Kuma being able to use Armament Haki means that his will was not completely erased, just heavily suppressed.
It is probably the specialty of Bucaneer tribe Vegapunk was abt to mention but Oda cut it off for the next chapter. The man's soul is not gone I hope he sees Nika just before his soul goes away.
I think some of his experiences and memories were absorbed by his devil fruit that is now possesing his dead body. Thats why we saw the flashbacks and the use of armanent haki.
All this "will" getting in to objects and stuff may sound wild for many but it's basically just a semantic trick as in will=soul. We already have Brook who can literally move his soul around, and I wouldn't be surprised if Brook's next power-up will be possessing objects... or even people. That would be awesome.
He’s still alive. That’s why he still has the paw-paw fruit. If he was actually dead he wouldn’t have been able to use his fruit to get there. That’s why his haki use makes sense.

The Going Merry, a literal inanimate object, gained a spirit and was able to auto-pilot itself under the ocean to go to Enie's Lobby and save the Strawhats. If a piece of wood can do all that I see no reason a cyborg shouldn't be able to.
Not only that, it talked to them and then it died too. Completly crazy stuff.
At the end of 1062, lucci voiced that the reason they were headed to egghead was to eliminate the vegapunks, and return s-bear. In one scan lucci said that s-bear was misbehaving and they had to return him. 1067 lucci discovers Bonney is on the island, at which point Kuma detaches from repairs to head for egghead. So I speculate that maybe Kuma shares a collective conscious with s-bear, not just dna. And knowing how s-snake feels about Luffy it’s possible to assume s-bear feels a way about Nika and Bonney.

The other incredible callback in this chapter is with Kuma punching Saturn, it mirrors Luffy punching Charlos way back on Sabaody. Two celestial dragons/world nobles get punched, two characters that are bringers of the Dawn of the World...and somehow, Kizaru is the only admiral involved in both.
Kizaru, the one who holds the very power of light itself, but chooses to work for the darkness, perpetually standing at the edge of dawn

I feel like a lot of people miss that the iron giant awoke 200 years ago and attacked the holy land, the nika fruit has probably awakened at least one before in the last 900 years if luffy is in fact its power source.
200 years ago, the government also abolished fishman slavery. Maybe these events are somehow related. After all, Joyboy promised something to the mermaid princess.

I have a theory... what if 200 years ago it was the Nika Devil Fruit which called upon the Iron Giant to its rescue?
Is it possible that Nika's will inside the Devil Fruit asked for help and the Iron Giant rescued the fruit thus making it free from the clutches of the Government?

I find it hilarious that Saturn got tricked and bamboozled by Vegapunk who altered his demand of a self-destruct button on Kuma.
In support of the idea of Kuma's will controlling his now supposedly deactivated body, we also have a similar example in Cindry, from the Thriller Bark ark. She disobeyed, showing her own bit left of humanity in spite of being impossible for a shadow to disobey Moriah's commands. Even going so far as to smile at Chopper, just like Kuma not only protected Bonnie, but actually hugged her.

I expect that Vegapunk made one unexpected mistake.
The 'cut-off switch' potentially only turned off the cyborgian mechanisms which he could call on.
whatever was left of Kuma's body, mind and will, however small, isn't connected to the switch, that only affects the programming of his mechanisms.
Maybe cutting off control did something I.T consultants ALWAYS ask customers.

