The Grounds of Kingsley Plantation with Park Ranger Josh

In this installment of oral histories for NCPTT's Documentation of Slave Cabin and Tenant Farming Houses Project, we visited Kingsley Plantation, where Park Ranger Josh gave us a tour of the grounds. In doing so, he told us some important and interesting facts regarding freed Anna Kingsley and the way she ran the plantation in the absence of husband Zephaniah as well as other remote plantation sites, some of the last remaining examples of tabby slave cabins, and the five-century old tree that held such significance to the land.
