I would say your mussel recipe was spot-on. I like them with garlic bread to soak up the juice. If you are having them for a few people I do them in small batches as they only take 3-5 minutes to cook leave the last batch for the cook as this will be the best tasting.
That's a great idea! We'll be in Brittany before too long, where I think there's an abundance of shellfish to be found. We'll have to try your tip. - Stu
Try some fresh mackerel. so easy to catch from a boat in Scotland. Not 'fishy' in taste when caught and cooked in the same day. Enjoying your channel . I sail in SW Scotland (and based in Troon).
We were treated some delicious mackerel caught by a French boat in the Outer Hebrides. Really delicious - we ate it cooked two ways, one simply fried and the other with some soy sauce if I remember correctly! We spent 4 days in Troon on our way up and enjoyed our time there. Asked one of the breakfast cafes to put a potato scone in their breakfast bagel, it was great! - Stu
@@DelfinoDiscovers If you get a hand line with 3/5 feather lures you will have all the mackerel you could want. You can often pull up a line full within a minute of dropping the line! Are you around SW Scotland next summer?
Hey, realised that we missed this comment! YT studio doesn't notify us when follow up comments are left. We are already down south (boat is in Devon), planning for next year's adventures down the Atlantic coast of France, Spain, and Portugal! - Stu
Laura is considering how to post recipes generally :D She is a great cook and interested in writing about food, so you will see some updates from her soon on it - Stu
Yesssss, Oban and Kerrera are the BEST!
I also have never liked muscles (or shellfish in general.) Will definitely give the muscles a try when we sail in Scotland.
