into a character we love.
Honestly I started playing the Monster Prom series because I was hooked to Scott but eventually into something more like this and I'm glad I tag along. The Prank Masterz duo felt like real friends to me and I'm glad to be along their journey, even until the end.
Y'all did an amazing job with this one, Roadtrip has to be my most favorite game out of other two.
This ending hits so hard, after i got it i just sat down for like 1 hour. Love it!

Worth every hour i put into all this, fr, the monster prom series has always had some incredible writers, but they quality has only been going up, this ending was surreal, i had to take a full break after
You've always been with me Polly. That won't be changing especially now, thank you for the memories.

Ahhh I just got monster road-trip on switch the other day and unlocked end of the road! I’m so excited. Also this song IS SO GOOD
When the question part("And what will I be to you?") hit first, I had something "funny" going on. Now I know what it was. It was the answer. And the answer, I guess everyone knows by heart:

I don't usually cry during games or movies but this hit so close to home for me because I've lost so many people and all I can do is look back on the good times that we had before they were gone and I don't have many friends and she is honestly a person I wish I could be a person who could talk to people without issue a person who could be nice to everyone and be friends with everybody but I just can't talk to people I don't have many people around me anymore and it just makes me think what happens when I'm gone I have nobody to remember me I wish I could do more but I don't know how.

Haven't played the third game or seen any of it, but the upbeat energy of the first trailer, to the horror of that last trailer, to now the melancholy of this, it's pretty a interesting story and world for what came from a competitive cockblocking simulator made with a lot of passion

Polly’s tank top is falling on her left arm instead of her bra
love the instrumental to this and the way it perpetually zooms out just slow enough that you never realise it, disappointed the song writer decided rhyming was optional
I kinda wonder if that was the point since it’s hinted at that Polly and her family maybe of Russian decent. Why do I think this? Her moms name and some sorta dish drop that DEFINITELY isn’t American.
@@darthestar8791@darthestar8791 some more stuff that points to that: in one of the bench conversations with Polly, while talking about classic Russian literature, she refers to Russia as her "Motherland." it also appears that her first name is actually Polina, a name that's used in russia, as seen in the description of the "Polly's Sanctuary" that's in the gallery ("Welcome back, Polina.")
