i LOVE that cody still occasionally whips out the stardust taunts. i hope he keeps them - they don't need to come out every match but it's nice that they're still there. i know that character will never come back, but it's nice to know that a little part of him still lives on as a wink to its fans.
I was there for that; I loved it because everyone in the building seemed to get it, and it created a good atmosphere for the "friendly" between Regal and Bryan; I was MORE pleasantly surprised they aired it on that episode of Superstars, because it seemed it was just for the Northern UK fans in attendance in Liverpool...
I loved Cody Rhodes alto ego Stardust. that character was out of this world. Undertaker's American Badass was and still an epic character. loved it when he drove to the ring on his motorcycle!!
I think AJ Styles dragged Cody for being Stardust previously, and the Cody turned back around and I think it was during their “Backlash” classic he had Styles down in the corner and dropped the Stardust taunts on him as a clap back, that was classic! I’d never seen Cody during those Stardust days, but I saw him do that to AJ and that was a great moment!
Honorable mentions: The commentators mentioned during Summerslam 2010 that R-Truth was a former Hardcore Champion though they didn't mention his name K-Kwik. Also during Sunday Night Heat I think Todd Grishim mentioned how Kane was like Isaac Yanekm.
JBL had a great line at Mania 38 for Cody against Seth when Cody did the flip and the Stardust hands. King: "(not sure what this line was exactly)Rhodes doing a little taunting" JBL: "Thats not taunting. That's shedding skin"
RIP Bray Wyatt, but I do have to disagree with everyone always saying, "He was the greatest creative mind in pro wrestling." His best character was probably the cult leader. I didn't like The Fiend. That sh*t got so boring, but people loved it for some reason.
Stardust was horrendous, but, that being said: without Stardust Cody may’ve never been what he is today. As Wyatt would say, Stardust broke him so badly he became unbreakable.
A few cheats on this one. Reconnecting with an old ally (Jinder and Khali) is no different reforming an old tag-team (DX, Miz and Morrison, Awesome Truth) after a long break. Mocking someone for a bad promo they gave before a character turn (Roman) isn't "a prior gimmick", it's just about the past of an evolving character. And you missed a classic one. When Dolph Ziggler defeated the Miz in their "Title vs. Career" match at No Mercy in 2016, he did so by overcoming interference by not only Maryse, but 4/5 of The Spirit Squad, where Nic Nemeth had won the Tag Titles as "Nicky", a decade previously, before that gimmick flopped and Nemeth was reborn as "Ziggler". That was NOT a direct reference, since nobody acknowledged that Ziggler was Nicky in the build-up. However, on the next episode of Smackdown, Miz got in the ring to confront his fellow Clevelander, claiming that Ziggler's victory would ruin the I-C title and Nemeth countered by saying it doesn't matter whom Miz gets to help "Maryse, the Spirit Squad, Kerwin White's caddy…", he would still retain the belt. (In fact, Miz won it back a month later.) But that in-joke was a far more direct wink, since while there had been 5 Spirit Squad members, and the casua fan wouldn't recall that "Nicky" was the fifth, Kerwin White (Chavo Guerrero Jr, in a self-hating mood, with a golf fetish) had only ever had the one caddy…and that bagman was fully introduced (complete with video package) by his full name of Nick Nemeth. So anybody who knew the details of Nemeth's career got the rib. (And, as awful as 3MB was, we can't forget that it's how we got the Claymore. Drew tells the story that one time, as he was almost about to be fired, he tried to deliver a stiff-legged kick, but because he was wrestling in tight jeans as part of the gimmick, he slipped and fell backward, bringing up the other leg and discovering his new finishing move. [Previously, it was the Future Shock rocking DDT that was his finisher.] So, arguably, the guyliner was worth it, after all.)
cody said before he came back to wwe he never wanted to hear the name stardust ever again. now he jokes about it which makes him a good sport about it.
When talking about Bray referencing prior gimmick of Husky Harris...you neglected to mention how he made mention of this gimmick with Huskus the Pig in the Firefly Fun House.
I like how they claim here that Roman reigns is being played as an exaggerated version of his real self…. Meanwhile, he is routinely mentioned, as one of the nicest people in the locker room, as well as in non-WWE contact. It’s more likely that the rating from creative was just dad abysmal when he was a baby face. While not always perfect, I do like the aura that he gives off now even if I’m not all that invested in that gimmick/faction.
Becky Lynch is missing from this list, she did a promo talking about how she danced like a leprechaun for the people. I forgot when the promo was. I’ll see if can find it
The fans chanting "Husky Harris!!" at Bray when the Wyatts debuted on Raw in 2013 should have told WWE something; luckily they let Bray use it himself AGAINST opponents, not bury him with it. They also removed the Cena promo from 2020 and re-edited it to remove that line; I liked that at the time, but it ruined the finish of the Funhouse Match at Mania 36, where Cena was revealed to be beating up the Huskus The Pig Boy puppet (with him realising that by his own word, he was beating up a "nobody") before he turned around and was mauled by a "something" (The Fiend)...
They are bots used by Wrestlelamia to increase viewership and make it look like the creator has a fucking clue what he is talking about. Wrestlelamia is notorious for using Dave Meltzer and Vince Russo as sources, as well as censoring words that aren't explicit.
I think Brey was the master of continuity storytelling, I mean he's the guy who hid a secret message in promos that people still haven't figured out yet.
Roman Reigns - Of COURSE they're embarrassed over his babyface run. But they SHOULD be as equally embarrassed over his HEEL run. Both cases are the same. Shove Shove Shove down the fans throats. Its just his HEEL character felt more genuine because now he could be an @$$ about it all. He didn't have to sugar coat the fact someone was HANDING him win after win. He could revel in it. But it was still disingenuous as hell. It set a precedent in WWE that the fans will just accept some kind of SUPER HEEL and not bat an eye when a wrestler just wins and wins and wins in situations you KNOW are artificial. Look at the current roster. We all accept Cody will always win. Not because he is some great wrestler(He IS but thats not the reasoning)...but because WWE wants him to LOSE to Rock or Roman. How the HECK is that entertaining?!? Or lets look at the German Strudel...Goober. "He's going to beat Priest...he HAS to beat Orton" again, not because he is some superior WRESTLER...but because "Well its too SOON to lose the title" Same with Bron Breaker. Liv ,Nia, and LA Knight are about the only iffy ones in the bunch. And notice LIV is only allowed to face RHEA in title matches!! HOW does this make sense? How is this where we got to?! Simple. Roman set the standard. As long as someone CONVINCES the fans a wrestler is "Too good to lose" they buy into it. Romans Heel run has now made wrestling pretty boring and predictable.....Someone getting too much attention from Hunter...Oh, they must be the next one he'll give a belt to... They telegraph it. ...LA Knight is about the ONLY wrestler out there who is bucking this trend. But how much attention is he getting compared to BRON or CODY or GUNTHER?!? LA is Hunters "Gift" to the fans. A wrestler who you never KNOW what will happen when he's in a title match. It annoys him. He wants to put that belt on the next SUPER HEEL.....Maybe Carmelo Hayes. Maybe Trick Williams when he is elevated to the Main Roster. So seriously, dont crow so much about Romans heel run. They SHOULD reference his past so fans can THINK for a second "Wait...WHY am I so over the moon about this guy now?!" Simple...WWE made you believe he was the second coming by NEVER TAKING THE BELT OFF HIM. Some of us just realize what BS it all was and still is.....which is why you have not heard a PEEP out of Sufferin Succotashes mouth since his return.. ....If hes a FACE, he cannot mouth off like he did as a heel now can he?!?! Punk seems to be the only one who can get away with that...heel for face...and sound genuine. If Roman has to cut a BABYFACE promo....well we ALL know where that goes.....
The Phenom wasn't an Undertaker gimmick. It was a description of his character as a whole. Also, he only said the words "I'm still down with the devil ONE TIME" in a promo.
Bo Dallas a gifted performer lmfso then y bo lieve didn't take off stop glazing mid hacks like bray n bo real talk they mid were mid and will stay mid get over it
He gave that gimmick and mask to NXT's Jacy Jayne a couple months ago when he guested on there, as she had legit broken her nose and wore it OVER her *real* face-protector. Oddly enough, she appeared without it for the first time in a while last week, at the same taping where her new stablemate Fallon Henley legit broke *her* nose. So maybe there will be a third-hand "unDASHING" gimmick... 🤣🤣
Wrestlers lovers will you go to heaven? Ever lie, steal, used God's name as a curse word (O-M-G)? Still think your good? According to God's law, you're guilty. Wait, God loves you, he made a way out. God so loved the world that he gave his son that whoever believes in him will not die but have everlasting life. John 3:16 Jesus died for you, believe & repent.
Undertaker using his "I'm still down with the devil" line to The Rock lived rent-free in my head for years. 😅
i LOVE that cody still occasionally whips out the stardust taunts. i hope he keeps them - they don't need to come out every match but it's nice that they're still there. i know that character will never come back, but it's nice to know that a little part of him still lives on as a wink to its fans.
FACTS.
William Regal’s real man’s man prank is a funny one.
His music was hilarious
FACTS Bryan Danielson pranking regal by having that be his theme when regal made his entrance to face him on wwe superstars was hilarious😂.
Steven Regal. A real man's man. Worker man
Drew McIntyre - He's busted out his Future shock DDT a callback from his Vince McMahon "Chosen One" gimmick. 👨🏿🏫🙆🏽♀️
Facts
Stardust will ALWAYS be apart of Cody.
He will always be STARDUST
Stardust might not have been a good character, but it was a good nod to Golddust. Kind of a memorial.
FACTS because stardust represents Cody’s low point in his career.
Unfortunately.
Is that supposed to be a pun or a mistake
Cody's & Seth's series of matches were absolutely phenomenal.
Cody: I never want to wrestle Seth again
I still think it's his best work since he returned. Like it set the bar really high, and he hasn't reached that level since imo
FACTS.
Battle of the drama queens
1:27 Undertaker's 2020 persona was called THE UNHOLY TRINITY.
Not the HOLY trinity.
I trust Disco Stu on this one.
I loved Cody Rhodes alto ego Stardust. that character was out of this world.
Undertaker's American Badass was and still an epic character. loved it when
he drove to the ring on his motorcycle!!
It's good to see Bo Dallas carrying on Bray's legacy, I am sure Bray is looking down at his brother proud.
FACTS dude.
Also, Bo Dallas will NEVER disappoint his brother Bray Wyatt.
Kane sadly never got to pull anyone's teeth out :(
Bray Wyatt was a generational wrestling genius. RiP
I love how Cody Reference's the time in his career which molded him into a WWW MEGASTAR
The Undertaker said " I may not be down with the devil but I will go medieval on your a$$ "!!
I loved the American Badass gimmick! No one could make me hate that character.