Maybe Saturn pressing the switch allowed whatever was left of Bart's mind to gain control, and maybe the sapphire pendant which Dr V gave Bonney has some sort of homing beacon and one-way transmitter letting him know when she's in imminent danger.
What if the Buccaneers actually have an extra heart
Basically, we all know that every One Piece race have some trait that they have an extra of, Longarm tribe got extra long arms, Giants got extra size, Fishmen have extra aquatic capabilities, so on...
We also know that Luffys Second Gear is based around Luffy becoming stronger and faster through pumping his heart faster, which could be like having a second heart to boost your strength
Finally with Vegapunk theorizing it could be something to do with love, love is always symbolized by the heart, so buccaneers having an extra heart could mean they have extra love, perfectly fitting in with how altruistic Kuma is as shown through the flashback
You just sparked a thought in me. It could very well be an extra heart or an extra soul. Then that created a domino effect of, what if Teech has Buccaneer DNA?
The giant robot went to Mariejois to pick up his strawhat, which he was drawn to by the voice of all things.
Something else connecting the Iron Giant and Joyboy is that the Iron Giant attacked Marygeoise when something big (I can't remember) happened with the Fishmen, and when do we first learn about Joyboy? Maybe Joyboy's will to right whatever wrong he apologized for led the Iron Giant to Marygeoise.
What if Blackbeard was a buccaneer? Perhaps the mysterious buccaneer trait is the same tha allows BB to have multiple fruits
Maybe Kuma's dad's skin colour could help in giving this theory more credibility since we don't have his official skin colour but Kuma is 22ft and Marshall is 11ft so probably the height dismisses the theory.
So if luffy beats blackbeard , he will kill the last bucaneer and stop the legend of nika and the bucaneers, but if luffy is beaten by bb - world is enveloped in darkness. Dawn never comes. Luffy has to kill of his kind - the bucaneer/dream pirate. Thats why bb says "dreams will never die!"

I was mostly surprised that Sanji also saved Kuma from Saturn, which may have lead me to think that he no longer holds a grudge against him for making Sanji spend 2 years at Kamabakka while Luffy got to go to Amazon Lily.
Sanji would not let an innocent person die in front of him regardless of how much he hated them. Plus he saved Kuma for Bonney's sake as well.

Don't have any evidence to support this yet but what if Joyboy was both a Lunarian and a Buccaneer? It would explain why they killed off both races and also the fact that both King and Kuma referenced sun god Nika (hasn't happened too often in the series).

The One Piece planet is supposedly bigger than our own, so there’s a popular theory that humans in that world are just capable of growing larger. My theory is that they’re actually normal sized, it’s just that whoever is telling us the story is exaggerating their size. The One Piece story has a sort of “folk legend” element to it, with fantastical adventures, magical powers, giant people, etc. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if the end of the series reveals this story to be a legend that’s passed from generation to generation.

If WG know every bit of details how come they have chopper bounty so low, and remember luffy was going to have a bigger bounty but they keep low for their own purposes and benefits. It is interesting that a deer with a human fruit could have so many abbilities and transformations. But like they said the zoans are based on imaginary creatures. Problaly some human wished to to be adept in every way possible and that his body can transform to respond better to the qualities that were used in that moment. For example monster point is used for extreme power and force output while one is based on extreme defense capabilities and so on.

