Thanks, she's a quick boat. You're right, the wooden ones were the racing models in the 90s before the newer Mk4 foam sandwich Wayfarers. So much stiffer than the GRP boats and often a touch lighter. Efficient sails really helps, as does keeping it flat - I go much faster reefed than overpowered!
@@WayfarerAdventures great, does it let out ok? I see you can turn off in light wind. Also be good to see method of fittings for getting reefing lines in boom as that system is very neat and slick. I think be a popular winter video
Yes, as soon as you let go it comes out fine. I've used other boats where they've used the automatic ratchet block on the mainsheet which also works well
Enjoyed this, thank for taking us along.
Lovely! Thanks, I enjoyed this trip very much.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Nice one Jonathan.
Lovely story and lovely boat. I like you attitude towards sailing, enjoying the weather, confident, curious and able. Cheers W11324
Thank you!
Great stuff. I should have said in my other comment, the boat looks fab, that's what I cut my teeth in twenty years ago.
Thank you!
Very nice boat! And great sailing adventure! Hope to see many more! :)

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
She does crack along nicely. What speed do you get?
I sailed grp one…a real tank. I guess the ply boats are so much lighter / faster.

Very nice. Did you have a pint in The Mishnish?
Not in the end - beer on board and an early night!

So, did they charge you on the Marina for such a wee boat.
Yes, but not much!