@@WWChampion16 I'm surprised. People seem to forget R-Truth debuted in late 2000
I miss The Undertaker
JBL had a great line at Mania 38 for Cody against Seth when Cody did the flip and the Stardust hands.
King: "(not sure what this line was exactly)Rhodes doing a little taunting"
JBL: "Thats not taunting. That's shedding skin"
Corey Graves not JBL
I enjoyed stardust. Cant lie he was pretty cool. Didnt think bad thought he had alot of funny momments.
I remember Jim Ross referencing Stone Cold’s Ringmaster gimmick at WrestleMania 17. LOL
obvious miss: Stone Cold *STUNNER* is a Stunning Steve Austin reference
Stone Cold is the G O A T
Husky Harris - A tank with a Ferrari engine 😂😂😂😂
I loved it when taker was the American Badass
I like when wrestlers mention the past, I think it's kinda humbling
World champion version of Jinder Mahal and Great Khali could have been tag team champions.
Awesome
As a kid, when the undertaker came out on that motorcycle, i was devastated.
Drew McIntyre & Heath Slater reunion needs to happen
Awesome W
2:30 rip 😢
Wrestlelamia, nice content you deserve more subscribers
RIP Bray Wyatt, but I do have to disagree with everyone always saying, "He was the greatest creative mind in pro wrestling." His best character was probably the cult leader. I didn't like The Fiend. That sh*t got so boring, but people loved it for some reason.
That's just you my bro😭
The fiend was awesome 😂😂
👍 original host guy
RIP Bray Wyatt
@0:08 Paul Bearer just casually answering a phone call.
Deadman and badman were never different people. Everyone should do this.
How could you not mention Huskus the Pig for Bray 😂
Stardust was horrendous, but, that being said: without Stardust Cody may’ve never been what he is today. As Wyatt would say, Stardust broke him so badly he became unbreakable.
Undertaker back in the Attitude ERA as the real American BadAss didn't disappoint that's for sure!😎 0:28
im shocked you even had enough video footage for that Thumbnail, considering the effort Cody puts in to forgetting Stardust ever existed...