I think the necklace that Kuma left for Bonney is a key to understanding how his will got activated again, I think that somehow Kuma left some of his will in it and when Bonney touched it his will took over his dead body, also its interesting how the panel that it was shown in 1103 made it seem like the necklace was giving out light
An addition the "cursed swords" if owned by a strong haki user the sword retains some will. or that is my take with the black swords and that. So have wano also had their own ancient version of putting will into an object. Are Wano and the Buckaneers or related? I have opened a can of dragons!
Since will is the soul of individual, we can guess that swordsman and samurais using a weapon their entire life the weapon will be impregnated with will of the user as the weapon becomes one with the owner. Remember for swordsman amd samurai the sword is basically like a body part of them, they must master the weapon and make it an extension of their body. Fighting with so much desire could leave behind some soul traces or (footprints) on the weapons. Remeber devil fruits are human dreams incarnate. Oden and Mihawk used so much their weapons and being individuals with such a strong will eventually the weapons transformed and stayed covered in the will of the owners, basically the weapons being a part of their soul, so their desire is still alive in the weapon until is fullfiled I guess.
Kuma and Blackbeard both have more than one soul. When kuma was shut down the other soul took over. The same as Blackbeard never sleeps. When he sleeps the other soul takes over like Cavendish. So from the outside looking in, it would seem Blackbeard is always awake.
I like this a lot. I heard a couple ideas that Kuma knew where Bonney was from the Sapphire necklace or Kumas able to see what all the pacifista see. I think it's a possibility Kumas memory bubble returned to him when he arrived at Egghead. I don't think Bonney shut the door after she touched the bubble lol. That could be the end goal look at the new pacifistas (seraphims), they have the traits of the devil fruits and the traits of the blood of different individuals in one body, and these are still babies and are so strong. Imagine full grown adults with these powers devil fruits will be obsolete as you said. The celestial dragon will no longer be fraud they are. Just with the buccaner and lunarian dna one individual is insanely strong and with a exceptional durability and endurance.
I’ve been wrestling with this and am shocked not to see it commented on more: on pg 8 where Kuma reaches for Bonney he doesn’t have his paw pads on his hands. Is this an error? Or intentional and therefore proof of his physical death and the fruit has moved on? Or could it support this theory that the fruit’s will has taken over…?
I had the impression that the series of flashbacks in the beginning was Kuma's life flashing through his eyes before his death, as he stops responding after hugging Bonney, the Paw Paw not appearing is a good indicator of this

Probably what happend was that imu used the power of the buccaners ( pass their will to things ), but in particular the will of joyboy of the golden century ( or part of it, wich was to acomplish evryones dream ) in some way to give the tree in marijois a will of its own and thats how the tree makes DF’s that represent peoples wishes and dreams, only to use also genetic technology ( your theory in the last video) to make so that water ( imus power in some way ) is their natural enemy

Yeah there's literally no way Big Mom is dead, first off her story began with getting dropped off on Elbaf so it'd only be right for it to conclude there, second Luffy stated in Fishman Island he would kick her ass all across the New World yet hasn't had a proper fight with her 1on1 to this day, then we have Prince Loki which I believe it was his wedding Shanks was attending in that one cover page, and lastly unless Oda Pulls Another race outta his ass then it's likely the Buccaneer's were the third race of people Big Mom couldn't get to join her

i find it amusing that buccaneer is just another word for Pirate.
It might be possible that the Buccaneers' race inherently mastered a power that all races can use, imprinting their "Will" or dreams onto anyone or anything. They may have shared this knowledge, leading to the phenomenon known as "The Voice of All Things." This limitless power could explain the creation of devil fruits, ancient weapons, the ancient robot, and poneglyphs. It may also clarify the concept of devil fruit awakenings, the connection of ancient weapons to specific bloodlines, and the ability to hear poneglyphs using the Voice of All Things.
Clearly, Imu and Queen Lily were connected to the ancient kingdom, gaining their trust, knowledge, and power from multiple races until Imu betrayed them by using this new collective power against them. Once the ancient kingdom fell, the Celestial Dragons saw the Buccaneers as their only threat and charged them with the crime of harnessing and sharing the power of God.
Then you remember the Sea creature defense system from the beginning of the arc were causing trouble by acting on their instinct and not their programing.
The Punks flat out said they couldn't figure out why or stop it. These animals presumably were made well after working on Kuma. The defect shows up again with the seraphim.
So it really seems that the odd behavior isn't disobedience but the pure obedience and level of conviction. All to keep Bonnie safe.
I don't think that Kuma saying "Is only a legend" meant that is fiction, but that is a character that got lost in history and nobody actually knows if he was really real.
How did Kuma know. Some while back i hypothesised Kuma has a connection to S-Bear. In the Chapter Artur talks about the connection between the Iron Giant and Kuma, we also see Cp0 saying to kill Bonney. Right behind them is S-Bear. And just in the next page, where this statement was made, Kuma is on his way to Egghead to save Bonney. Its his primal desire to save Bonney, and like Vegapunk stated in the beginning of the arc, these desires can't be suppressed. I think there is a connection.
So does this make the Clan of D a particularly strong group of Buccaneers who were dedicated to fighting for freedom? The Will of D being so strong that it could possess other people as time passed. Probably being spread to those who see one of them die with a smile on their face . No wonder Imu says that it's nothing like it used to be because it's so diluted and no longer a threat, with one of them being the Hero of the Navy and not opposing them.
I don’t necessarily think one piece will break the forth wall but I think that Joy Boy was a managa creator who wrote Nika comics. Hence Oda is Joy Boy in real life

