- Will it Run? In this video I try to start my newly acquired 1 owner all original true survivor 1975 Dodge van tradesman b100. This vehicle has been sitting/ abandoned in its garage for approximately 25 years. The Van is in great shape with zero rust. It also has a true time capsule hidden inside must see!

I was really fortunate to end up with this van. I’ve been really busy lately with other stuff but can’t wait to work on it.
I had an orange color Dodge trdsmn100 to!..but mine was a 78. Bought it in 1985 in my early 20s.. many a great memories bro. Really wish for another one similar I love these Vans the best but also the Chevys. That 318 is indeed bulletproof lol I ran mine on dirty oil more than a few times (don't recommend) and once the front seal started leaking but we drove it home anyway..ran out of water so the last 50 miles i would drive it 3-5miles before it redlined overheated than let it cool and run it again.. kept this up up till finally close enough to get get a ride into town and my dad rescued us. The motor was indestructible! Really cool project you have dude :)

Sweet b200. I just picked up a 78 b100 shorty. Drove it home 500 miles and she made it home. No problems. I was also told the motors are bulletproof.

Motor mounts,oil pan as it needs to be rear sump, manifolds,.
Those are the main things.
Pedal,throttle linkage. Filler tubes and dipstick. Trans mount is same. Ive done these swaps many many times. Radiator too and a nice low profile air cleaner as it hits the doghouse on some. If you can get a 440 out of a same era dodge rv would make for an pretty easy swap.
A lot of those old Dodges had Chrome piston rings . They lose compression if they're not used. They have to get hot to really work right
Fills me with joy to see this wonderfully preserved, and picked up by someone with the passion to bring back to its glory days. Yeah!

This 127 WB Tradesman is an excellent platform to start with. Body is beautiful, at least on video. Have fun replacing old parts.
Just replaced the gearbox, belts, and the alternator. Rums amazing
love it! it’s an awesome ride! i found a 96 dodge 3500 pleasure way conversion van…they’re so great with the 318…seeing yours has given me an idea or two for when i update the interior

To make easier to start pre fill the carburetor with fuel through the vent for the bowl , your starter will thank you
I was going to do that but I didn’t want it to back fire 🔥. That’s the last thing you want with the engine sits inside the van. I’ve heard horror stories 😏

Did the Original Owner Pass Away, or Just Loose interest in the Van?
The original owner is 82 and a good friend of mine. He wanted the van go to someone that would resurrect it. After being parked since 1996-97 it brought me joy to take him for a ride in the van. 🤘
