Totally sad to hear the passing of Zack Cookman. Amazing dude! Definitely will use this strat to build relationships with activities that are eye catching that I may not have tried yet

Sorry for your loss man. 100% agree with your approach of inviting people to novel activities. I recently got a condo in Miami and I attended a few networking events where I was able to meet a lot of likeminded people (in tech). In my experience most people are open to meeting new people especially in transient areas where they've moved to solo. Keep up the good content!

So sorry about Zack. It’s unbelievable. Thanks for the hacks. Onassis was quoted as being a really unhappy person despite his wealth.
Hacks I’ve used in the past - inviting new friends/date to yoga, Pilates, tango, bookstore, library, museum exhibit, or DIY class.

    Hey Tai.
Im a past student of 67 steps and friends with Dan Passarelli.
So true on anchoring emotional experience to a person.
It reminds me of a fund manager, Aaron Wagner who owns Wags Capital.
He calls it "emotional accelerating activities", where he took out wealthy people on exotic car track days, had fun, "shot the shit" with eachother, and half of the group of people he invited chose to invest in his fund, without him speaking a word about his fund.
A great one i used was skydiving! Inexpensive, doesn't take much time and emotionally charged as hell!
And my condolences for your loss, I hope you are coping during such a crappy time.
    Travel safe man.

Pick a hobby you genuinely like, and go to those classes. Be involved in the actual “organizing” of those events and you’ll find your social circle growing. Not just going to the event (which does help) but to actually manage it or have some responsibility in some capacity.

Real friends are very hard to come by. Most will leave once you change for better or they feel some type of envy from you doing better than them. I agree, they are good to have around but don't put too much faith in them. They will leave you once you become a slight inconvenience. If they don't, they are your real friends and you do everything to keep these people around!

    Excellent...
Large group of friends gathered around a dinner table eating & fellowshiping for hours. That is what I'm talking about!
Many groups of "friends" are in such a hurry at a dinner fellowship to leave that can ruin the whole vibe.

Great video thanks for sharing this Tai. Want to say sorry for the loss of your friend.
I remember in 2014 I had finished the last friendship of in my life and I had no friends. Nobody to meet up with no one to talk to nobody. The only friends I felt I had was the RSD guys and people I was learning from UA-cam. I was trying to make new friends and they were falling apart within 6 months to a year and I would have to start over.
One of the things I did was start to work on my consciousness read good books, meditating, doing yoga, NoFAP and working on SA Recovery, eating clean work out. I could see some change was happening and tried to make friends but again not much luck.
The real change happened in 2019 when I started to serve and not want anything in return. The most important thing is the people you are serving they are also serving others. A good example would be serving people who are making food and serving the homeless. When I did this I stuck to it for 3 years. Today I can happily say I have a great community of friends and it keeps growing and growing my friendship circles.
If you are making friendships based on wealth, beauty and your trying to get something out of it so it benefits you. Eventually it will fall apart. Also if your friendships are coming from a place of false pride that will eventually fall apart as where there is pride there is envy.
Where there is selfless service there is love and without service there can be no love there can be no friendship. Also in friendships there should be the following qualities. Kindness, Mercy, Tolerance, Simplicity, Non judgment, Humbleness, Humility. I am working on these character traits so it attracts the right people and have good friendships.
    K

"A friend that is closer than a brother" is from the Bible, the book of Proverbs, written about 3,000 years ago.

A hack to making friends is to be openly diverse and be a person that is very relatable to people. We have to be be less judgmental and more accepting, open to different views. Also we must lean to understand people, and listen to understand not to respond. Being keenly observant and having a lot of emotional intelligence is a finesse to gaining relationships. 😎

Interesting, no business or family? Just friends.
I think another great way as I was listening I was remembering my time in college. I remember studying with a group of friends trying to study complex math. It was amazing I met an amazing girl that way. It was natural, we started as friends. To me it’s all about safe environments. Gym is too public, jujitsu is different. Long term communities where you may see that person again at a given time. Real relationships should never be rushed.

Start a question with "I'm curious..." such as - "I'm curious, what is one thing that you did when you were a kid to have fun?"
This will both shed a light on their true Core(cz people with age morph often to things that are Away from their true Core) and also what would make them truly happy(or something similar, look for the core activity, purpose).

You can say what you want of Tai but he is always thinking forward compared to other people who share business contents.
It’s seems a more mature and balanced approach to life compared to the trends of ‘you have to isolate yourself’, ‘remove friends that don’t contribute to you success’, ‘you are the average of the 5 people’…
I think all these dogmatic rules just create dumb and closed mind people.
Europe has a lot to teach to the ‘success at all cost’ US mentality