Usopp predicted events yet again 184 when he questioned if devil fruits have wills and 860 chapters later in 1044 the Five Elders talk about the Nika fruit evading them because Zoans have a will of their own and 60 chapters later their might their might be the will of Kuma's fruit autopiloting him.
Maybe usop has some power uknown for the moment since his lies and questions became truth and reality. Or his desire and dream of being a brave warrior is so big that make his will, be the thing that brings these events to unfold and also how the outcome of these events is shaped too. So basically he has some form or unconscious future sight or premonotion that makes certain things to happen and change the course of these events.

It didnt really occur to me until watching this, the Iron Giant sure has some likeness to a certain gaint named Oars.
Why wouldn't Kuma know that Bonney is on Egghead? Kuma would still be patched into the Pascifista control network and would see what they see, like Bonney on Egghead or their orders to follow Sentomaru and Kizaru to Egghead.

This reminds me of the story behind the Lingering Will in Kingdom Hearts. Body, Soul/Heart and Will. Different aspects of a person.
What if all Devil Fruits "were" Buccaneers? Something like Zoan being Buccaneers with the strongest wills, Logia being Buccaneers simply strong Buccaneers, and Paramecia being just Buccaneers. And Imu or whoever did made them into that against their will and called them "Devil Fruits" because the government likes to call anyone they hate evil. Sounds like a reach but Gomu gomu being Zoan was the last straw for me xd
I really like what you said about the Buccaneers being Fruit Devil themselves. What if Devil Fruits are just the Will of the Buccaneers (and the family of D. could be the original name of those who started it)? Like they are the Devil Fruits themselves along with the dream that their fruit becomes. Which could explain why Bonnie’s Will about changing her body’s age comes directly from the fruit she was given as an infant. This also could tie into what was mentioned about Zoans and their will overpowering the user makes them big like Buccaneers.
I feel like Zunesha awakening and coming to Wano is also worth mentioning
i think the reason why eating multiple devil fruit kills is because the will of the two devil fruits conflict overwhelming the body as the devils wills are opposing each other
Where the iron giant went could have been where the very last battle took place in the ancient times. Seeing that's where joy boy's hat is. And it was just a last minute effort after being reborn to go finish what the original joy boy started. It's pretty cool that possibly for a moment the original joyboy came back to life sorta through will. And did what he always wanted to do stop imu and save the world from his or hers grasp.
This would also explain how Vegapunk was able to infuse objects with Zoans, perhaps it was thanks to Kuma he got to learn the mechanics and such of Devil fruits, hence why it is such a recent discovery.

All that being said, I think kuma is still alive after death because he's mostly a robot now and still a functional vessel for the paw paw fruit, so the fruit is driving the robot with kuma's will, and kuma the soul has already passed on. Hence the minimal verbalisation

There are two very simple explanations to what's happening which you seem to be overlooking: (1) the fruit's will remains after Kuma's will is gone and it's controlling his body or (2) Vegapunk messed up
Kuma in his flashback stated that Vegapunk gave him superhuman hearing, and Kuma started heading towards Egghead on the same chapter (or a chapter after) Bonney screamed when being swarmed by bugs after using Vegapunks laser sword. Coincidence? Perhaps
All things in one piece are living in one way or another. Especially if the soul that once inhabited them or created them was very strong. An example of this would be cursed blades, the voice of all things, and zoro understanding the breath of all things. A theme of one piece is that all things cry out to exist freely without judgement. It makes sense

