The guy with no legs I met him whilst doing some building work in Liverpool city centre around 5 years ago ,it was just before Xmas and I gave him a few quid. And despite being freezing cold he still had a smile on his face. I’ll bet he’s happier than most people,that’s what characters all about. Occasionally I’d briefly think about him and wonder what he was up to. He’s played the hand he was dealt with and just tried his hardest to keep at it. The guy definitely gets my respect. Keep ploughing on folks, and don’t ever look behind, unless that’s the direction you want to go. ❤

Good for you Billy ... I can see in your eyes how deflated you feel after speaking to those gentlemen . . . it truly brings it into sharp relief how lucky you were and are to make the changes and stick to it.
What is the solution? what can we do? how can I make a difference? These questions can drive you round the bend.
The first thing we can all do is to not be judgemental and show some empathy. These people are still humans with feelings and emotions and carrying shame and guilt are demons they feel more than anyone should, I know that's true for definite.
You're helping people change their minds about the stigma of addiction and making them open their eyes about what's goin on around us, in our towns and cities.
Good on ya Billy.

Nice one Billy its obvios your kidness is genuineandyour sadness heartfelt, I used to be a homeless addict myself and pepple such as yourself showing a non judgemental concern and interest into the why and wherefores of this serious issue was a breath of fresh air amongst all the s**t and violence. With the love of Jah and an amazing support network I was able to get out of that life but people I knew then are still out there but dying at a much higher rate these days. An individual has to make their own decision to stop but the encouragement and education isn't really there unless you're already addicted, I believe every primary scool should do an educational trip to a detox unit and a jail . Jah Bless you all the health and happiness 🙏🏽💚💛❤️

It's always a pleasure to see Scully out and about. The man's been through hell, but there's still a light and a charisma that shines from him that'll never be dulled. Despite his situation, he's still got love in his heart ❤ I don't work bang in the city centre anymore, so I don't see the people I used to see, and I always hope I do when I'm there because my past interactions with them helped me meet some good people who stayed that way despite their situations. Little Kev, Dean from Blackburn, Paul and Ashley were always round Castle St, and Margi who used to hang around by the Fact. I'd take a moment with them over an hour with the classles, ill mannered, ungrateful shit houses with loads of dough (fivera wrapped in a 20!) knocking around...

Scully looks like someone i knew and haven’t seen since 2001, i met him on j wing in 2000,he had legs then if it’s the same guy i think his name was john. So sad to see what has become of him, i was with him in a hostel called rose brae in Birkenhead in 2001 and i left and haven’t seen him since. Great channel billy lad.

I left liverpool really after I left shool, campion high school was my senior school if anyone remembers it. 88 when I left got a job working away then went to Cumbria. Have lived there ever since, all my family are still there but I couldn't go back it's just to much for this little woolly back now!
