    Can the blue tooth mixer (on mobile devise) still be used while an audio source is plugged into the aux-in jack via a 3.5 plug? I am thinking of running the emulated headphone out of my guitar amp thru the aux-in of the FreePlay, muting my amp speaker and getting both vocals and electric guitar sound out from the FreePlay and still being able to control the FreePlay remotely from my phone.

    Hi guys!
    I’m really interested in the Free play Live!
    Do you know more or less when the bag for it will become available?
    The bag would be extremely handy for my music traveling.
    Also some other accessories such as the floor mount like the previous one..
    what kind of stand can we place the speaker on if It, can I use just about any average mic stand?

      @mackietv  6 років тому

      Currently, the only mounting option is for any standard mic stand.

    I've been waiting for this one for a few months instead of getting the Korg Konnect, primarily because of the battery.
    My only question (and I watched the whole video) do you describe a single FreePlay Live as "true stereo" like Korg does with their Konnect? Thank you for the great presentation!

    • @mackietv
      @mackietv  6 років тому +1

      Yes a single FreePlay LIVE is true stereo when the Bluetooth or Aux in is used. Mono inputs are of course mono.

      Thanks so much for the reply, this final bit of info has me sold on the FPL.
      I would recommend emphasizing this in your marketing material and presentations, because Korg does emphasize this with the Konnect and I think everyone who will be comparing the two will want yours for the battery portability but might hesitate because of wanting true stereo.
      I couldn't find this information anywhere about the true stereo in the FreePlay Live in any of your marketing and it should be right up front. Shout it from the mountaintops, lol.

      Is it possible to connect headphones to the output? Maybe with a headphone preamp?

    • @mackietv
      @mackietv  6 років тому

      Yes! This is possible if you have some kind of headphone amplifier that accepts line level input.

    Hello, thank you for this video but I'm not sure I understand how linking 2 FreePlays works...
    Imagine I want to link a FreePlay Home with a FreePlay Live (Mackie's website says you can link any model with any other model, and this configuration (Live+Home rather than 2xLive) would best suit my needs for practical reasons).
    So, let's say I link a FreePlay Home as "Secondary" device, to a FreePlay Live (which would obviously be the "Primary" device) and let's say I plug a guitar and a vocal microphone into Channels 1 and 2 of the FreePlay Live (and plug nothing into the FreePlay Home).
    Here are my questions :
    - will the sound of voice and guitar play on both FreePlay devices ? (silly question I guess but let's make sure ! :-)
    - do I get to choose volume and EQ settings independently for each input on each output ?
    In the video part about the FreePlay Connect app, it's not clear whether Channel 1 and 2 under Secondary tab refer to the inputs of the primary or secondary device.
    > In the first case, does it mean that you can only use 2 inputs overall (inputs of the secondary device are disabled) ?
    > In the second case, does it mean that there is only one volume and EQ setting for each input, regardless of the outputs ?
    Still in the second case, in stereo mode, is there no pan setting then ?
    My guess would go for case nb 2 (all four input channels of the 2 FreePlay Live are mixed equally on both putputs), since we can see on the video that the name of the first channel "Guitar" under the Primary tab is not duplicated to the first channel under the Secondary tab. Even in Zone mode. Hence they must refer to different inputs.
    Unfortunately, this is not what I need.
    I don't need 4 inputs (one of the reasons a FreePlay Home as secondary is OK for me, since I don't need the extra combo inputs).
    What I need is 2 inputs and the ability to set independently the volume and EQ of each input on each output device.
    Otherwise how could I use one as a monitor ?
    I hope my questions and concerns were clear enough, thanks in advance for your answers ! :-)

      For what you are needing, the wireless linking will not work. The linking is for Bluetooth music playback only and will not send other audio to another FreePlay. The reason being is that Bluetooth inherently has some delay to it which is not good for live performance. To utilize two FreePlay speakers for what you want, you will need two LIVE models and run a cable from the Monitor output to the input of a second one. You can then control them independently.

      You get stereo audio when you srteam to a second speaker. Why stereo from only one box? That makes no sense...

    Hey Mackie?!?! When you make a 25 minute video on your speaker cabinets, LET US HEAR THEM!!! Play a damn guitar threw them. Maybe sing a bit? Every video I've seen by you guys DOESN'T let me hear the damn speaker. Do they sound that shitty?
