To win with those gambits you have to be strong with tactics and play with short time... Otherwise it is very hard to finalize ;)
I played it 8 times before winning a game with it. 800-1000 rating. No one did any of these moves and it took five games before anyone took that stupid pawn.
@@SH-kz4fl this gambit is one of the easiest gambits to counter. black can have a solid defense while completely fucking up white’s pawn structure and even with basic skills black can stay safe.
You'll need to lose a lot more than 7 times... As Levy shows in the video this opening is designed for beating players 800+ points weaker than you.
"Miss, are you 1800?"
-how I imagine Levy picks up girls, idk...
I usually go for: Are you the 1469?

tbh i didn't even see the rook was under attack
i will admit watching the video i was thinking the same thing. My thought. bishop take rook, queen take bishop. queen take bishop. My slip that the order didn't need to be follow in that direction. simple bishop take rook.. white bishop take queen. black resign case he an idiot 950 elo player

Yes, this is so painful. So many Nimzowitsch Defense, Kennedy Variations and Pirc Defense, Maroczy Variations
I just play Reti Gambit as white every time. For black, it's Old Benoni vs D4, Sicilian Najdorf/Scheveningen vs E4 and East Indian Defense vs C4.
Only a good enough low elo player will take, most won't know what's going on
I played the king's gambit and my noob 1100 opponents doesn't know how to play with it it's a very aggressive opening if accept then we play nf3 the next move we take the center with d4 and also stoping qh4 check goofy ah that's just deadly

I've mained the danish gambit up to 1800 as a player so it's fun to see it being covered - i still learnt something in the declined variations that i didn't know! Anyway, i wanted to point out in game 1 i believe the theory is to take with the c-pawn. black can very easily blunder his bishop but whatever he plays it's pretty good for us

Hey Levy these videos are really helping me improve my game. I fell out of touch with the game for a long time after learning just the basics but since I have been back at it during the pandemic, I had really been struggling. Your videos really covers the basic principles very well and I finally hit 700 playing the Danish Gambit. Just wanted to say thank you.

Never clicked a video so fast. The Danish was my favorite opening when I first started playing, but only ever got to play Bxb2 a few times. In my experience, below 1000 the vast majority of opponents were too scared to take the 3rd pawn, tho they don't know exactly why it's scary
Yes I agree that's obvious, but you missed most deadly C4 advanced accelerated offensive defense, reversed Carpov tactic variant tested by Warsaw GM and feard by international engines. On the other hand I don't blame you to keep this one in the sleeve.

Thanks for sharing this. I tried playing a few games against 1400s and they went very well. I was expecting a difficult learning curve with a opening that sacrifices so many pawns, but the positions it leads to feel really logical to play.
Really great stuff Levy, thank you!

"Ah yes, the Danish gambit. What a fine gambit."
*Me thinking it was just good to play the center game*
god i play the worst gambit possible to counter it
center game does literally nothing except opening the files for bishops
These gambit videos are awesome, could you maybe cover the smith morra gambit next?
Went out and tried this and checkmated in 12 moves! What a great opening. Fairly strong player (1500) compared to myself as well. Amazing video!
I'm ranked in 16-1700's with no studying or anything and have hit ceiling. I can't seem to break 1800. So finally I decided to have a look online and stumbled across this video. I gave it a whirl and instantly my oponent (ranked 1548) did this. I guess it's not the expected moves someone at say 1200 would make and not the most technically proficient a master would make.
I thought I'd made a massive balls up on move 8, but it paved the way for one of the weirdest mates I've ever made. Using only a knight, how bizarre!

Yeah, lazy from Levy not to cover this. Last time I played it my opponent sacked the bishop afterwards on f7 winning my queen, but then I could check him with my bishop winning his queen. He didn't see this and I was a bishop up.

Hey Levy, love your videos, could you make a video on the Bird Opening as it is quite rare and unknown
a lot of these situations are quite similar to my beloved Morra gambit - just that it is the e pawn missing for black not the c pawn which seem to make it much more dangerous for black. I usually play the kings gambit after e5 - but this gambit looks worth to give it a try !
