I just got my 16 today. Coming from a 14pro after 2 years and abysmal battery health. Definitely don’t notice the missing pro features and it’s so light and easy to hold. Nice to have USB-C finally too! The ultramarine looks beautiful in person
SAAAAME but I have it in the ultramarine colour and its the highest quality phone i have ever had (previously had iphone 11, iphone 6 and some crappy alcatel phone long time ago)
honestly, I've been following your content since the android authority days, and kinda have trust in your reviews, but how can't you see difference between refresh rate while scrolling through the text or menus, or during the UI animations??
My doubt as well. I have a 15 pro max, a galaxy s24 ultra, and when i tested the 16 plus last weekend, it was just painstakingly “choppy” in comparison.
I think you may have misheard me. I did indeed say that I'm someone that can tell the difference between refresh rates. I just think that the 60hz, while certainly dated, is still enough for most of the people that might be going for the smaller and cheaper entry level phone.
I can do you one better - my friends that I visited are still using iPhone 8! While the 60hz refresh rate is certainly still a thing on that much older phone, the performance losses in particular are something I couldn't wrap my head around. It's definitely time for my friends to upgrade.
I just switched to the iPhone 16 coming from the 14 pro and it is somewhat noticeable but it doesn’t ruin the experience. Scrolling through tiktok and instagram feels smooth, the only real difference to me is unlocking the phone lol
It's impressive how good the iPhone 16 (and 16 Plus) is. However, because of larger screen size, I'm leaning towards the iPhone 16 Pro Max, (to replace my iPhone 14 Pro Max) even though I may not use most of the features
I was on a 12 Pro Max for a few years and it was time to upgrade this model year. Went back and forth between the Pro Max and the Plus, and I opted for a 16 Plus. 1 month in, I love it - the weight savings, the incredible color (got mine in teal), and the incredible speed and performance + camera sold it for me. 60hz doesn’t bother me because my 12PM was already 60, and I really just find it a more attractive phone than the 16PM. And that monstrosity of a camera layout on the pro is starting to get a little tired and what’s an otherwise sharp and clean design IMO
i was also thinking about waiting for the 17 but i have an iphone 11 since 2019 so ima get the 16 because my 11 dies so fast and it gets hot really quick
If they keep Macro Photography in the next further base model iPhone, yeah my next upgrade will be the base model since I am using 15 Pro means I will upgrade to 18 or 19 I guess
Got Adobo was so Filipino coded! Anyway, great review Josh. I really think having the regular iPhones is the way to go these days. The year on year improvements are very noticeable vs the Pro lineup.
60hz is acceptable with the fact that it never stutters on ios. But whether someone can notice a difference or not , there is no justification for using a 60hz panel on a phone that costs 800 dollars. it is a base model flagship not an entry level smartphone. even an entry level android comes with a 90hz these days. i’m on iphone 13 and will probably switch back to android if they use 60hz forever.
The pic of your girlfriend at minute 8:13 not good. Her color skin looks bad, almost lifeless. This is one of the reasons why I had to return my iPhone 16 Plus. This phone was made for your parents to FaceTime and iMessage and to take the most ordinary photos. I quickly went back to my Pixel 8 and got me instead the iPad Mini 7 for my occasional FaceTime and iMessage fix.
Apple Fanboy review no doubt. Defending a 60hz display in 2024 in an expensive phone from Apple! This is downright pathetic. Don't worry Josh your free pass to future Apple events continues! I
Do you keep the same energy where reviewers don't mention how poor and weak Pixel 9 Pro XL's chipset is? 1200$ for a phone that has weaker chipset than 3 years old snapdragon 8+gen 1. Do you call out when reviewers fail to mention how hot Pixel phones become while shooting pictures or videos due to that abysmal chipset? Do you all call out those reviewers as "Google Fanboy"? No? Well, you're a typical android fanboy then.
@pcmasterrace2306 LOL! 😆 you have no clue at all what you are saying. I traded in my IPhone 15 PRO Max for a Pixel 9 PRO XL and best decision I ever made..no heat, no issues, just does everything so smoothly and so great...what a great FUN yes FUN phone! By the way comes out the box with very powerful AI no need to wait for months later for half baked devices from Apple tired of their BS. These are facts! Reality check.
@@rico4you sure android fanboy, sure. whatever lie you have to tell on the internet to help you sleep at night. it's always a pixel fanboy saying some of the dumbest thing ever. smh

I have the iPhone 16 plus in black with 256gb. I’m really loving it.

Totally agree with the refresh rate etc. I went from 14pro max to 16plus and boy the difference is major-now I have the 16 pro max I feel normal again

Hey Josh! Loving that gray cap!❤😊
I have a iPhone 13 Pro Max and gonna wait another year. I would upgrade but current iPhone still running good. 17 Pro Max sounds good though
i was also thinking about waiting for the 17 but i have an iphone 11 since 2019 so ima get the 16 because my 11 dies so fast and it gets hot really quick
Sick Midnight hat, I have the same one! Great video as always.
The concert was so good, I will wear this hat with so much pride
First ! Great Video So Far ! 💯💯💯 Keep It Up ! 😅😎💯 :)
Nice wallpaper you got there!

I always love simple phones & I don’t know about others, but that triple camera design feels very hideous for me.
8:56 those signs 😂

Are you American
No ones gonna switch to iPhones just because it's an ok phone. Yes, the specs are just mid compared to its competitiors. Nothing mind blowing.

cool story bro
What phone does your girlfriend use?
Going to starbuck while they're supporting a genocide is insane. I usually really like your content but I can't support this sorry.
Whenever I hear the word sponsor, I stop watching that video