Is there a chance that Buccaneers have "genetic memory," and that is what allowed him to maintain control, but, not just that, there's a chance that the Pacifistas based on Kuma can share his Will?
Edit: Oh, gods, it's all too likely that Oda bringing in "Sora, Warrior of the Sea" was a way of implying how legends and desires can be formed from popular media.
Further edit: I don't read enough, but, question... does Luffy often burst out in "ha ha ha" while laughing? Oda went out of his way to give distinctive laughs, so from my spotty reading, I felt Luffy alternating between his own "Shi-shi-shi" and "Ha-ha-ha" in Gear 5th was a good way to show multiple spirits in the same body.

I think inherited will was 100% confirmed to be more than just a philosophical concept in the One Piece universe when S-Snake obeyed Luffy because she inherited boa's infatuation. It was definitely implied to be more than a concept quite heavily, but that was the 100% confirmation to me. There is certainly more than one way to inherit someone's will, with Zoro inheriting Kuina's will through her sword, and I think it's clear that devil fruit eaters (can) inherit the will of previous users of the fruit. Sabo 100% inherited Ace's will in this more tangible sense.
What I am waiting for is to see how that inherited will has manifested in S-Bear. We've already seen him labelled the "problem child" among the Seraphim, which makes perfect sense given that he's inheriting the will of a revolutionary whilst being commanded by the world government. I feel like it has to play a role in the climax of Egghead.
The other instance I'm most interested in is Zoro and the Wado Ichimonji. I have a theory that the Wado Ichimonji has been holding back its power which is what allowed Zoro to use it so early. So I think it will unleash its full power when it recognises that it's time for Zoro to fulfil the promise.

I don't feel that Kuma is only animalistic instincts. Kuma was guided by parental instincts to protect Bonney from Saturn, that's why after the punch, Kuma shutted down.
Rather than the robot being drawn to mariejois because it was the ancient kingdom he was drawn to Imu, a former loved one or nakama. Just as Kuma was drawn desperately to Bonney.
All these theories are of course very interesting, but the most simple option is Kumas ability of the paw paw fruit. Somehow he used the ability and Bonney activated it when she entered Kumas memories.
I would like to point out the fact Kuma showing up to protect Bonnie is the failsafe he asked vegapunk to install into him before he had been turned into a cyborg that's what he asked vegapunk to do in his flashback so he can always protect Bonnie and the reason he went to egghead was because he is still connected to punk records and was able to know what happened through that. For people not paying attention this has been hinted at at and covertly hidden throughout this arc
This fits perfectly in with how I think the series is going forward. Luffy clearly shows this idea the first time he uses Red Hawk as he is invoking the will of Ace that he inherited to literally ignite himself. He also has the Straw Hat which is most likely literally harbouring the will of Roger and fuelling his journey towards becoming Pirate King.
I think he is going to need to fully synchronize with the will of Joyboy in his devil fruit and level up.

I think I understand the exact scenario from the time the revolutionary army saved kuma to the phone call between shaka and dragon, the wg decided to initiate kuma’s self destruct so they will kill a lot of rev. but it didn’t happen and that’s what made them decide to kill vegapunk because he’s traitor plus being sure that motherflame is working, dragon called shaka to know what’s going with kuma and that’s where shaka knew he’s gonna die

A fusion of souls even impresed big mom, a normal fruit with some amazing posibilities in terms of is use. Certaintly his fruit could have some powerfull meaning in the future or can separate a person from his soul (will) strips someone from immortality, the same way that ope ope no mi can make someone by unkown means immortal. Why a fruit that only revive the person can make so much of a person is soul and different abbilities related to death and manipulation of the soul (will). And even given the name soul king could foreshadow a big importance in the final war.
