Big up to the Mouse, a man dem with an illustrious catalogue indeed..as with many musical geniuses, crazy unbelievable antiques are a mainstay and part of the musical diet
I've seen him live once a few years ago. It was in my hometown in the Netherlands in a small venue. That man commands the stage like no other. Well stage, he started walking through the audience while performing because it was so small. I'll never forget that concert.
Nice work as usual. He lived in Orange County, California for a few years. He always had a strong following. He used to play a lot at this big club. He was well liked, the club owner gave him money to record on of his later albums. I don't think people knew he talked with a stutter, explains his style a bit. He was a real character on stage and off from the things I have been told. Years ago, I spotted him walking down a street from close to where I live now. As I passed him I shouted " Mr. Hilton, Mr Hilton " yeah, its a little Harder they come line. He for sure, had some drug issues. Word is he can tour the US again. I'm sure he will make some serious bank if he come to Cali.
No longer the lovable character i used to know back in the 80s, meaness and bitterness had taken over. But he was unique and intriguing I admit. I still have the VHS Video Cassette of the 1982 Reggae Sunsplash part 2 featuring Steel Pulse, Chalice, Burning Spear, Mighty Diamonds, Marcia Griffiths, Mutabaruka, Aswad and of course Eek-Mouse........etc
"Mousketeer" is my favourite album ever. My Dad bought it at the time, when I was 10 years old, and it still hits me every time i play it, nearly 40 years later. This is a brilliant channel, thank you and keep up the great work you are doing.
His Mic Skills are Certainly Top Drawer ------------ Delivery and Cadence is Another Level------Badlands Legend still---------------------------------------------------------------------------Trenchtown-B
He's a ghetto youth ..with pride, i think they really tried to sabotage 😒 As a ghetto youth trying to make a living is one the loneliest roads even with sed linkage. 🍃🚶🏼♂️
1:49:i heard this young man back in the day,eek a mouse, early 80s,was chatting Chinese dialect on the mic, apparently,he came up with some weird Jamaican dialect,i don't know whether that's fact but that's what i heard,it was some kind of black Chinese chatting on the mic
Wow mon. I knew something wrong about the Marley boys long time. I jammed with them, some of my favorite concerts. But ya, they rich boys, not like their dad grew up. "We all had to sleep on the floor". Bless RAS, HIM and Eekamouse.
Yes, and that's why I love Eak a mouse. Storm it come and it blow down mi door 🚪 ⛈️ 🍃 🍃 Mi haffi nail up mi one window 🪟 🔥 🔥 Every day the rich get richer and the poor get poorer
RAS. Thanks for your unbeatable, unbelievable qualities in all your research. Your work is positively updating your viewers of past and present reggae legendary. Once again, thank you. I have two questions. 1: Have you made a biography of PRINCE FAR I? 2: I listened to a song 🎵 in the early 90s, but I don't know who sang it. I know part of the lyrics, but I don't know the title and artist. The song 🎵 goes thus; "You two fat, fat girl to be on top My grandmother said, "Son, never you carry a heavy load over the estimate of 125".......JAH BLESS 🙌
Certainly a character, as a Junior I was lucky to be invited to my High School Senior Prom in 1999. Eek-A-Mouse sung at the event, and he was crazy good! There was a girl who caught his eye, she was looking real hot lol He invited her to the backstage, she didn’t want to go alone so she grabbed me and dragged me with her haha The guy was nice to me, gave me some swag and even signed it, but there was definitely a creepy factor to the whole thing. He was probably stoned and had a creepy look which I was oblivious to it because I wasn’t in any danger, but the girl knew something was up and didn’t want to stick around any longer. He basically begged for her to stay with him but she was “hell nah!” 😂 looking back now as an adult, I’m wondering what could he possibly want with a 17yo?! lol Great musician but definitely had some demons. He could have been mainstream and possibly be up there with the greats but those demons kept him from reaching those heights.

Now I'm wondering when I saw Eek-A-Mouse, but I know it was in the 2000s. I was pretty disappointed in his show as he constantly said "what are we smoking?" throughout his whole act. Strangely enough I love reggae, but hate mind altering drugs of any kind, even marijuana. I was expecting to see a skinny Eek-A-Mouse instead of him being muscular, and I always thought him being skinny was part of his image. Might be kind of shallow of me, I know, but it wasn't an enjoyable show for me. Now Yellowman, he never fails even to this day.
Yes Shallow. Eeka mouse is Eeka Mouse. Such a shame that you judge the herb, You can like his music but it comes with the things the man himself loves, ganja and being muscular. GTFOH