I love how WWE has little hits for us as fan to prior gimmicks or feuds
R.I.P Bray
Undertaker as American Badass is legendary
undertaker the goat
cody said before he came back to wwe he never wanted to hear the name stardust ever again. now he jokes about it which makes him a good sport about it.
American badass was the best taker of all time
I absolutely LOVE WRESTLELAMIA

Heath Slater was underrated.
Bray Wyatt is the king of evolution, husky Harris to Bray Wyatt to the fiend
Part 2
Becky Lynch is missing from this list, she did a promo talking about how she danced like a leprechaun for the people. I forgot when the promo was. I’ll see if can find it
Roman was handled wrong, they tried to make him a star before anyone knew him. Soon as he was a heal it worked.
I sure hated the American Badass version of Taker when he first appeared. I've softened in it a bit over time.
What about the one time Kane put his original mask back on after he unmasked the imposter Kane.
They forgot Damien Priest from Survivor Series Wargames

RIP bray wyatt u are missed
bro that stardust
hello Vince McMahon
No one but Cody could’ve made Stardust work.
I think I'm the only one who actually disliked wyatt with whatever he was doing, whether that was his promos or wrestling
American Badass vs American Nightmare
What about John Cena as the doctor of Thuganomics
🎉
Cody will ALWAYS be Stardust!
People loved the bikertaker gimick??? I dont think so people were just confused and hoped he’d return to his old persona
honestly, stardust wasnt that bad
7:27 7:49
Man these people haven't even watched the video yet talking about "very informative" you haven't even watched a minute of it 😂

No one cares
Stop Calling Jindal Mahal's wwe Championship Run infamous!
Cody Rhodes Stardust character is boring
I know bro
Jinder Gyno
I wasn't aware that Mahal had any significant gimmick. He was never anything but a jobber. Don't remember him paring with Khali
Roman Reigns - Of COURSE they're embarrassed over his babyface run. But they SHOULD be as equally embarrassed over his HEEL run. Both cases are the same. Shove Shove Shove down the fans throats. I don't get the Stardust hate. I loved the character and Cody was awesome as Stardust.
Cody hates Stardust. Not the fans.
Jinder Mahal is jobber
Roman also referenced stardust to Cody
Roman is overrated
Bray Wyatt one of the greatest wrestling minds to ever live? And I'm done with this channel ffs
