Instead of being something overly happy with a darker meaning below it, it's usually something that's a nice mix of disturbing and funny with a happy meaning below it. The topics covered, like grief, betrayal, misunderstanding, and depression are all ridiculously exaggerated, just as we exaggerate our own issues.

Love the implications of the husband n wife, they both have some dark intrusive thoughts that are kind of just raw, untouched emotions, and a lot of times in relationships, we don’t say how we actually feel because it can hurt the person we actually do love, because to some extent, those negative emotions aren’t really us and we know that. We wouldn’t want any harm coming to the ones we love but sometimes we feel like that, and then that feeling can either go away, or fester and become reality, poisonous to both us and the people we love if we don’t express it properly, not just wildly and letting it explode after we’ve bottled it up.
In short, it really be like that sometimes.

Item # SCP-4703 "The Problem Solver"
      Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: All known or recovered copies of SCP-4703 are to be digitized and stored on a disconnected hard drive in Site-12. Automated tracking protocols are to monitor television airwaves and internet traffic for any signs of SCP-4703. Should any new physical copies of SCP-4703 or instances of SCP-4703-1 emerge, MTF Gamma-12 "Door Number Three" are to be deployed to immediately acquire all instances of SCP-4703 and SCP-4703-1 and treat affected with Class B amnestics.
Description: SCP-4703 is a weekly television series resembling an American talk show. Instances of SCP-4703 have been found in the form of VHS tapes, Compact and Lazer Disc, and digital files. Each segment features a host, known as PoI-4703, seated with one or more "guests" that present their problems to the host, who offers advice and attempts to solve their problems. A live audience behind the camera applauds at times and shows support. Said problems may vary, with some examples being a lost item of clothing and low self esteem to compulsive consumption of furniture and a desire to [REDACTED]. Instances are universally "resolved," though degree of success can be difficult to ascertain, due to some of the bizarre issues involved. Anomalous affects manifests upon anyone viewing SCP-4703. This includes recordings, segments, or still images. Upon viewing SCP-4703, subjects are made aware of a dull, throbbing feeling in their head. This typically lasts around thirty (30) seconds. At this point in exposure, subjects may leave without any lasting effects. Complications arise when subject has viewed more than 1 hour of the program, or one full episode. After this point, all amnestics prove ineffective at reversing the effects of SCP-4703. The subject, hence referred to as a SCP-4703-1 instance, immediately loses consciousness for several hours, after which they will awaken. Instances will appear otherwise normal until activation.
SCP-4703's secondary effect was discovered on 04/27/1996 during a routine containment operation, when an agent near a contained instance of SCP-4703-1 uttered the phrase, "Houston, we have a problem." The instance immediately attempted to engage the agent in conversation about the particular problem he was having. After testing, it has been determined that any phrase or words said in audible distance to a SCP-4703-1 instances indicating a problem, dilemma, or difficulty of any kind will activate it. If allowed, the instance will try its utmost to convince whoever has the problem to go see PoI-4703 and become a guest on their show. Instances of SCP-4703-1 appear absolutely convinced that the show host is the absolute best problem solver in "all the universes," and will insist that they will find an answer to the problem. Acceptance is not compulsory and is strictly prohibited, as any guests that appear on the show will themselves become an instance of SCP-4703-1.
Addendum 4703-23-1: As of 7/23/2002, SCP-4703 is upgraded to Keter. All new copies or SCP-4703-1 instances are to be immediately destroyed. The inherent threat they pose to an individual's ability to solve or even adapt to problem or difficulty coupled with its capacity to spread is a threat to humanity that would, in essence, reduce everyone to clingy children unable to think for themselves.

when you are in the middle of existential episodes or anguish, these shorts and this type of humor are scary because they hold a mirror to your face. But only after you escape the depression and anguish do you realize just how scary this style of writing really is. Because you now realize how easy it is to escape this pit of despair, and it scares you not to look into the pit, but to look at the people who are stuck in the pit with no one to blame but themselves.
