@@Tacit_Tern It wasn't stolen, they redid it. I think they did a great job. Sometimes songs like this need to be redone in whatever type of music is popular at the time in order for people to hear it and understand why it was written.
"Ball of Confusion (That's What the World Is Today)" is a 1970 hit single for The Temptations written by Norman Whitfield and Barrett Strong. I first heard the L&R version and loved it thinking it was their song. But, we must credit those who deserve it. Peace.

THANK YOU for saving me the research! Didn't Tina Turner cover it, too? I honestly thought she sang the original. Also, I believed it was a 70's era song, and had to retract that statement when my sister called me out on it with the "Reagan" reference.

We saw them at the Rits, NYC in the 80s. We knew about them already and that is why we went to see them. I can't recall the opening act, but the fact that we were this close to them and enjoyed the show, was amazing. Loved and love their music.

That’s because we still had the Fairness Doctrine in affect during most of the 80’s. When it went away in 1987, all of this craziness started w regards to hyper politicized media. The Fairness Doctrine was holding sanity in place.

I haven't seen Love & Rockets since 1984 when they played at the Longhorn Ballroom... where the Sex Pistols played in 1977 on their ill-fated North American tour. I will see Love & Rockets again on June 15th here in Dallas. 2023. Quite a bit older now but I have great hair and am still quite handsome.
